The article suggests ways for approaching galleries in New York. According to the author, the first thing to do is to consult listings of art magazines for competitive shows while building up a background organized into a resume. She also recommends going to an appointment with slides of recent work, bringing along a hand viewer for the slides. Instead of scouting around for a prospective gallery, she says that a person should write to the Art Information Center in Lexington Avenue, New York for advice on which galleries to approach.
