In-depth analysis of the mechanical properties and potential applications of bamboo and jute fiber-reinforced composites enhanced with nano-alumina particles is included in this work. Numerous tests have revealed that improving the tensile, impact, and flexural characteristics by adding more nano-alumina reinforcement is effective. Tensile strength increased from 155 MPa in control composites to 173 MPa with 5% nano-alumina, indicating potential for load-bearing applications in the automotive and aerospace industries. These composite materials now have an impact resistance of 55 Joules as opposed to 25 Joules, making them suitable for use as strong building materials. Additionally, because of their increased flexural properties, which include an increase in strength from 110 MPa to 150 MPa and an increase in modulus from 4 GPa to 5.2 GPa, they are suitable for applications requiring resistance to bending forces. In addition to their superior mechanical capabilities, these composites provide environmentally conscious solutions, satisfying the growing demand for high-performance yet environmentally conscious materials. Their materials include jute and bamboo, both of which are renewable. By addressing the evolving requirements of a variety of engineering applications where a harmonious trade-off between performance and sustainability is crucial, this study significantly contributes to the development of sustainable materials. For this study, the emission characteristic of yellow oleander seed biodiesel isanalyzed using single hole nozzle at various loads. This analysis is done using Variable Compression Ratio engine with constantspeed and single cylinder. Yellow oleander seed biodiesel is prepared from its bio-oil using transesterification method. The comparison is done among four blends of yellow oleander biodiesel with diesel B20, B40, B60 and B0 (which is diesel with no blend). The performance of the engine is studied and the characteristics of the emission gases are also analyzed. Carbon dioxide(CO2), Oxygen(O2), Nitric Oxide(NOx) emission is more for the biodiesel blend whereas Carbon monoxide (CO) and Hydro Carbon (HC) emission are more for Diesel. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Metal nanoparticles with plasmonic effect are being given considerable attention for the past few decades due to their potential applications in solar cell. Silver nanoparticles doped silica/titanosilicate films were synthesized by means of hydrolytic and non hydrolytic sol–gel method. The sol-gel derived samples were effectively coated on silica substrate by dip coating method and annealed at 400 °C. The absorption spectrum of the nanoparticle doped films were analyzed and reveals that there is a broad peak around 360-380 nm is due to plasmonic effect of the silver nanoparticles. The samples were characterized structurally by means of XRD and TEM. The XRD data confirmed the crystalline nature of Ag nanoparticles and size is calculated around 14-15 nm. The TEM observations was also confirmed the crystalline planes of silver nanoparticles and is found to be around 15nm. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ZnO nanoparticles /Eu3+ doped SiO2-TiO2 matrices were synthesized through sol-gel route. Structural and dielectric properties of ZnO nanocrystallites co-doped with Eu3+ in SiO2-TiO2 matrices were presented. The HRTEM and XRD measurements confirm the presence of ZnO nanocrystallites. The dielectric and electrical conductivity studies of the samples are completed for a frequency of 100 Hz to 2 MHz. The conductivity variation with the ZnO content in the Eu3+ doped SiO2-TiO2 system were explained by correlating the presence of ionic contribution to the electrical conductivity process. From the frequency dependence of dielectric constant and conductivity, the Cole-Cole parameters and power law parameters were evaluated. RGB emission is observed from titania/PVP hybrid material codoped with RE ions (Eu3+ and Tb3+), were prepared by the non hydrolytic sol-gel method. Down conversion of light is used for the generation of white light which involves the conversion of UV into visible light by the involvement of phosphors. These activated phosphors with two rare earth ions in the hybrid host represent an efficient way to produce white light emission with CIE chromaticity coordinates of x = 0.291 and y = 0.338, which shows it is a potential phosphor for applications in white UV-LED and field emission display devices.
