This paper builds on Shift-Share analysis and aims to provide a methodological framework for studying the inequalities of Greek regions in the tourism industry. The method applied to yearly data of overnight stays, both for foreigners, and domestic visitors, for the periods 2003–2008, 2008–2013, 2013–2018, and results showing that disparities among Greek regions are generally very large for the tourism industry. The overall analysis is a useful tool for tourism management and regional policy. The paper advances Shift-Share analysis to be used as a tool of region classification, and it incorporates one-way ANOVA to examine the relationship between the inequalities concerns the policies from the last development law and tourism specialization in Greek regions. Festivals are large scale events that can have profound impacts on the host communities. Using the sustainable consumption framework to assess the sociodemographic characteristics of sustainably-minded event attendees, this paper determines the relationship between both at home and while-travelling sustainability practices by gender, socioeconomic status, and family status. Using a factorial repeated-measures ANOVA from 424 renaissance festival attendee surveys, this study shows that Faire attendees are more engaged in sustainable behaviours at home than while travelling, and that women outscored men on 11 of the 14 behaviours analysed. This paper presents a systematic literature review on coopetition based on researches published during 20 years. The main objective was to verify how the scholars are performing the transposition of this knowledge for tourism. A secondary goal was to outline a research agenda on tourism coopetition towards a new paradigm. Coopetition perspective supports the organizational form of tourism destinations, for the high level of interdependence and complementarity in the inter-organizational networks of tourism. Our results indicated that the topic is underexploited in tourism studies, yet it shows promising findings to apply in the industry. Coopetition is seen as resource or capacity for tourism destination; however, the scholars will make more progress when they understand coopetition as a multidimensional and relative construction. This paper discusses a comprehensive study of employers' perceptions of Indian tourism graduates towards assessing measurable qualities. For the purpose of this paper, only the service-based skills such as basic understanding and skills, destination stewardship skills, political and ethical skills, enhanced human resource skills, and dynamic business skills are discussed. A total of 520 employers from travel agencies and tour operators in India were chosen for the survey by using a set of questionnaires on five-point Likert scale. The respondents were mainly come from high-ranking personnel in their firm (responsible for recruitment). The outcomes of this study provide educators a useful guide to develop tourism curricula and teaching methods in order to prepare graduates to cope successfully with a fast-changing tourism business environment. This article explores the spending literature in the field of hospitality and tourism management to achieve a better understanding of the evolution of this stream. The paper uses a bibliometric approach and is based on 124 papers published in seven leading hospitality and tourism journals from 1990 to 2011. The findings have revealed that the weight of spending literature appeared less than expected. The amount of spending research was primarily published in tourism journals, and in particular in the Journal of Tourism Research, followed by Annals of Tourism Research. In contrast, hospitality journals contributed marginally to the debate. Two fields of analysis emerge as primary research areas: determinants of tourist expenditures and measurement of economic impacts. The former stream contains a large number of research studies. This paper discusses the influence of tourism planning policies and their interventions in the city of Antalya. In this context, tourism development policies and projects on Antalya, which are strongly influenced by central government, are evaluated by making a general historical overview on the tourism planning policy of Turkey. It is seen that big tourism development plans, projects and land allocations made by the central government, stimulated explosive tourism development and influenced the city of Antalya. Mass tourism development strategy has created socio-spatial segregation and environmentally less-sensitized tourism growth in Antalya. The exponential growth of Turkish tourism made the industry an important area of employment for a variety of groups in the labor market. This paper aims to define the structural dynamics of the tourism labor market and the problems that may potentially hinder tourism development at large. The mismatch between the needs of the labor market and the available labor force causes a qualitative degradation of tourism services. Given government's commitment on tourism as an industry generating both employment and revenue, strong contribution through policy making is necessary in order to improve tourism industry in general and tourism employment in particular. The integrated policy approach combines tourism policy, education policy and labor policy to form a common denominator that would enhance tourism employment, hence tourism industry across the board. Recent development in strategy research has demonstrated the important role of network participation in firm value creation. However understanding the key role of networks in value creation is only the first step. It is substantial to understand, also, the underlying mechanisms that impact firms capability in appropriating and creating value through its participation in networks.
