1. An assessment of the mechanical characteristics of laminated composite materials with varying fiber orientation.

- Abstract
Using multilayer laminated composites is often more effective. The primary objective of the test process development and experimental setup was to elucidate the precise causes of damage that occur during the testing of laminated composite specimens. The manufacturing of woven composite material using polyester resin as a matrix reinforced with glass fiber with deferent fiber angles orientations. Woven composite material cut in to specimens and subjected into mechanical tests include tensile, flexural, and impact tests. The result shows that lamina with fiber orientation of 90o has the best results 20KN for tensile, 772,2N for bending, and 149KJ/M2 for impact. Meanwhile the lowest value of tests goes into fiber orientation of 0o with 2.871KN for tensile, 144.6N for bending, and 19.9KJ/M2 for impact. This paper suggest that mechanical properties increases whenever fiber orientations close to 90o orientation. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
