The article discusses an economic study of producing horticultural crops in high tunnels carried out by Wen-fei Uva and Mei-Luan Cheng of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. The study suggests that such structures can be profitable, but growers' overall return is being influenced by the crops grown and marketing strategies. It involved New York producers using the tunnels who keep expenses and income from crops sold for the 2006 and 2007 growing season. It is noted that a major deciding factor in use of this tunnel is its construction cost.
