In the industrial and military field is interesting the issue of exposure to high-speed fragments with bulletproof glass. Currently multilayer structures with protective films are used. aluminum oxynitride (ALON) is more prevalent material as a facing layer. Plexiglas (PMMA) or polycarbonate is used as the backing layer. Verification of such compositions is not possible without prior mathematical modeling of the processes of high-speed fragment interaction with a shield. A goal of this paper is to develop a mathematical model for calculating the interaction of the high-speed fragment with the multilayer shield. To verify the mathematical model, experiments were performed on the interaction of a steel impactor, similar in characteristics to the fragment, with various shields. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
