Abstract

Flu vaccination is recommended for children with chronic diseases, including diabetes.1 However, the vaccination rate in at-risk children remains low.2 3 For an effective immunisation strategy, physicians caring for at-risk children should do three things: provide correct information to parents, administer vaccine and verify correct immunisation during follow-up or routine medical visits. In Italy, at-risk children are seen by primary care physicians and by physicians in reference centres; they may also receive vaccination in vaccination centres.
