The behavior of three raw cotton fabrics of different basic weaves and approximate yarn settings and yarn counts, when subjected to tensile deformation, is described in this article. The values of the breaking force in the fabric in the linen weave have the highest mean numerical value, while the cotton fabric in the atlas weave has the lowest values. The fabric in the twill weave has the highest values for elongation at break, while the lowest values are present in the fabric in the atlas weave. The fabric in linen weave is the most resistant to external deformations, while the fabric in twill and atlas weaves are the weakest. The standard deviation and coefficient of variation for fabrics in all weaves have values that move within a range that confirms the validity of the results. In some cases, larger variations of these statistical data mean that these results can be taken with a certain amount of caution. It seems that there are a lot of latent stresses in the fabric, which are relaxed during the action of the tearing force, causing greater variations in the measurement results. Deformation curves after nonlinear fitting of the breaking force-elongation at break dependence are described by polynomial equations of the fourth and fifth degree, with the fact that about 99% of the variability of the dependent variable can be explained by means of the analyzed independent variables. Polynomial models are practically usable because they can predict with high reliability the deformation behavior of fabrics with similar weaves in the direction of the warp. The fabrics with longitudinal stripes have become more common both by their structure and diversity of appearance, and also the products made of them, this being the reason they occupy an important place in fabrics production. Associating links with equal or different average float produces a profound change in the internal fabric structure, giving it a permanent and stable character in stripe appearance. The stripe effect obtained by weaving technology provides stripping stability to the stripes, both in the humidthermal finishing processes and in the current maintenance, in the wearing process (repeated washings). Also due to their structure, striped fabrics obtained by weaving technology can not be replaced by other fabrics whose stripes are obtained by other methods and technologies. This is the reason why, in most cases, striped fabrics obtained by weaving technology are preferred, and not striped fabrics obtained by other processes, such as printing. From the point of view of the structure, the particularities of striped fabrics obtained by the weaving technology, consist in the way the basic parameters - the connection, the density and the fineness of the yarns, as well as the auxiliary parameters - the curling degree, the dimensional change of the threads by integrating it into the fabric, influence their internal structure. The relationship of the longitudinal strip line depends on the fundamental diagonal link ratio, if it is the even or odd number, and the number of (Xi) lines in the stripe with weft and warp effect. The check pattern fabrics produced through the association of groups of yarns with different weaves, setting and/or lengthwise density have equal dimensions of the weave repeat along the two directions, longitudinal and cross making checks. The check effect at these fabrics is produced by simultaneously associating on cross and longitudinal stripes, the weaves with significantly different mean float, resulting in a contrasting appearance that can be outlined by using, at the same time, different colors. The algorithm for the mass calculus for the check pattern fabric from weave through the method of yarns number is presented as a flow chart, where the sequence of calculi is based on the logics of the dependence of data processing, in order to obtain the mass value per yarn systems and per the whole fabric. The flow chart has been conceived such that it can also be used as the basis for the development of a logical diagram meant to serve at the realization of a computer assisted design software. The check pattern fabrics produced through the association of groups of yarns with different weaves, setting and/or lengthwise density have equal dimensions of the weave repeat along the two directions, longitudinal and cross making checks. The analysis of the existing correlations between the components of the fabric internal structure, and of the possibilities offered by the mathematical modeling applied to the description of the fabric structure, led to the conclusion that the only method through which one can obtain a check pattern fabric through the association of groups of yarns with weaves with significantly different mean float is that of sizing the composing elements such that to provide an equal degree of compactness on all the fabric, no matter the zone and character of the associating weave. The algorithm for mass calculus of the fabrics with check pattern from weave by means of the yarn setting method is described within a flow chart which also serves as basis of a logical diagram for the development of a computer assisted design software.
