Abstract

The article presents a study which examines Eating Assessment Tool's (EAT-10's) ability to predict the aspiration risk in dysphagia patients. The study uses data on Penetration Aspiration Scale (PAS), EAT-10, and total pharyngeal transit (TPT) time from a videofluoroscopic swallow study of dysphagia patients between January 2012 and January 2013. Results show that gastroesophageal reflux, postirradiation dysphagia, and cricopharyngeal bar are the causes of dysphagia.
