Abstract: The article reports on research which was conducted to investigate the clinical characteristics of surgical diseases among patients with HIV and AIDS. Researchers evaluated 326 surgical procedures that were carried out on 291 HIV infected patients in Shangai, China. They found that the clinical characteristics of HIV-infected patients requiring surgery were special in Shanghai, China and mainly involved dysfunctional, infective and neoplastic diseases.
