In order to lay raw materials foundation for increasing the performance of insulating brick with the low grade quartz sand along the Yangtze River, the effect of ball milling time on the properties of quartz sand powder was researched via the ball milling method in this paper. The results show the grain diameter of quartz sand powder is gradually decreased, the grain fineness distribution is tapered narrowing. The liquidity of quartz sand powders is became poor with an increaseding the ball milling rotate speed, howerver, the tendency of variation is gradually relaxative. The vibration compaction density is decreased with an increaseding the ball milling rotate speed, but the fall amplitude difference is gradually shrinked. The ball milling rotate speed for 250r/min is better through the whole cost performance analysis.

With the development of science and technology, the more and more demand of ultra-fine powder is showed. The ZrB2/A1(OH)3-Y(OH)3 core-shell composite particles already are synthesized. To obtain the better A1(OH)3-Y(OH)3 composite shell, the higher coating ratio on the ZrB2 particles surfaces to prepare high performance multiphase ceramics, the classification of ZrB2 raw material is investigated by the sedimentation method. The sedimentation time of classing ZrB2 particles is decided for 30 minutes to reach fine ZrB2 particles with smaller size and narrower distribution is obtained.

With the fast development of preparing technology of new materials, the solving method of conglobation and decentralization problem of superfine powders already is key technology for preparing and developing new high-performance materials. Through investigating the dispersibility mechanism of particles in the liquor, the dispersibility mechanism is applied for the dispersibility of ZrB2 particles with the sedimentation method. When pH is 9, the dispersibility of ZrB2 particles is the best than that of other pH, the dispersibility of ZrB2 particles using dispersant in the ZrB2 suspension is better than that of using pure deionized water, the dispersibility of ZrB2 particles adding polymethacrylic acid ammonium in the ZrB2 suspension is the best than other conditions.

YAG is widely applied as the structure materials and the functional materials because of some excellent performances in the chemistry. The pure superfine YAG powder materials are prepared via the co-precipitation method after calcining the precursor of YAG at 1100°C. The superfine YAG powders has the better dispersion, the particle size distribution range is narrow bewteen 200 and 350nm. The superfine YAG mainly show near-spherical, and partly sintering behavior among the particles.

The sintering temperature of the quartz sand heat insulating materials were researched thtough the differential analysis of the mixture in this paper. The conclusion show the density of the quartz sand heat insulating brick is increased with increasing sintering temperature, but the porosity of the quartz sand heat insulating materials is opposite discipline curve. The outside shape of the brick body is regular at 1100°C, however, the outside shape of the brick body is irregular at 1150°C, but the porosity of the quartz sand heat insulating materials at 1130°C is lower than that of the quartz sand heat insulating materials at 1100°C. The sintering temperature is higher, the more energy will be consumed. So the better sintering temperature of the quartz sand heat insulating materials is decided at 1100°C through analyzing the performance price ratio of the quartz sand heat insulating materials.
