Samples of Co0.2Cd0.8HoxFe2-xO4 (where x = 0, 0.05, 0.1) have been investigated. The X-ray diffraction analysis showed a single spinel phase for x = 0 while Ho3+ doped samples show secondary phases. The composition of Co0.2Cd0.8Fe2O4 display cluster freezing temperature Tf≈57 K and a probable ferrimagnetic ordering (short range) temperature of ≈99 K. With the B-site substitution of Fe3+ with Ho3+ i.e. Co0.2Cd0.8HoxFe2-xO4 low temperature magnetization and coercivity appear to be greatly affected by the higher Ho3+ content. Temperature dependence of field-cooled and zero field-cooled magnetization display a shift of spin freezing temperature along with the appearance of a second phase transition which shifts to higher temperature with increasing Ho3+ content and may be attributed to Holmium containing ferromagnetic phase.
