Sexually transmitted infections are pathologies that affect the general population, both women and men, and can be transmitted mainly during sexual intercourse and from mother to child during pregnancy or childbirth. Objective: to develop an educational intervention on the human papillomavirus in elementary and high school students of the Chordeleg Educational Unit. Method: a prospective and descriptive quasiexperimental study with a cross-sectional design, and with a quantitative approach. For the evaluation of this study a survey was applied before and after composed of 10 questions, sociodemographic variables were considered, and knowledge, no personal data was recorded. The descriptive analysis was performed employing frequencies, percentages, measures of central tendency, with tests such as Shapiro Wilk, Student's t-test for related samples, and the study population was 224 students. Results: It was evident that 63% were women and 38% were male. It was observed that the student T-test for related samples showed (p<0.001) a significantly positive impact on the knowledge of HPV in the students of the Chordeleg Educational Unit. Conclusion: A pre-test and post-test were conducted with an educational intervention and feedback, concluding that it is necessary and important to improve this knowledge of HPV for students to avoid contracting this disease and the development of cervical uterine cancer, it is also required to explain to women about the immunization schedule, which is its function and importance to prevent HPV.
