At present, use of computer aided engineering (CAE) software is rapidly expanding in the manufacturing industry. However, the CAE software is not an easy tool to use because of its versatility and amount of expertise required to understand and evaluate simulation results. So the operation is more complex, and the error rate is higher in the engineering analysis. A CAE Intelligent Assisted Expert System (IAES) that supports Finite Element analysis was proposed and implemented. The CAE IAS is implemented based on VS2012 development environment, which is based on case and rule based reasoning. It is used to guide and assist CAE engineers to analyze the project, so that the accuracy and efficiency of the analysis are greatly improved and the product performance is better optimized.

Fragility curves for typical multi-span simply supported concrete box girder bridges in eastern China are presented. A set of bridge samples, of which five uncertain parameters are considered, is established using the Latin hypercube sampling. Nonlinear time history analyses are conducted to capture the structural response quantities. Probabilistic seismic demand models are formulated by quadratic regression analysis for the capacity/demand ratios. Fragility curves of bridge components are developed and the fragility of bridge system is evaluated using the first-order bound method. The results show that the columns and expansion bearings among bridge members are more fragile under earthquake excitation, and the bridge system is more fragile than any bridge component. The typical bridges have more than 50% probability when subjected to PGAs of 0.46, 0.58, 0.82, and 1.0g for four damage states, respectively. The fragility curves can be used for retrofit prioritization for this type of bridges.

The era of high speed railway has come and the most important issue of the high speed train is the safety, which is directly related to billions of families. One of the most serious threats to the safety of the high speed train is the vibration of train body at curve track, which may cause the train off the track. Semi-active vibration control method is a possible solution compared with active control method which has robust problem and passive control method which has efficiency issue. Magnetorheological technology is a typical semi-active vibration control method which has been widely used in the automobile, architectural construction and aerospace. The high speed train using magnetorheological technology has not been fully investigated especially for the dynamic performance at curve track. In this paper, a high-speed train model with MRF dampers is simulated by a combined ADAMS and MATLAB simulation. The dynamic performance of high speed train operating at different speeds and turning radius is investigated to reveal the mechanism of how the MRF damper affects the train’s stability and vibration. The results show that the semi-active suspension installed with MRF dampers substantially improves the stability and dynamic performance of the train at curve track.

Using BP neural network method, we calculate and analyze the molecular structure of aromatic hydrocarbons. Then, we get the electrotopological state indices and the molecular electronegativity distance vectors of 25 aromatic hydrocarbons based on the calculation of molecular structure characteristics and adjacency matrix. By regression, we get and optimize the structural parametersE9,E13,E17andM15. The four structural parameters are used as the input variables and a 4-2-1 network structure is employed to construct a BP artificial neural network model for predicting acute toxicitypEC50. The total correlation coefficientRis 0.994 and the average error between the predicted value and experimental value ofpEC50is 0.079, which indicate that the ANN model has good stability and superior predictive ability. The results show that there is a good nonlinear correlation between acute toxicitypEC50and the four structural parameters. The results of our research reveal that the toxicity of aromatic hydrocarbons is closely affected by electrotopological state indices and the molecular electronegativity distance vectors. Therefore, it will be helpful in assessing the hazard of aromatic hydrocarbons to environment.

This paper presents a scheme of information transmission system for undersea observation platform based on all-optical network. Through flexible using of WDM, OADM, EDFA, RFA, DCF and other technology, it effectively compensates chromatic dispersion, restrains nonlinear effects and noise problems. Fibers in primary nodes are directly assigned to ensure mutual independence between different transmission links. Dual-fiber bidirectional transmission mode that wavelength of one fiber drops to the node by OADM, then return to the same transmission station in the other fiber, increases the reliability of the transmission system. The simulation results show that this scheme can ensure information transmission quality and effectively achieve wavelength adding and dropping, further verify the feasibility of the scheme.

This paper investigated the problem of transmit power minimization to meet the users’ outage probability constraints in downlink smart antennas-MIMO (SA-MIMO) systems. Firstly, a downlink multi-user SA-MIMO system model is established, and the transmit power optimization problem is formulated. The optimization problem jointly optimizes the beam-forming vectors and user outage probability. Then, the outage-based optimization problem is transformed into a geometric programming problem in which the beam forming vectors were obtained by maximum diagonal element (MDE) rule. Some numerical results show that the proposed method in this paper is viable and the transmit power in downlink SA-MIMO systems significantly descreases relative to traditional MIMO systems.

Based on the investigation and indoor experiment, the flow structure and properties of erosion or deposition associated with permeable spur dike were researched. According to the new demands about engineering structure in mountain rivers regulation, the potential action of permeable spur dike in mountain river training was analyzed. The results can be showed that, as the permeable structure, the influence of permeable spur dike to main flow and flood level is less than the solid one, and the local scour depth is less too, so the permeable spur dike has larger safety. In the back of permeable spur dike, it can form a slow flow field, instead of a circumfluence field, and the deposition volume is less than solid one, so the steady slow flow field can benefit to the small aquatic animal lives. The pervious rate can be adjusted to complete training goals when the project faces to different training demands. And the material of spur dike is not limited, it can use the local materials to build, which can reduce the construction cost. The permeable spur dike have a good applicability in the control of mountain river, it can meet the requirements of flood prevention, ecology, environment, cost saving and so on, it have a greatly application prospect.

The energy consumption of several central air conditioning systems in summer was researched by the method of exergy analysis. Combined with actual example, the exergy loss of all the equipments and the exergy efficiency of three systems were calculated. The results show that the exergy efficiency of three systems is very low. Relatively speaking, the exergy efficiency of primary return air conditioning system with supplying air in dew point is highest. The equipment of highest exergy loss is air-conditioned room, while the exergy loss of surface air cooler is smallest. Based on this, several improvement measures were proposed to reduce exergy loss and improve exergy efficiency.

In this paper, the non-probabilistic reliability optimization problem of linear structural system with uncertain parameters described by interval models is proposed. The degree of the uncertainty is described by the size of the hypercube, and the maximum degree of variability the structure allows is measured by the non-probabilistic reliability index. The relation between the target of non-probabilistic reliability index and the fluctuation range of uncertain parameters is described by the geometric meaning of the reliability index. For the linear function, the uncertain parameters are expressed as the expression of the target value of non-probabilistic reliability index. Numerical example shows the validity and efficiency of the proposed method.

Typically, the selection of large aggregate particle size is mainly determined by the thickness of structures and the thickness of protective layer. The greater the aggregate diameter is, the smaller the specific surface is, and the smaller coating materials demand will be without specific requirements. It will affect the concrete flowability directly if there are too much big size of aggregates or the particle size is too big for forming a certain stable packing skeleton structure. The strength of the large diameter recycled self-compacting rock-fill concrete is low so that the primary cause of its failure mechanism is bond failure and bond slip in aggregate. Shear failure in aggregate is not easy to happen due to the strength of the aggregate is too low. For this reason, we put forward the general selection requirements for large diameter aggregate.

In order to study the effect of guardrail to main girder, simply supported beam load test is relied on to measure the deflection of main girder in different conditions, then whether guardrails involved in the stress of main beam or not in theory is analyzed to draw the conclusion that considering the guardrail in stress is closer to the actual stress of bridge and effects on stiffness of main girder are different in lateral bridge. Based on above four hypotheses are proposed and the guardrail along the bridge transverse triangular distribution to the 14% deck is in good agreement with the actual situation according to the equivalent height.

A multi-fingered hand has been used in the explosive Disposal Robot to improve the disposal ability of explosive. Grasping ability of the multi-fingered hand is a problem with the change of grasping posture. This paper discusses grasping ability of the multi-fingered robot hand. Screw theory and BP neural network are used to optimize the joint angle of the finger. The most favorite grasping posture is calculated when the multi-fingered robot hand can withstand the largest external wrench. In order to guarantee the explosive not to be exploded under the exceeding grasp force, the weight of the explosive the multi-fingered hand can hold is also discussed in this paper. It is an important theoretical guidance for the multi-fingered robot hand handling of hazardous items.
