Abstract

During the development of brain glycosaminoglycans, concentrations are known to reach a peak 7 days after birth and then steadily decline until an optimum concentration is reached at 30 days (Margolis et al., 1975). Therefore it could be postulated that the higher brain concentrations of chondroitin sulphate in the experimental animals may be linked to some defect in the development of brain.
