The article examines black holes, looking at research on both stellar-mass and supermassive black holes. The article discusses the formation of black holes after the death of massive stars, how astronomers study black holes by observing X-ray-emitting binary star systems, and differences in the behavior of black holes and neutron stars. The article also looks at supermassive black holes located at the center of large galaxies, such as Sagittarius A* in the Milky Way galaxy. INSET: Track down a black hole.
