A substractive hybridization (SH) technique was used to perform comparative genome analyses to identify genetic differences between two Oenococcus oeni isolates with different tolerances for the wine environment. The findings revealed great genetic diversity among the various strains of Oenococcus oeni strains and highlighted the role of insertion/deletion (indel) events in creating diversity.
