Members of the National Paint and Coatings Assn (NPCA) and other trade industries expressed their opposition to the approval of a new standard for Mateial Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) on Jun 3, 1993. NPCA claims that the expanded standard contains a great amount of information that will confuse the user of the MSDS. Furthermore, the standard is not applicable to paint and coating products.
