Women's safety is a pressing issue these days. Many incidences of female harassment and molestation have been reported in India. Women's safety is important, whether they are at home, outside, or at work. According to the literature reviewed, there are numerous mobile applications that are employed for women's safety. According to a recent research study, when a person taps one leg behind the other four times, a footwear chip adhered to the footwear activates. Two everyday things, a neck-chain pendant and a smart watch, are employed in this project. We're working on a prototype for a smart security environment that can be activated by triple-tapping the pendant. When the device is turned on, it begins relaying Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates to In Case of Emergency (ICE) contacts and police control centers and the camera on the pendant takes video and sends it to the police control centers and the said ICE contacts. The smart watch device has a pulse rate sensor that detects the wearer's heart rate and a temperature sensor that detects the wearer's body temperature. When the band is thrown with force, the force sensor activates and relays the victim's current location. After 1-2 minutes of the gadget being turned on, a Piezo buzzer siren will sound. The proposed Smart security environment enters into the sentinel mode by saying the wake-up word with the use of voice-recognition module in the pendant. The sentinel mode activates the defense mechanism by administering electric shock. Electric current is emitted by an electric shock circuit. There are two metal prongs on the top of the band screen that generate shock when they come into contact with any surface or anyone. The proposed Smart security environment enters into zenith mode by saying the appropriate wake-up word which activates the attacking mechanism by pepper spraying from the wristwatch which furnishes the user much time to recover and escape from the danger. Micro USB charging is supported by the gadget. On the android platform, a smart application will be built that connects to the device through Bluetooth interface and displays the subject's detected data to the ICE contacts. The design and deployment of an e-health monitoring network system are demonstrated in this paper. This system uses smart devices and wireless sensor networks in the real-time study of numerous patient data. Patients can be monitored via telemonitoring with this system, which intends to make diagnosis easier for clinicians. It also makes it easier for doctors and caregivers to keep continuous monitoring of their patients in any critical situations. To monitor the patient's health and surroundings, various medical and environmental sensors were employed, such as temperature, blood pressure, pH level and SPO2 sensors. The measured data have transmitted in real-time through a server/cloud. For privacy and security, the designed architecture of this project was used to keep a closed observation on a home patient case and many patients in health care units or public health hospitals. Furthermore, the readings can also be viewed on the webpage called "ThingSpeak" whereas the webpage is connected to the data cloud and displays the patient's readings via a visualizer in graph real-time form. Due to the expanding use of the internet and smart devices, various assaults such as intrusion, zero-day, Malware, and security breaches are a constant threat to any organization's network architecture. A Network Intrusion Detection System (NIDS) is required to detect attacks in network traffic. The organization interruption recognition framework (NIDS) is one of the key difficulties in the accuracy of finding and the rate of lost location in the field of organisation security. A two-initiative network outage recognition technique is proposed in this publication, based on GoogLeNet Inception and deep convolution organization (CNN) models. To identify the parallel problem from organizational packaging, the proposed technique leveraged the GoogLe Net start-up paradigm. This distinguishes between the quality of raw parcel data and traffic data. Multiclass breakdowns and organizational package elements are also distinguished using the CNN model. According to the first findings, the proposed technique improves the precision of the identification to 99.63 percent. In addition, the rate of non-identification was lowered to 0.1 percent. Industrial revolution 4.0 is the automation of conventional practices using smart devices. Actuators are one of the components in automation that have found a wide range of applications ranging from heavy-duty equipment to small-scale appliances. Compact linear actuators are equipped with robotic arms and industrial automation tools in medical equipment such as wheelchairs, beds, etc. for ease of operation. The variation in the design of actuators is available in abundance, still, the demand for the application-based design of actuators is never-ending. The present study focuses on the design of an economical, energy-saving, and flexible linear actuator that is suitable for concise instruments. The components needed for the current design – linear motor, motor driver, Nano Arduino; their technical features and advantages, dimensions, etc. have been reported in the current work. The final assembly of the circuit design for controlling the motor driver is detailed in the paper. The electrical efficiency of the actuator evaluated in the study is about 83.33% whereas the mechanical power output is 7W. The probable use of the designed actuator in a sediment sampler and for material testing purposes are also discussed whereby we have chosen Sungai Kerian river in South Penang (Malaysia) for the fieldwork application. Today's Internet of Things (IoT) interacts with social media platforms, allows people and devices to interact easily to share vital information over variety of smart applications including smart cities. The physical world connects because of smart devices and these smart devices can be accessed from anywhere due to IoT systems. These devices are vulnerable to security attacks by the malicious nodes. Trust management provides few lightweight mechanisms to identify and prevent the malicious attacks by strengthening confidentiality, integrity and availability like pillars of information security. Trust management plays a major role in community based network applications for data collection, data mining, relevant content-sensitive services etc. with enhanced customer privacy and data security which are important for handling security in the vulnerable network. In this paper, we propose the dynamic trust management for a network of smart devices to calculate the user and device-based trust score used to decide whether the device and the owner of the device are trustworthy or not. This trust score is calculated on the basis of direct and indirect interactions among the devices and users in the network. The experimental setup consists of 25 smartphone devices connected in the wireless network. Performance of the proposed system for user recommendation is evaluated using recall rate and precision rate which is yielded as 89.72% and 51.50% respectively. The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is a prominent Internet of Things (IoT) application in the area of transportation that intends to create an integrated intelligent transportation system to improve traffic, prevent accidents, assure road safety, and enrich driving experiences. Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technologies enable IoVs to communicate with other vehicles, infrastructures, and smart devices by connecting them to external networks. IoV's expanding capability and connectivity also increases their vulnerability to cyber-attacks targeting both internal and external networks. In the field of IoV cybersecurity, the application of Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) models for intrusion detection is a popular topic. Although there are numerous outstanding reviews covering the expanding volume of research on this issue, the literature lacks an impartial comparison of the various ML and DL models in a controlled context, particularly on current intrusion detection datasets. In this study, we first discuss the Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET) and some common attacks in its network, followed by a review of the academic papers (more than 30 research articles) on the subject. Then, we present a taxonomy of ML and DL models for intrusion detection using latest IoT-based datasets (ToN-IoT). We train and assess six ML models for intrusion detection: Random Forest, XGBoost, Multinomial Logistic Regression, Naive Bayes, K-Nearest Neighbour and Support Vector Machine followed by five essential DL models for intrusion detection: Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), Bidirectional GRU (B-GRU), Long Short Term Memory (LSTM), Bidirectional LSTM (BLSTM), and Multilayer Perceptron (MLP). The Internet of Things (IoT) envisions an improvement in our everyday lives by providing inexpensive and accessible smart devices for continuous monitoring of real-time events. This revolution increases the number of Internet-connected devices which simultaneously, created a continually expanding pool of attack resources against which attackers can perform mass attacks. The most potent and disastrous attacks deployed on the Internet are Denial of Service (DoS) and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS), which sends a large traffic volume to a server to make it unavailable for its intended users. IoT architectures, standards, and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) evolution are then discussed to illustrate IoT's role in this era further. The device being developed is aimed at improving the reliability of power supply to electric power facilities and enterprises that have 6-20 kV power cable lines on their balance sheet, as well as to increase the level of digitalization of electric grid companies through the introduction of smart diagnostic devices with the ability of independent engineering analysis and calculation of non-standard transients in controlled facilities in order to determine the places of damage to the insulation and shells of high-voltage cable lines without human intervention during high-voltage diagnostics of lines. The proposed technical solutions make it possible to determine with high accuracy the places of defective insulation with an error not exceeding 0.2% of the length of the controlled cable. The device allows diagnostics of cable lines up to 10 km long. Any types of insulation breakdowns of single-phase and three-phase cable lines are diagnosed in all standard cross-sections of the current-carrying cable core with high transient resistance at the site of damage based on the developed hardware and software complex. Heavy equipment business rental is one of the most profitable industries in Kalimantan, one of the largest mining producers in Indonesia and one of the most profitable enterprises in Indonesia. Heavy equipment rental companies incur several losses when their machines are leased for an extended period of time. The purpose of this study is to build and create a device that is integrated into a Caterpillar Excavator 305.5E that uses RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification) to control the rental time. Voltage and current were measured at various periods to determine the effect of the rent timer device on engine cranking and running times. The system uses a Arduino and NodeMCU controller for the process spotting the violation of boundary of person comes out of the quarantined place. The rehabilitation therapy is essential for post stroke patients. However, rehabilitation facilities are not always accessible, due to distances or availability of vehicles and companion. This issue could be solved by utilizing portable Electromyograph (EMG)-like device that could communicate with a variety of smart devices (interfacing muscle and computer) and enabling remote monitoring by health care professionals. Hospital visit could be minimalized, reducing the risk to get an infectious disease, such as COVID-19. This device could become the foundation of an assistive device, since it can be connected to various Internet of Things (IoT). Thus, we developed a portable EMG-like device that has an interface with computers. We called this device Electromyography Digital Input Assistance (EDIA). EDIA could recognize 97% of the attempted contraction and 95% of the attempted relaxation. However, EDIA struggled to handle long duration muscle contraction. Whenever the user do a single long duration muscle contraction, EDIA might recognize and treat such input as multiple muscle contraction. Prior to the use of EDIA, training exercises for user should be performed to reduce error in the muscle states recognition. For a long time, garbage has been a major global issue, and various solutions are accessible now. Nowadays, technology is widely used to make it easier and more efficient. This study focuses on the communication components of the technology allowing the collection of data to be done remotely. The smart waste bin sensor features include fill-level, temperature, and a radio frequency transceiver. A Beacon powered by an Arduino without sensors but with a WIFI module and the Radio Frequency transceiver will then transfer the data using radio frequency (up to 1km). The Trash Bin data will be captured and sent to the server via the WIFI module on the dashboard. In this research study, the authors have designed, analysed and optimized the truncated square micro strip patch antenna of size 29.5 mm x 29.5 mm placed on an FR-4 substrate in the frequency range of 6.6 GHz-7.6 GHz (C-band) and resonating at 7.0 GHz. This research study seeks to increase the proposed antenna performance by enhancing the return loss and gain. The micro strip patch is then etched with a square slot of size 2 mm x 2 mm at the centre of the patch and cross a shaped patch of length 4 mm and width 2 mm is incorporated in this slot and the same has been compared, analysed and optimized for better performance. The parametric investigation is also carried out by varying the width of the cross-shaped patch from 1.0 mm to 1.35 mm. The finding depicts the proposed antenna has a good return loss of -17 dB for decent performance, respectable bandwidth of 152 MHz for better wireless transmission of data, a respectable beam width of 52.9 for wide coverage and a high gain of 4 dBi for good signal strength. The necessity of managing energy through smart devices has become a significant issue in recent years. Though, the intelligent use of smart devices is an essential component in creating smart cities. Hence, it leads to establishing a smart grid as an infrastructure for smart cities. The smart grid infrastructure consists of smart meters, which is more reliable than digital meters for billing generation. A real-time smart meter system design is proposed and tested in this work. The measured voltage, current, and power factor for energy are multiplied every second and summed up for overall energy consumption, and this process applies to every consumer. Then, the energy consumption of each house is collected from a single region by sending them to the DCU (Data Concentrator Unit). Methods of transferring data in the proposed system consist of three technologies. The first one is the Bluetooth used between the smart socket and the smart meter. This technology was used due to the short distance between the two devices. The second one is Xbee, and it connects the smart meter and the DCU. This technology is used due to the distance between the two devices and the number of smart meters connected in one DCU. The last technology is GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications), and it is used between the DCU and the server to transfer data since this technology can cover long distances. Energy providers will have to implement innovative Time-of-Use (TOU) pricing strategies to implement the above process. A smart meter has the potential to encourage consumers to shift demand from peak hours to off-peak hours or reduce peak demand. And upon the real experiment of the system, it was found that the error rate in the voltage sensor used in the system was 0.26%, and the error rate in the current sensor used was 0.6%. It becomes necessary to develop an efficient user-friendly technique to translate visual sign language into speech. In this paper, a visual-based translator is proposed as a hand gesture classification model. Region of interest (ROI) and hand segmentation is performed using a mask Region-based Convolutional Neural Network (R-CNN). The classification model is trained using a large number of gestures dataset using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) deep learning and hosted in a web server. The system has realized a high accuracy of 99.79% and a loss of 0.0096. The trained model is loaded from the server to an internet browser using a special JavaScript library. The proposal is for a compact and novel shaped frequency-reconfigurable Monopole antenna with a large tuning band. Depending on the switching states, the recommended antenna works in single band modes. In the modelling context, lumped components are utilised to offer variable capacitance, which is responsible for frequency settings. The built antenna's tuning capacity has been discovered to be between 2.1 and 5.2 GHz. For all resonant bands, the proposed antenna has a VSWR of 1.3. In this research paper, an effort has been made to optimized design & meet the requirement of optimized deign of gas spring application, in this study found a fair idea for selection of gas spring parameters for the use in the door lifting/closing. These models are used to check the design of door lifting/closing factor of safety which is manufactured by reverse engineering. Actual data obtained from manufacturer on a single hydro pneumatic suspension unit. The data is again compared with actual model results and correlates significantly better than the actual model. It is thus concluded that the parameters used originally are safe but can be altered to reduce weight as there is still margin for factor of safety to be reduced.
