Abstract
The article examines the conditions of creativity and arts in Japan, as of January 2017. Topics discussed include the country's government policies towards the mid- and small-sized arts organizations; total value of art exported; impact of economic decline on arts in the region; and exhibitions to be held in different art galleries in the country such as "Sea, Mountains, Art!" at Kenpoku Art 2016.
