POLITICAL organizations , *MISSING persons , *TRANSITIONAL justice , *CAUSES of death , *SUICIDE - Abstract
In July 2019 Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro got public attention after giving controversial statements about the cause of death of a member of the revolutionary organization Ação Popular Marxista-Leninista, Fernando Augusto de Santa Cruz Oliveira, who was declared a missing person since 1974. Although the State had already taken responsibility for his death using transitional justice means, president Bolsonaro ignored that fact and blamed the political organization he belonged to, without showing any evidence. President Bolsonaro pleaded that Fernando Augusto de Santa Cruz Oliveira was killed by one of the organization members, because of loss of trust. Besides the fact that the president took the responsibility out of the State, he assigned the victim as a dishonored person. Assuming the facts that support Fernando de Santa Cruz was captured and executed by the repressive regime that was in place in Brazil, the goal of this paper is to analyze the dead and missing people cases related to members and leaders from the Marxist-Leninist Ação Popular. The intention is to review the events in the history of APML concomitant to its strategy of resistance and combat against the dictatorship. Also, the purpose of the paper is to analyze how the cases of dead and missing people were conducted by the transitional justice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AGRICULTURAL policy , *INTERVENTION (Federal government) , *NINETEENTH century , *ASTRONAUTICS , *TWENTIETH century - Abstract
This article intends to analyze the ideas about the creation of a model of Ministry of Agriculture implanted in the first quarter of the 20th century in Brazil and in the last years of the 19th century in Argentina. These ministries give us the policies directed to the adoption of a scientific agriculture in both countries. The paper raises questions about the advances of agronomic science and the interaction with an increasing state intervention in agriculture. The analysis is mainly focused in the contrasts and similarities with other producing countries and the consequences of the circulation of knowledge and technologies in these spaces. It also outlines a profile of the sugar production growth as a decisive factor to the sugar producers’ new demands for educational and research institutions in these sugar-related areas. The present work is the first approximation to the process of constitution and operation of a technicians’ network based on Argentinian and Brazilian sources, such as bulletins and technical leaflets. ENVIRONMENTAL history , *NAVAL history , *MILITARY history , *COLLEGE environment , *MILITARY research , *MARITIME history - Abstract
Naval History has been a subdomain of Maritime and Military Histories. It can be subdivided into Central Naval History when it refers to classical Military History, encompassing research in the military and operational fields, Auxiliary when referring to Science, Technology and biographies and Cognate when it relates to other domains of history, having the sea as fulcrum, including using theoretical tools from other fields of History. In Brazil there are few theses and dissertations of Naval History in the university environment. Taking into account CAPES Thesis and Dissertations Catalogue between 2016 and 2018, a survey of the percentage of academic papers correlated to Naval History was conducted in the considered period. The relationship between the total number of defenses in the period with the number of Naval History works was verified, as well as the number of investigations in the three subfields of Naval History, the Central, the Auxiliary and Cognate concluding by the insufficiency of research in this area in Brazil and the reasons for this situation. This paper aims to investigate the establishment of a field of academic history in Brazil, by means of USP’s Revista de História, founded in 1950. Through the contents of the 1950’s issues we identify, in the publication, a period of closeness between professionals coming from the IHGSP and others from the university itself. That points to a transition period between a so-called traditional history and a new professional history in Brazil, already during the 1950’s. It is also possible to sort out the traditional periods of the relationship between the Annales and the so called USP school of History, through the analyses of elements that accompany texts published by French historians and some others published by professors such as Eurípedes Simões de Paula, Eduardo d’Oliveira França and Astrogildo Rodrigues de Mello. WOMEN , *SOCIAL conditions of women , *MUSEUMS - Abstract
The historical museums, such as the monuments, have been understood as images the societies produce for the future. However, this concept of museums as maintainers and guardians of the memory of a community or a locality is been revised. The city of Londrina, even though fairly new, preserves by various means a praise of the memory of certain groups, called 'pioneers'. The challenging of such memorial practices and inclusion of new actors is quite controversial and costly. Thus, this paper aims to reflect on the representations of women in the language of the Historical Museum of Londrina. To this end, it is proposed to analyze a temporary exhibition placed in that Museum: "Caring, Healing, Remember - memory of the health in Londrina." Therefore, we will investigate what (s) language (s) the MHL aligns to and presents itself for the public. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper broaches the cinema censorship in Brazil along the civil-military dictatorship (1964-1965) by means of the study of an official document found in the proceedings of the film Toda nudez será castigada (Brazil, 1973), by the director Arnaldo Jabor. The Ordinance 3/3, of June 20, 1973, attributed to itself the reexamination and decision over this film and other eight ones - Sopro no coração (France, 1971), A classe operária vai ao paraíso (Italy, 1971), Mimi, o metalúrgico (Italy,1972), Sacco e Vanzetti (Italy, 1971), A aventura é uma aventura (France, 1972), Cama com música (Denmark, 1972), Queimada (England, 1969) e Os garotos virgens de Ipanema (Brazil, 1973). These proceedings are analyzed along with other ones that compound the archive of the Censorship and Public Amusement Division (DCDP), which contains over thirty thousand proceedings, besides administrative documents. The aim is to understand the reading keys used by censors and the negotiations for prohibition and liberation performed by DCDP. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper presents the results of research that aimed to understand the institutionalization of the first ethnic schools in Parana, its form of organization of the curriculum and how articulated the historical process of the country in the early of the First Republic. On the other hand, the immigration process accelerated the colonization movement in Paraná, with occupation of empty spaces propitious to the development of agriculture, trade and industry and the substitution of slave labor by wage labor. Thus, there was encouraging the development of cities, which stimulated trade and encouraged the setting up of infrastructure. In this historical context seek to understand the importance of the role and influence of ethnic schools for the educational organization in Parana until their extinction with the nationalization policy which caused changes in the organization of these didactic and educational institutions. The theoretical-methodological axis allows to reconstruct a totalitarian history, analyzing the determinants of economic, political and social. MUSEUMS - Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present the preliminary results of a survey of about five hundred subway users of Belo Horizonte (MG), particularly in the boarding platform of the Central Station. One of the reasons offered by museologist Pierre-Yves Catel and by the staff who took part in the assembly and organization of the Museum of Arts and Crafts (Museu de Artes e Ofícios -MAO), for the occupation of the building of the Central Station and its reinterpretation, which turned it into a museum institution - dedicated to the history/memory of work and the workers -was that, at that place, it would be possible to find "a potential audience of one million visitors a year coming by underground". In this sense, the research seeks to understand, especially, the relationship that is established, at present, between the subway user and the Museum. However, before disclosing the data of this investigation, it was necessary to analyze some aspects concerning the history of MAO and also some aspects of the long-term exhibition presented to the audience since the inauguration of the mentioned institution, in 2006. HISTORY education , *TEACHING methods , *COURSE content (Education) , *CURRICULUM , *BASIC education , *SOCIALISM , *NATIONALISM , *MODERNITY - Abstract
One of the main problems of Didactics -general and specific, in this case, the History Didactics- is the problem of selection and organization of teaching contents. Considering the complexity and historicity of this task, this paper searches the historical foundations of choosing and organizing contents for the Brazilian History and General History teaching, since the discipline origins at the nineteenth century to the great lines of contemporary organization of contents. It is presupposed that the effects of modernity, nationalism and European view moulds and impose conditions to the scholar discipline, generating characterristics that remain until today, imposing limitations to changing projects. At the meantime, the decolonization processes supports alternative projects of History and History teaching, among them we have the America's History, presented at Brazil in the beginning of twentieth century. With the critical reservation to the four parts traditional division of the General History and three parts traditional division of Brazil's National History, the following proposals of didactical treatment of historical contents are schematized: traditional General and National History (lineal and traditional approaches), Integrated History, Thematic History, regressive or retrospective History and History throughout the Means of Production of the Marxism.
