Under the analytical framework of sustainable livelihoods, we establish the evaluation indicator system for farmers' livelihood capital, to evaluate the current livelihood capital and livelihood diversification for different farmers in the Dai nationality region of Xinping County in the Yuanjiang dry-hot river valley area, and discuss the relationship between livelihood capital and livelihood diversification. Studies have shown that the mode dominated by agriculture, supplemented by non-agricultural activities, combined with breeding, is the commonly used livelihood strategy for farmers in this region. As farmers change from pure agriculture to non-agriculture, their total livelihood capital and non-agricultural livelihood diversification index will increase, while agricultural livelihood diversification index will decrease. In the meantime, their livelihood activities gradually shift from agricultural to non-agricultural ones, which is mainly reflected in the combination of both agricultural and non-agricultural activities. Regression analysis on livelihood capital and livelihood diversification shows that natural and physical capital is the basis of realizing agricultural livelihood diversification. Farmers with rich natural and physical capital will prefer agricultural livelihood strategies. In China, the vertical coordination development mode of agricultural products can be divided into traditional market-oriented transaction mode with fluctuation according to market conditions, made-to-order on the basis of farmer organization, company leading cooperative mode, share or shareholding cooperative mode, and vertical integration mode. There are differences in coordination characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, and adaptability between different modes. Traditional vertical coordination mode is transforming and upgrading to close and high-efficient mode. Gross agricultural product is an important indication to measure the agricultural development level of a region. It would be affected by many factors, having the characteristics of non - linearity. For this reason, LM - BP neural network was put forward as the model and method for predicting gross agricultural product. Different fusion algorithm has its own advantages and limitations, so it is very difficult to simply evaluate the good points and bad points of the fusion algorithm. Whether an algorithm was selected to fuse object images was also depended upon the sensor types and special research purposes. Firstly, five fusion methods, i. e. IHS, Brovey, PCA, SFIM and Gram-Schmidt, were briefly described in the paper. And then visual judgment and quantitative statistical parameters were used to asess the five algorithms. Finally, in order to determine which one is the best suitable fusion method for land cover classification of IKONOS image, the maximum likelihood classification (MLC) was applied using the above five fusion images. The results showed that the fusion effect of SFIM transform and Gram-Schmidt transform were better than the other three image fusion methods in spatial details improvement and spectral information fidelity, and Gram-Schmidt technique was superior to SFIM transform in the aspect of expressing image details. The classification accuracy of the fused image using Gram-Schmidt and SFIM algorithms was higher than that of the other three image fusion methods, and the overall accuracy was greater than 98%. The IHS-fused image classification accuracy was the lowest, the overall accuracy and kappa coefficient were 83.14% and 0. 76, respectively. Thus the IKONOS fusion images obtained by the Gram-Schmidt and SFIM were better for improving the land cover classification accuracy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Players of the agicultural industrial chain pursue their own profit maximization, which can lead to conflicts of interest and affect the stability of the industrial chan. Therefore, fair and reasonable profit allocation mechanism is the key to guaranteeing the development and strengthening the strategic alliance relationship between participate members. Shapley model is an effective method to solve the profit distribution in cooperative relations. But it does not consider the three factors: risks faced by players during the operation of the agricultural industrial chan, technolog innovation ability, and the degree of participating in the cooperation. So, correction factors are introduced to modify the Shapley value model, in order to make the distribution of benefits more equitable and reasonable, and effectively guide practice. Based on the field survey of the foxtail millet planting, processing and sales in foxtail millet production areas, it found out basic demands of foxtail millet farmers and processing enterprises for policies. On the basis of data of the financial expenditure for agriculture (FEA) and per capita net income of farmers (PCIF) of Jiangsu Province in 1990-2012, with the aid of software R, this paper established the linear regression model for the relation between financial expenditure for agriculture and per capita net income of farmers through the function lm. Using the function summary, this paper obtained the summary statistical data, and made diagnostic check of regression model from image command plot and variance analysis table. Agricultural industrialization is an innovative operation mode and effective drive for transformation of traditional agriculture to modern agriculture. Land is rare natural resource. Production and construction of all sectors in a region must be based on land. Thus, overall research and analysis on current situation of land use can reveal scope, depth and reasonableness of land use, is helpful for analyzing internal mechanism land use change, and can reflect production scale, level and characteristics, and also can provide basis for optimization and adjustment of land use structure. Based on RS and GIS technologies, with the aid of TM image data of the Three-gorges Reservoir Region in 2010, the data of current situation of land use in Three-gorges Reservoir Region was obtained, and current land use situation was analyzed using geographimetrics and landscape ecology methods. Results show that since natural, social and economic conditions are different, land type diversity, combination type and location index of counties in the Three-gorges Reservoir Region are varied. In the land use diversity index, Xingshan County has the most single land use type (mainly forest land) ; in land use degree, Yuzhong District has the highest land use degree; in the integrated index of land use, Changshou District has the lowest integrated index of land use. To study the dynamic changes of land use and predict the future land use scenarios based on the current land use, this paper uses Cellular Automata - Markov (CA-Markov) model to simulate the landscape pattern in 2030. The results show that in the study area during the period 1980 - 2005, grassland and construction land increased, and wood land increased slightly; waters and unused land d e creased, and arable land unnerwent dramatic changes. The simulation precision of CA - Markov model is 87. 28%, innicating that the use of it for simulation is reliable. The land use of the study area will be changed greatly in the future. Based on the current situation of agricultural development and agricultural material utilization in Wannian County of Jiangxi Province, we mainly use the form of questionnaire survey and design the relevant questions, to study the farmers' awareness of circular agriculture and its influencing factors. As a part of certain region, agricultural development has inevitable connection with regional urbanization, and they are highly heterogeneous and complementary in space. Their internal relationship is manifested as agricultural structure suits demand of urbanization development through adjustment in the process of urbanization, while urbanization is based on development of regional agriculture. From history of world agriculture and urbanization development, agriculture firstly provides primitive accumulation for urbanization development, and drives regional urbanization through promoting agricultural development. When urbanization develops to certain stage, urbanization accumulation increases and reaches the goal of "boosting urbanization through agriculture". If urbanizaton develops slowly, agricultural adjustment will lack motive force. On the contrary, weak agricultural development will lead to stagnation of urbanization. Using the data of 11 climatic factors on 44 counties in the main producing area of walnut of Yunna Province, we analyze the impact of various climatic factors on the distribution of Yunnan walnut. The results show that Yunna walnut has a great expectation on temperature and moisture. Temperature, including average temperature in January, average temperature in July, the average anual temperature and accumulated temperature ⩾10 °C, has the greatest impact on the distribution of Yunna walnut, and is the primary dominat factor; moisture, including anual rainfall and average relative humidity, has a great impact on the distribution of Yunnan walnut, and is the secondary dominat factor. Through the vertical and horizontal analysis of agricultural export data in Liaoning Province during the period 2006-2010, we can find that Liaoning Province has already a major exporter of agricultural products, but there is no significant increase in many indicators with great fluctuation or declining trend. At present, the total production output of agricultural and livestock products is constantly increasing and the total market demand is also increasing substantially. In this paper, we use the statistics concerning farmers' income in Yunnan Province from 1995 to 2012, to perform the path analysis of components of farmers' income in Yunnan Province, study the path of influence of components of farmers' income on farmers' net income, and then set forth the policy recommendations for increasing farmers' income in Yunnan Province. Using the evaluation indicator system for arable land fertility in Suiping County, this paper analyzes some factors influencing agricultural production, such as physical and chemical properties of soil, site conditions, soil management, and soil nutrients concerning various types of low-yielding fields in the county. In accordance with the dominant soil constraint factors and main direction of improvement, the low-yielding fields in the county are divided into four types: irrigation improvement type, waterlogging drainage type, barren soil fertilization and barrier layer type. Agricultural structure adjustment has always been the important factors influencing Xinjiang agricultural internal income growth. On the basis of the planting scale, productivity and price in 2010, the paper measured the contributions made by agricultural structure adjustment to Xinjiang agricultural internal income growth through structural optimization. Linear programming model was established by Lingo software, to optimize the structure of planting, horticulture, animal husbandry in Xinjiang and analyze the internal agricultural income growth potential. After structure optimization, Xinjiang agricultural production value will reach 1231.44 × 108 yuan and the farmers' income of production and management will reach 9851 yuan. The greatest potential for Xinjiang agricultural internal income growth was husbandry accounting for 41.33% of the total production value. The next one was horticulture, whose share of the total production value has raised to 17.43% from 10%. Fruit industry and animal husbandry will become the pillars of future income growth. There are still some income growth spaces in Xinjiang internal agriculture though the agricultural structure adjustment. The agricultural production value will increase by 44.32% and farmers' production and management income will increase by 68.83%.
