The accurate measurement of labor productivity data can mean the difference between the success and failure of a building construction project. Due to the sheer diversity and complexity of international building construction practices, minimal research has been performed on comparative labor productivity between countries. In this paper, the authors present a research project that was conducted by comparing the Chinese labor productivity with the U.S. labor productivity in building construction projects. The labor productivity data were collected from different jobsites in the U.S. and China by using a time-study method with established data collection procedures. Furthermore, work sampling in the HVAC system work category was used as a method to gather information about the amount of labor productive and nonproductive work hours spent on construction activities. It is certain that there are many factors affecting productivity in the building construction process. With the lack of timely and effective project quality supervision, construction quality cannot be guaranteed. For this reason, various statistical analysis methods were applied to analyze and compare the collected productivity data from both countries. Findings of this productivity comparison can provide industry practitioners the advancement of knowledge in the Chinese building construction industry and it can support benchmarking and continuous improvement of productivity with a greater efficiency in both the US and Chinese building construction markets.

In this paper, a new sliding-mode observer (SMO) for sensorless control of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is proposed. The observer is built based on the study of the back electromotive force (EMF) equivalent control. The new SMO, which substitues a hyperbolic tangent function for the signum function with a variable boundary layer, can reduce the chattering phenomenon. In order to overcome the time delay, we cancelled the low-pass filter and phase compensation module. In this way, not only the structure of the observer is simplified, but also the estimation precision is improved. The simulation results prove that the new SMO has a good dynamic performance and static quality.

Most of resource-based cities (RBC) are the result of resource-based industrialization processes and were built on mining areas, leading to heterogeneous composition and distribution of urban areas which were lacking of proper urban planning guidance. The unique urbanization processes in RBC resulted in severe fragmentation of habitats and environmental exacerbation and generated negative impacts to human well-being. In this research, an assessment model based on ecological footprint (EF) and ecological carrying capacity (EC) was used to detect the trend of urbanization in Tangshan city. In this model, we created four new indicators which could enrich EF and EC with economic and social dimensions, and categorized six types of ecological footprints into three main kinds of ecological footprints. The results indicated that (a) the EF per capita and the EC per capita have had enormous increment and decrement respectively; (b) ecological tension and ecological occupancy presented a constant increasing trend while the ecological sustainability was continuously decreasing in this period; and (c) almost all of the six indicators were in an unbalanced status in the comprehensive grading system worldwide. We suggest that (a) a diversified energy consumption structure and an energy-saving urban system should be accomplished in the future urban regulation; (b) any shrinkage of fisheries should be avoided in the future urban regulation, and coastal protection and offshore fishing should be prioritized.

We propose a tapered fiber-optic based surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor. The plasmonic sensing is designed by coating the waist of tapered fiber-optic with gold. The transmission spectrum of SPR wavelength were investigated by 2D finite element method (FEM). The calculation shows that the dips of the resonance wavelength shift toward long wave direction with the thickness of gold film decreasing. And increasing the diameters of the waist core of tapered fiber-optic also makes the resonance wavelength shift long wave direction. Furthermore, changing the refractive index of the external samples from 1.333 to 1.343 with step of ~0.002, the SPR wavelength shifts linearly from 575.05nm to 472.5nm. With the advantages of small size, cost efficient, low noise, energy saving, fine definition and high current, UAV has been widely used in various fields such as military, agriculture, forestry,meteorology, environment, etc. Moreover, this technique can obtain large area, large angle and 3D surface information without shadows resulting from cloud cover which is the common shortage insatellite images, it is also widespread in geological hazards monitoring. In this article, the applications of hazards monitoring using UAV has been reviewed at first, then according to the needof landslide monitoring, based on UAV data processing in geological hazard in east-north of Chongqing on 31th August, 2014, route planning method for lightweight and low altitude UAV inmountainous district is introduced, also the workflow and relevant experiences of UAV data processing by applying Agisoft photoscan software. After data processing, both geo-referencedDSM and DOM of landslide are obtained by interpolation with assistance of chosen GPS control points. The interpolated topographic map of landslide can provide important information forgeological hazards monitoring and emergency relief.

Gas emission happens after coal and gas outburst, and it could cause secondary disasters in the roadway. Therefore it is necessary to research gas concentration distribution law in the roadway after coal and gas outburst, and theoretical basis for avoiding the occurrence of secondary disasters could be provided. Based on the above, Fluent is used to simulate gas concentration distribution law in the roadway during outburst. The research results show that gas velocity of the initial stage is larger in the whole process of gas outburst and gas emission impacts opposite walls in the form of jet in the roadway intersection. The flow changes direction and moves along the main airway and return airway. It produces countercurrent along the main airway. Because the pressure in the main airway is high, gas migration velocity becomes zero after a certain distance and is "back" to return airway. The higher the outburst velocity is, the longer the flow length is. Gas concentration variation with two kinds of different outburst intensities and position are regressed and it shows that correlation coefficients of power function are the highest. The research results have a certain theoretical value to prevent the occurrence of secondary disasters after coal and gas outburst.

In this paper, we propose a real time method to detect vehicles on road by using a vehicle mounted monocular camera. Based on lane detection design, low time cost and high accuracy vehicle detecting and tracking algorithm is achieved. Robust and fast lane detection has been achieved using Hough transform in combination with a line merging method. The lane data are used for effective vehicle hypothesis generation. A subsequent validation, based on the area ratio of hypothesis vehicle, is used to eliminate false positives. Further, a data fusion mechanism is proposed to incorporate temporal information for stably updating vehicle detection results over time. Experimental results show that, without specific hardware and software optimizations, our method is able to detect vehicles on road with low false alarm rate at real time speeds of 30 frames per second.

The Grad-Shafranov equation is solved by EFIT code in J-TEXT tokamak. In this paper, it applies EFIT code to analyze the evolution of some plasma parameters during the discharge of J-TXET tokamak. Through plasmas balance calculation, the pressure of plasmas, internal magnetic surface and plasma current density profile are given. It provides important reference data for the operation and control of the J-TXET tokamak discharge.

In this paper, a new sensorless speed control strategy which is based on a new sliding-mode observer (SMO) is proposed for permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The rotor position is estimated by the back electromotive force (EMF). In order to improve the estimation accuracy, the speed estimator is proposed, which replace the method of direct differential. The Lyapunov theory is applied to prove the stability of the designed system. The simulation results indicate that the proposed sensorless speed control system of permanent-magnet synchronous motor based on a new sliding-mode observer is effective and feasible.

There are a large proportion of rear end collisions in a road accident. Based on high level brake lights, the authors developed a set of warning system to reflect the size of the braking force of the front moving vehicle. The rear moving vehicle would be correctly understand brake intention of the front moving vehicle according to vivid, intuitive and timely high level light signal. Thus, the following vehicle would take appropriate measures promptly according to further reduce the probability of rear-end collision accidents.

CrSiN coatings of different silicon content were deposited on 1Cr18Ni9Ti austenitic stainless by d.c. reactive magnetron sputtering in a closed field unbalanced system. Comparative studies on microstructure and mechanical properties between CrN and CrSiN coatings with various Si contents were carried out. The structure of the CrSiN coatings was found to change from crystalline to amorphous structure as the Si contents increased. Amorphous phase of Si3N4 compound was suggested to exist in the CrSiN coatings. The crystalline grain became smaller in CrSiN coatings. With the increasing Si content, the coating deposition rate slew down, while the hardness of coatings improved obviously and the best hardness was about 4200 HV0.01 when the Si content was 1.13%.

The paper gives the design scheme and design parameters of the new wave energy converter. It's composed of the wave energy converter unit, which can be assembled to arrays based on demand. Besides, the paper analyzes the power generation principle and advantages of the device. The research results could be a reference for wave energy’s exploration and utilization.

On account of that common subsynchronous resonance controllers cannot well adapt to the time-varying and nonlinear characteristics of power system, biogeography-based optimization (BBO) algorithm is introduced to design subsynchronous damping controller optimally based on the mechanism of suppressing SSO by static var compensator (SVC). The simulatied results of Jinjie plant indicate that the subsynchronous damping controller optimized by BBO algorithm can remarkably improve the damping of torsional modals and thus effectively depress the multimodal SSO, ensuring the safety and stability of units and power grid operation.

In order to explore the possibility of using repeatedly recycling waste concrete as aggregate to produce structural concrete, experimental research was carried out on the structural properties of three kinds of recycled fine aggregate (RFA) with two-regeneration cycles, two single and one mixed. The results showed that the quality of all RFAs meet the needs of Grade Ⅲ in GB/T25177-2010 and Level L in JISA 5023-2000. The degree of performance degradation is observed to enhance with increasing recycling cycle when taking the same preparation process of recycled aggregate.

AIIM To explore the optimal ultrasonic extraction process of volatile oil from prunus tomentosa and analyze the component. METHODS The orthogonal test was carried out with volatile oil rate t as the index,the grinding degree of material, solvent, ratio of material to liquid, ultrasonic time as factors by ultrasonic extraction method,the components were analyzed by GC-MS. RESULTS The main factors that affect the extraction of volatile oil from Prunus tomentosa thunb is extraction, followed by ultrasonic time and.grinding degree. A3B2C1D3 was the best extraction condition: Selection of ethyl ether as extraction agent, the particle size is 30 mesh, the 1:10 ratio of material to liquid, ultrasonic time for 40 min. GC-MS techniques were applied to analyze the chemical constituents of volatile oil, six kinds of main components were isolated and identified ,accumulating for 92.82% of the total volatile oil content . CONCLUSION The Ultrasonic extraction time is short, easy operation, high yield, experiment verified that the extraction rate is 0.6270% under the optimum extraction conditions and identified six main components.

The practices also prove that this material can produce excellent thermal conservation effect when it is applied to building with the request for thermal insulation and energy conservation. In light of the fact that the thermal insulation gazed hollow bead mortar hasn’t been spread in Luliang rural area, taking the actual environment in this area and the special method of the building’s construction into consideration, the construction technology of the thermal insulation gazed hollow bead mortar regarding the thermal insulation and energy conservation of the residential wall will be expounded.

This paper provides the opportunity to present the performance evaluation results of Shanghai’s bus lane system in 2012. The evaluation results show that development of Shanghai’s bus lane system has fallen into a dilemma. The effectiveness of bus lanes was presenting a descending tendency. The average travel speed of bus lanes was only 14.6km/h, which was lower than the baseline of Shanghai’s transit metropolis construction targets. “Empty lane syndrome” existed in three newly implemented bus lanes. After 2010 Shanghai Expo, no new bus lane was built and the construction of bus lane came to a standstill. Lax enforcement resulted in high violation rates, which significantly reduced bus speed. Due to the increasing congestion in general purpose lanes and underutilization of bus lanes, attitudinal survey results revealed a negative public sentiment towards bus lanes. The grim situation urges a transition to sustainable development of bus lanes, namely, back to way to seek for efficiency and quality instead of blindly expansion.

This paper improves the utility function considering travel time and cost, and establishes the concept of value of travel time of Guangzhou High Education Center students. Through the analysis of the public-transportation system to the outside of Guangzhou High Education Center at present, this paper provides optimizing suggestions.

Thermal insulation glazed hollow bead concrete is a new building material, which is bearing general physical and mechanical properties of concrete. Experimental study of concrete after high-temperature, it is different from the ordinary concrete, because there is component of glazed hollow bead. In this paper, based on the observations and analysis of thermal insulation glazed hollow bead concrete after high temperature under electron microscope and comparison with ordinary concrete, the failure mechanism of thermal insulation glazed hollow bead concrete after high temperature are obtained.

According to the multiple matching principles of hydraulic torque converter and engine, a multi-objective optimization mathematical model is established. Genetic Algorithm is used to optimize the matching mathematical model, because the search process is not easy to fall into local optimum. The matching example of YJSW315 type hydraulic torque converter and WD615.67G3-28 type engine is optimized. The design variables’ optimization results are obtained and the figure of optimization results is shown. The matching evaluation indicators of automobile power performance and economy are compared before and after optimization. We can find out that maximum output of hydraulic torque converter torque, highly effective rotational speed range, highly effective torque range, average power output of full working condition range and efficient working condition range are all increased, at the same time, average fuel consumption rate of full working condition range and efficient working condition range are decreased. In accordance with the optimization results, we can see that GA can be used to optimize the matching of engine and hydraulic torque converter.

Using least square method for fitting to improve the accuracy of three coordinate measuring machine. Last to assess and maintain the accuracy of the measurement machine.

In this paper, a model of the winding area for a normal working oil-immersed power (180MVA, 220kV) was built to conduct the simulation analysis for heat transfer of fluid field. Based on the fundamental mechanisms of fluid mechanics, limited volume method was used to build the model of the winding area of the power transformer. The effect of the oil input velocity, the amount and the position of oil baffle plate were concluded. The reasonable method to control the temperature was purposed by analyzing the heat-transfer properties for different conditions. When the initial oil velocity was 0.3-0.4 m/s during forced oil circulation, the best heat transfer was achieved. For the natural oil circulation, inserting 3 oil baffle plates at the higher temperature winding ends, when the number of the next two oil baffle plates is 7, the heat delivery effect is best.

Mine tubular belt conveyor is a special belt-conveyor which uses closed transportation way to transport material, Unloading frame is one of the important structures of its unloading device, and its structural strength affect the running conditions of the machine. For this purpose, based on a certain type of mine tubular belt conveyor, this paper introduced the structure design and force calculation of its unloading frame, and took structural strength and stiffness analysis by ANSYS. Analysis results showed that Unloading frame meet the design requirements, but for ensuring the normal operation of the machine, the welding quality of unloading frame should also be considered.

Lignin was obtained from black liquor of papermaking by the acid to separation, and carbonized after loading various amounts of nickel and calcium or nickel alone. The influences of the temperature, amount of nickel and amount of calcium on the crystallized size (Lc) and the electromagnetic shielding (EMS) capacities in the range of 50~800 MHz for the chars from lignin were investigated. The results showed that Lc and EMS capacities in the entire of frequency of the chars with 6wt% calcium increased with increasing amount of the nickel loaded and also increased with increasing carbonization temperature from 700 to 900°C. Some amounts of calcium significantly enhanced the formation of crystallized carbon. Lc and EMS capacities of the chars with loaded 8wt% nickel increased with increasing amount of calcium and then decreased. It was founded that chars of lignin with co-loading of 8wt% nickel and 6wt% calcium were suitable as EMS materials with exceeding a practical standard of EMS capacity (30dB) in the range of 50~800 MHz.

In this paper, we present an algorithm for voice speed changing and pitch shifting based on TD-PSOLA. MATLAB simulation results indicate this algorithm can effectively improve the precision of pitch detection and convert speech into desired one. After the algorithm being realized and optimized, a real-time system is implemented on DSP, which can produce desired fundamental frequency and duration.

Considering the node residual energy and the collection cycle of the destination nodes, this paper improved a WSN routing and sleeping algorithm based on the AODV routing algorithm. This algorithm establishes routing path based on the node residual energy and the node collection cycle. Node sleeping cycle determined after the routing path has been established. By routing path selection and appropriate sleeping cycle this algorithm can reduce overall energy consumption and avoid excessive energy consumption of some individual nodes.

Top-Nqueries are employed in a wide range of applications to obtain a ranked list of data objects that have the highest aggregate scores over certain attributes. The threshold algorithm (TA) is an important method in many scenarios. However, TA is effective only when the ranking function is monotone and the query point is fixed. In the paper, we propose an approach that alleviates the limitations of TA-like methods for processing top-Nqueries. Based onp-norm distances as ranking functions, our methods utilize the fundamental principle of Functional Analysis so that the candidate tuples of top-Nquery with ap-norm distance can be obtained by the Maximum distance. We conduct extensive experiments to prove the effectiveness and efficiency of our method for both low-dimensional (2, 3 and 4) and high-dimensional (25,50 and 104) data.

Getting the real-time information of spatial data, height and length of weld bead is the key point during the process of grinding and polishing large-scale part. To tackle this problem, a robot visual system is completed by building the double CCD and the laser on the mobile robot. Combining the image search algorithm with the image preprocessing algorithm in time domain, the laser single pixel feature line is obtained. The positions of each point in feature line are optimized by curve fitting so that the right spatial data and dimension are obtained. The result shows the proposed method can provides the precise information of weld bead, and the accuracy of measurement is within 0.15mm, as steady as repeatability.

Taking the configuration design of the lifting device in a bridge crane as an example, this paper discusses the green optimal design method of enterprise's modular products with uncertain factors. The multi-layer generalized operators and comprehensive mathematical model under uncertainty are established based on the mapping relationship between product function and its structure. The model is transformed to an ascertaining combinatorial optimization model by de-fuzzy operator, and then it is solved by GA (Genetic Algorithm, GA). The method of chromosome encoding in binary that the chromosome is segmented by components and the genes in each segment are ranged as corresponding structures of each component, and the methods of selection and crossover and mutation operator are presented in this paper. The result of the green configuration design on the lifting device verifies the effectiveness and practical value of the method proposed in this paper.

Different node layout density exist in farmland wireless sensor network monitoring, but the existing wireless sensor network topology control algorithm does not take uneven node distribution into consideration. And the node residual energy issue is not considered in the commonly used LMST topology control algorithm either. This paper presents a wireless sensor network hybrid topology control algorithm which considered both the uneven distribution of network nodes and the residual energy issue. Firstly, this algorithm clustering in the high node density areas based on node degree to reduce overall energy consumption. Secondly this algorithm use nodes residual energy based LMST topology control algorithm to achieve energy balance among network nodes. This improved algorithm ultimately achieved the purpose of prolonging the network lifetime.

To investigate the occurrence and species diversity of mycobacteria in different animals, lymphonodi mandibulares and lymphonodi mesenterici samples were collected from slaughter house of swine and cattle. Mycobacteria in each lymphonodi sample were isolated by decontamination using cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) and cultivation on Lowenstein-Jensen medium and Middlebrook 7H9 agar, and then identified by nacterial smear, sequencing of 16SrDNA and the 65-kDa heat-shock protein gene (hsp65 gene). The most frequently isolated species was Mycobacterium fortuitum. The result demonstrated that animals are an important environmental source of mycobacteria and the combined application of 16SrDNA and hsp65 sequencing was more reliable to accurately identify mycobacteria present in animals.

The simulation model of cannon established by RecurDyn, compared the ordinary pneumatic tire and inner support when cannon equip different tire, we get the cannon in the process of driving dynamics characteristic, it provides theory for the internal support tire equipping.

The primary object of this fundamental research is to reveal the application of genetic algorithm improved on the optimization design of cantilever supporting structure. In order to meet the strength of pile body and pile top displacement as well as design variables subjected to constraint, an algorithm is carried on to seek the optimum solution and relevant examples by means of comprehensively considering the effects on center-to-center spacing between piles,pile diameter and quantity of distributed steel, which is taken the lowest engineering cost as objective function. Through the comparison of the optimized scheme and original design, this fruitful work provides explanation to the effectiveness of genetic algorithm in optimization design. These findings of the research lead to the conclusion that the shortcomings of traditional design method is easy to fall into local optimal solution. The new optimization method can overcome this drawback.

With the need of fast 3D city modeling, a new UAVS (unmanned aerial vehicle system) for low altitude aerial photogrammetry is introduced, including the platform airship, sensor system four-combined wide-angle camera and 3D modelling method. Based on the test in Henan province of China with this system, it is demonstrated that this low-altitude aerial photogrammetric system can get high resolution images with multiple views. With the vector models of the buildings and texture mapping technology, it is easy to carry out 3D city modelling. This work provides a possible for fast 3D city modelling.

From the risk theoretical point of view, static security risk indicators of the transmission grid are built on the basis of the probability theory, grid static security risk indicators, including overload risk indicators and voltage-limit risk indicators. For both risk indicators, the probability of the outage of one line is considered, as well as in the case of the uncertainty of the power system the serious consequences caused by the outage of one line. And the overload risk assessment model and voltage-limit risk assessment model are built. Finally, quantitative assessment and calculation are done through the standard system examples of these two static safety risk indicators, then assess and sort the transmission lines of the importance based on the simulation results.
