Abstract

Highlights: [•] PPy can be as a dye adsorbent owing to its reversible doping–dedoping properties. [•] Its adsorption capacity can be enhanced by introducing substrates to form composites. [•] The selected substrates impact the adsorption capacities of the composites intensively. [•] Adsorption capacity of PPy/TiO2 is about 3.6 or 5.5 times higher than that of PPy/P25 or pure PPy, respectively.
