Little has beenstudied about intensive productionof quailmainlyrelated totheir sanity. Reports ofquailaffectedbyeimeriosesare notfrequent,howeverthishas an important rolein poultry industryon the basis ofperformance lossesand mortalitiescaused. The objectiveof this summaryis to reporttwo outbreaks ofeimeriosisin quailsin the state ofSantaCatarina, andthrough thisshowthe importance of thisdiseaseplays in the creationof this species. Were necropsiedfivequailseach propertyand collectedsamplesof viscera, includingintestine. These were processed and stained by hematoxylin-eosin and then observed under light microscopy. Were observed oocysts of Eimeria sp. in various stages of development in the small intestine. According to the macroscopic and microscopic lesions, it was possible to confirm the diagnosis eimeriosis however was not identified to the species involved. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
