This paper studied the relationship between sigma-type attribute-based identification and sigma-type identity-based identification and proposed a generic construction of sigma-type decentralized attribute-based identification. The generic construction used the smooth secret sharing scheme to transform the sigma-type identity-based identification into the decentralized attribute-based identification. Using the reduction method, this paper proved the security of the proposed construction. This paper presented a concrete instance of sigma-type decentralized attribute-based identification obtained by the proposed construction and compressed it with the previous schemes. The performance analysis shows that this scheme is better in both data length and computation cost. Furthermore, this scheme is decentralized, which overcomes the bottleneck problem and security weakness of the single attribute authority system, and then is more applicable. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
