Abstract

Second through fifth instars and adult male and female genitalia of Rhabdocephala brunnea Van Duzee are described and illustrated. In Arizona, nymphs and adults were collected from a perennial bunchgrass, bush muhly, Muhlenbergia porteri Scribn. ex Beal, which is the first documented host for this fulgorid. Grass-feeding habits have not been reported previously in the Fulgoridae, host plant records of whose members are reviewed.
