This study objective is to produce flipbook on integral topic for 11th grade student that are valid and practical. Based on this paper, hopefully teacher can know how to develop flipbook especially in integral topic. The type of the research is design research with development model used is Plomp model that consisting of two phases: (1) preliminary research, (2) prototyping phase. The subjects of this study were 11th grade students at Sekolah Menengah Atas Pembangunan Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Padang, Padang. The research instruments were interview guides, observation sheets, validity sheets, student practicality sheets, and teacher practicality sheets. This research has produced a very valid and very practical flipbook. Teachers and students gave a good response to this flipbook because it helps them in the learning process. As well known, Padang is a city with a high risk for earthquake motion. Due to its functionality, Reinforced Concrete (RC) shophouse buildings are commonly constructed in this city. The strong 2009 West Sumatra earthquake resulted in several buildings being damaged, collapsing, including the RC shophouse buildings, and causing fatalities. Almost thirteen years after the earthquake, many of these types of buildings have been constructed. Unfortunately, based on field investigation and analytical studies using pushover analysis have shown that the seismic performance of the existing buildings has not enough to anticipate the damage to the structure caused by the future earthquake. Most of them fall to Damage Control (DC) and Life Safety (LS) levels, indicating that the structure of these RC buildings may damage during a strong earthquake. In this paper, a seismic safe typical structural components of shophouse construction is proposed following the current building code in Indonesia. Bukit Gado-Gado, the sloping hilly area di Padang City occupied by people for their settlement. One of the basic problems of the infrastructure is the service of solid waste management. This study aim to measure the existing solid waste generation and composition, to evaluate the existing solid waste management and to propose the strategic action that should be taken by stakeholders in practicing the sustainable solid waste management. The study applied measurement of sampled solid waste generated, and observation approach combined with interview to government officers, community members, and leader of community organization. The result then analyzed and used SWOT method in analyzing the strength, weaknesses, opportunity, and threats of the existing solid waste management stakeholders to make the strategic plan of solid waste management. The solid waste generation was 407,017 kg/day, consists of food waste as 47%, plastic 33%, paper 14%, and yard waste 6%. There is no waste management system practice in Bukit Gado-Gado Village, the community manages their waste independently by burning or throwing into ditches. The strategic action has recommended to the government agencies, community, private sector and non-governmental organization in order to practice the sustainable solid waste management. Tsunami is a series of wave trains which travels with high speed on the sea surface. This traveling wave is caused by the displacement of a large volume of water after the occurrence of an underwater earthquake or volcano eruptions. The speed of tsunami decreases when it reaches the sea shore along with the increase of its amplitudes. Two large tsunamis had occurred in the last decades in Indonesia with huge casualties and large damages. Indonesian Tsunami Early Warning System has been installed along the west coast of Sumatra. This early warning system will give about 10-15 minutes to evacuate people from high risk regions to the safe areas. Here in this paper, a mathematical model for Tsunami evacuation is presented with the city of Padang as a study case. In the model, the safe areas are chosen from the existing and selected high rise buildings, low risk region with relatively high altitude and (proposed to be built) a flyover ring road. Each gathering points are located in the radius of approximately 1 km from the ring road. The model is formulated as an optimization problem with the total normalized evacuation time as the objective function. The constraints consist of maximum allowable evacuation time in each route, maximum capacity of each safe area, and the number of people to be evacuated. The optimization problem is solved numerically using linear programming method with Matlab. Numerical results are shown for various evacuation scenarios for the city of Padang. Renewable and sustainable energy is increasingly gaining interest in current research circles due to the debates on renewable energy resources. It is essential for scientists and researchers to search for solutions in renewable energy resources, with effective technologies, and low cost in operation and maintenance. Hydro resources can be considered a potential renewable energy resource. The traditional water wheel with simple construction coupled with a basic concept of technology can be utilised as a renewable and sustainable rural energy system. This paper discusses the case of the water wheel as a renewable energy system employed in Padang, Indonesia. The Padang water wheel is constructed from hardwood material with a diameter of 300 cm and width of 40 cm. It is built on a river using water flow to generate the movement of the wheel. The water wheel application in the area showed that it is suitable to be utilised to elevate and distribute water to rice fields located at a higher level than the water level of the river. The water wheel capacity is about 100–120 liters/min. It could continuously irrigate ±5 ha. of the rice fields. One of the advantages of this water wheel type is to function as a green technology concept promising no negative effect on the environment. The traditional water wheel has also a big economic impact on the rural economy, increasing the productivity of the rice fields. The people of Padang live in a water landscape encompassing the water wheel as an ubiquitous part of their lives, hence they relate to it and the technology of fabrication as well as the utilisation, making it an amenable and effective technology, finding relevance in the modern world. Sunflower is a commodity that has great potential to be developed. The seeds contain antioxidants that are very needed in the pharmaceutical industry and the health sector. The market price of sunflower plant seed oil is very high but the amount of sunflower production in Indonesia is quite low. This potential can be utilized by developing sunflower cultivation in the highlands and lowlands. This research aimed to study the morpho-physiological responses of sunflower plants grown in the highlands and lowlands. The study was conducted at Alahan Panjang (highland) and Padang (lowland). The method used in this study is quantitative. The results based on the T-test showed that the altitude of the place is an external factor that affects the factors of production. The morphological and physiological responses of sunflower plants planted in the lowlands are better than sunflower plants grown in the highlands, such as higher plant height, more number of leaves, larger branch diameter, and high production of seed around 1.04 ton/ha and contain higher chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, and total chlorophyll. To increase the amount of sunflower production, it is recommended to plant sunflowers seed accession Ha1 in the lowlands area. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Supply chain of cooking oil is a network of companies from palm oil as raw material to retailers which work to create the value and deliver products into the end consumers. This paper is aimed to study key success factors based on consumer's perspective as the last stage in the supply chain. Consumers who are examined in this study are restaurants management or owners. Restaurant is the biggest consumption of cooking oil. The factors is studied based on Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR) version 10.0. Factors used are formulated based on the third-level metrics of SCOR Model. Factors are analyzed using factors analysis. This study found factors which become key success factors in managing supply chain of cooking oil encompass reliability, responsiveness and agility. Severe weather that causes thunderstorms and lightning flashes can occur throughout the whole year in Indonesia. This can lead to enormous socio-economic impacts in the region. We have examined the categories thunderstorm days, thundercloud duration and lightning flashes during 2019 and 2020 based on atmospheric electric field data. In general there are different lightning activity characteristics between the rainy season and the dry season. The study results revealed that there is a strong relationship between climate and lightning activity. Lightning flashes associated with thunderstorms cause massive damage to human life, property, aviation and agriculture in Indonesia every year. This can lead to enormous socio-economic impacts on the region. The electrical characteristics of severe thunderstorms were studied using electric field mill measurements. The study results revealed that the thunderstorms recorded during severe weather had a highest lightning rate of 72 fpm with a total of 2512 strokes. The use of natural gas in a form of CNG in Indonesia still needs to be developed. Padang is one of the cities in Indonesia that requires CNG for transportation needs, mainly for public transportation. However, there is no natural gas in West Sumatra. The nearest source of natural gas from the area is located in Duri. It requires logistic, technical, and economic reviews to facilitate the natural gas in order to fullfil the transportaion essensials. The natural gas needed for public transportation gas is approximately 11,152 lsp (litre on premium). The logistic calculation of CNG delivery will require two trucks with the capacity of 5,790 lsp each, from Duri to Padang. The total of SPBG (Natural Gas Filling Station) in Padang is designated by the capacity and demand in Padang by the total of two. Each SPBG will receive one truck of CNG per day. The technical design calculation requires to use a process software. For the technical design aspect in Duri, the compressor station has two units of compressors to compress the gas from 2 bar until 200 bars. The power of each compressor is 51.01 kW for first and 55.08 kW for second. Moreover, the compressor requires two units of heat exchanger for intercooling gas and four units of pressure cylinder which has 10 tubes. For the technical design aspect in Padang, one SPBG has three storage tanks with a volume of 1.96 m3, the priority panel is one set, and dispenser is three units of vehicle. The results are feasible to do with a government funding scheme of 30% from CAPEX, the feasible gas price is Rp 5,200 / lsp. The comparison from natural gas price and subsidicial gasoline (premium) price is Rp 187,500 / month if consume 150 L / month. With this price, the Net Present Value of the study is Rp 2,651,172,954, Internal Rate of Return has 9.92% and Payback Period for eight years. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
