Sustainability has been a significant concern in development and construction upon the rising environmental issues around the globe. As such, efforts have been made to come up with sustainable construction via the invention of sustainable housing. The sustainable concept is extended to housing as demand for sustainability development for energy saving. However, high prices of houses have been denoted as an issue in the housing industry. As conventional development is already associated with high costs and high prices, houses with sustainable features are offered and sold at even higher prices. This worsens affordability, which is already a problem in Malaysia. This paper explores sustainable affordable housing via a combination review of issues and challenges. This investigation sets to accomplish two objectives. Firstly, it includes studying issues concerning sustainable affordable housing. The second objective covers a detailed identifying the challenges of implementing sustainable affordable housing and gaps of this area of study around the globe. This paper structurally investigates the literature from valid databases and eminent journals from 2004 to 2018 in matters related to issues and challenges sustainable affordable housing. As very limited work has been carried out in the areas of issues and challenges of implementing sustainable affordable housing, this paper fills this knowledge gap in the context of a structured review. The findings of the research are critically discussed in light of the literature. In conclusion, the commitment of an organization or construction industry and the government will lead to actions that will accelerate the move towards sustainable development of the housing sector, especially affordable housing. In Malaysia, sustainable development is getting momentum within organizations, businesses, and even communities. In Higher Education, we can observe that green initiatives have been taken on campus, although community awareness is still at an average level. As a result, the emphasis of this study was on UTMSPACE community's green environmental awareness, which included their study location at the UTM Kuala Lumpur campus. The introduction to this study and the concerns that arise will be the first section of this paper's structure. The literature review on green awareness, initiatives, and motivation will be covered in the second half of this study. A preliminary investigation was conducted among Diploma students in SPACE UTM Kuala Lumpur. The goal of the first inquiry is to determine the green awareness among the students. According to the poll, 132 students took part in the short online survey. We quizzed them on their thoughts of green awareness implementation, and the results of the analysis were presented in a descriptive manner. We suggest student involvement activity based on preliminary research to improve environmental awareness among the UTMSPACE community by engaging in green environment initiatives. However, because to the Covid-19 pandemic, a variety of green environmental actions can be undertaken or implemented. As a result, in the methodology section of this study, we propose a mobile application design to ensure that green awareness activities are practicable and at a constant pace, in order to ensure social distancing and activities can be done by individuals. As a result, in order to achieve this goal, we created a mobile application to raise green awareness among the campus community, which we will demonstrate at the end of this paper. The content of the mobile apps will be structured using aspects from the UI World Universities Ranking Based on Green Metric and UTM Sustainable Campus's sustainability project area. Entrepreneurial intention, as the preliminary idea of pursuing new ventures. Entrepreneurship is an important component to enhance the country's economic growth and sustainability as well as to meet the challenges of globalisation, such as increasing the unemployment rate among students. The objectives of this paper are to determine the relationship between personality, government support and entrepreneurship education with entrepreneurial intention among business students from selected public university in Malaysia and to measure the predictor of entrepreneurial intention. This study is quantitative in the form and questionnaires distributed to collect information from respondents based on the size of 100 samples and use convenience sampling method. The data obtained through questionnaires is analyzed and evaluated by correlation and regression testing. The results showed that all moderate linkages with entrepreneurial intentions. Government support also show the the most impact on the entrepreneurial intention. This paper provides a comprehensive framework that contributes to conceptualization and assists the Government and academic in enhancing skills and courses to increase the desire of business students to become future successful entrepreneurs. The development of the country is not only focusing on the role of government alone. The private sector and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) also play important role in ensuring that the public will get the benefits of sustainable development. The NGOs play a major role at grassroot level since they are close to community for implementing the programmes that will benefit to the community as a whole. They do have expertise and skills to deliver the services to the communities. Understanding the important role of the NGOS, this paper will explore their roles and contributions towards the community development in Malaysia. The research focused on members of NGO in Malaysia. Green building is the spine of the Sustainable Development Goals. It is supported by their rating tools that cover energy efficiency as a part of the indicator. The paper authored to identify design efficiency of green buildings in terms of energy performance. Therefore, the value of Building Energy Index for each building and level of association between Building Energy Index and tier points of green rating for buildings will be identified using correlation value. The first objective is to calculate the Building Energy Index of the commercial green building using the standard formula of MS1525:2019. Secondly is to calculate the correlation between the Building Energy Index and total tier of green rating certification points. All buildings consist of office, retail, industrial and institution buildings were analysed are under the average standard of MS1525:2019. Tier of green rating certification points divided to Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze rankings. In contradiction with the total tier points of green rating, it is found that the higher the tier points, the better the Building Energy Index of a green building as the correlation results between Building Energy Index and tier point of green rating indicates the negative correlation relationship for the case study covering different types of building at 0.57. The world currently relies heavily on non-renewable energy, which is unable to sustain the needs of 7 billion people in the next 50 years. This paper discusses the use of an alternative fuel, Dimethyl ether (DME), which is a sustainable option. The proposed project can be used as a case study for the future development sustainable energy sector in Malaysia. The economic study aspect as well as the technological aspect of this future development is discussed and is the main focus of this project. A Hysys model is built to replicate the proposed system. The project caters to the front tier of sustainable wind energy and the empty fruit bunch (EFB), which is one of the main products in powering the DME plant. Malaysia is rich in both products, thus, they will help to boost the local economy even further. The proposed plant indicated via the intensive economic study, proves that it will be able to generate a steady income of almost 5% yearly within the next 20 years. An overview of the methods used in the economic study of the general principle process of production as well as the overall economic study indicating a steady and booming economic growth, is discussed further in the paper. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the environmental impact of service sector growth on the tourism performance. The importance of tourism industry and the concept and dimensions of service sectors was reviewed initially and then the environmental impact of service sector in tourism was studied specifically. Upon examining the study, a yearly time series data from the period of 1995 to 2018 of Malaysia were used. Models, methods or analysis such as Descriptive Statistic Analysis, Correlation of Variables, Residual Plot, Normality Plot and regression analysis test. This empirical results proof that this outcome has demonstrated that higher mean will result higher standard deviation and vice versa. On the other hand, Correlation of Variables showed positive relationship between tourism performance and service sector growth level with all the variables. For the regression analysis the value of coefficient determined the positive relationship between those variables to the tourism performance in Malaysia. The results extracted from regression test indicated that tourism growth, all variables at level seems to be stationary a significance of 5%. Lastly, environmental impact of service sector has significant influence on tourism performance in Malaysia. Empirical findings suggest that economic policy reforms are required to channelize environmental of service sector to increase tourism performance. Building Information Modeling (BIM) has receive a lot of attention among researchers and industry players around the world including Malaysia. BIM have the capability to assist in understanding the development of projects and identify any potential problem in advance, prior to the construction process, hence, improve the quality of project and reduce the construction cost. As the Malaysian Government starts to encourage the implementation of BIM as well as sustainable construction, this paper aims to investigate the current awareness of Malaysian contractors towards the benefits of BIM in developing sustainable construction. Even though BIM offers a lot of benefits to the construction industry players, awareness towards the benefits of BIM especially related to the sustainability is still lacking among industry players. The data were analysed to indicate the highlighted benefits of BIM foresee by contractors that contribute to economic sustainability. The finding indicates that the level of knowledge is usually influenced by individual experience on BIM. However, awareness towards BIM benefits are varies depending on the individual or company ways in assessing the BIM implementation goals. Therefore, educating and providing realistic information to the construction industry players is needed to create a better understanding and wider exposure which align with the Government encouragement to implement BIM in the construction project. The purpose of this paper is to determine the critical factors that need to be practiced by management of university in successfully implementing the Sustainable Campus Operation (SCO) initiatives at Malaysian universities, as well as to classify the Critical Success Factors (CSFs) into several related groups employing factor analysis function by SPSS software. As much as 23 listed governance success factors items in the questionnaire are constructed based on rigorous literature reviews aligned with the objectives of this study. For this study, judgmental sampling techniques are used and the main target of respondents are individuals who hold administrative posts such as Director, Assistant Director, Head of Department/Unit, Assistant Registrar, and other related posts at the Development and Facility Management Office and Sustainable Campus Department/Unit. The analysis allows the factors formation without any early intervention during questionnaire design work. By referring to the descriptive result, only fourteen (14) out of twenty-three (23) success factors are considered as critical factors. Therefore, based on the results from factor analysis, the fourteen (14) CSFs were then classified appropriately under 2 common groups namely; Governance set up to perform SCO initiatives (GovF) and Accountability to improve performance of SCO initiatives (AccF). This study has important contribution to the researchers in the field of campus management related to sustainability by highlighting the importance of the campus to consider the governance support and accountability in analysing and making decision of any potential initiatives towards green campus operations at Malaysian public universities. In fact, it can be a reference in assisting people involved to recognize exactly what factors are most important in implementing the SCO initiatives towards sustainable universities in Malaysia. This research paper aims to explore the issue of maintenance and management that appear in managing the commercial building in Malaysian construction and property industry. Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia has long introduced homestay programs across the country to enhance the quality of life of people, especially those living in rural areas. This type of program is classified as a community-based tourism (CBT) as it is expected to economically improve livelihood through cultural and community associated activities. It is the aspiration of the ministry to see that the income imbalance between people in the rural and urban areas is reduced, thus would contribute towards creating more developed states of Malaysia. Since 1970s, there are 154 homestay programs registered with the ministry. However, the performance and sustainability of the programs are still not satisfying. There are only a number of homestay programs that perform well and able to sustain. Thus, the aim of this paper is to identify relevant criteria contributing to the sustainability of a homestay program. The criteria are evaluated for their levels of importance via the use of a modified pairwise method and analyzed for other potentials. In promoting water hydraulics in Malaysia, this paper presents research development of water hydraulics educational training system for secondary and tertiary levels in Malaysia. Water hydraulics trainer with robotic attachment has been studied in order to promote the usefulness of such educational tools in promoting sustainability and green technology in the country. The trainer is being developed in order to allow constructive curriculum development and continuous marketing research for the effectiveness and usefulness of using water in hydraulic power trainer. The objectives of this paper is two-fold: First, to empirically investigate the effects of an enlarged number of healthy and well-educated people on economic growth in Malaysia within the Endogeneous Growth Model framework. Second, to examine the causal links between education, health and economic growth using annual time series data from 1981 to 2014 for Malaysia. Data series were checked for the time series properties by using ADF and KPSS tests. Long run co-integration relationship was investigated with the help of vector autoregressive (VAR) method. For short and long run dynamic relationship investigation vector error correction model (VECM) was applied. Causality analysis was performed through Engle-Granger technique. The study results showed long run co-integration relation and positively significant effects of education and health on economic growth in Malaysia. The reported results also confirmed a feedback hypothesis between the variables in the case of Malaysia. The study results have policy relevance of the importance of human capital (health and education) to the growth process of the Malaysia. Over the entirety of human history, pollution and economic development seem inseparably related. We are now facing unparalleled socioeconomic and environmental stresses and threats across all three dimensions, economic, social, and environmental. When we think about the economy and society, we take note of both the costs and benefits that already occurred. Sustainable development calls for holistic action. Malaysia's growth is based on modest development. Every development requires some cost, like playing the "seesaw" one side goes up the other side goes down, therefore the government need to strike the balance while developing the nation. Development does not necessarily reduce the vulnerability of climate change if it is focused on the right kind of development, investments in the development of economic sustainability, and competitive growth models must involve sound risk management. As we look at the transition of civilization into a circular economy, we need to consider a more integrated structure to overcome the consequences of environmental degradation on social justice. In 2020, more gases have been put into the environment that may contribute to climate change and risk endangering human health. Globally, the challenge of local infrastructure provision has attracted much debate amongst different nations including Malaysia, on how to achieve an effective and efficient infrastructural management. This approach therefore, has intensified the efforts of local authorities in incorporating private developers in their developmental agenda in attaining a sustainable infrastructural development in local areas. Basically, the knowledge of the need for adequate provision of local infrastructure is well understood by both local and private authorities. Likewise, the divergent opinions on the usage of private delivery services. Notwithstanding the common perception, significant loopholes have been identified on the most appropriate and ideal approach and practices to adopt in enhancing local infrastructure development. The study therefore examined the role of private developers in local infrastructure provision and procedure adopted by both local authorities and the privates sector in local infrastructure development. Data was obtained using the questionnaire through purposive sampling, administered to 22 local authorities and 16 developers which was descriptively analysed. Emanating from the study findings, the most frequently approved practices by local authorities are joint venture and complete public delivery systems. Likewise, negotiation was identified as a vital tool for stimulating the acquisition of local infrastructure provision. It was also discovered the one of the greatest challenge in promoting private sector involvement in local infrastructure development is due to unregulated-procedure. The study therefore recommends, there is need for local authorities to adopt a collective and integrated approach, nevertheless, cognisance and priority should be given to developing a well-structured and systematic process of local infrastructure provision and development. The sustainability of aquaculture industry strongly dependence on numerous factors such as environmental, ecology, economics, industry, human behaviour, policy and many other factors. The interdependence of this factors is called as eco-aquaculture. However, eco-aquaculture field has not been widely studied, especially in Malaysia. Therefore, to fundamentally enhance the sustainable development capacity of an eco-aquaculture system, the integrated simulation and analysis of the material-energy flow processes and the trends of process generates the ecological and economic positive-negative effects should be addressed. Thus, we build a system dynamics model of the eco-aquaculture system named "SD-AQEP" to simulate quantitatively material and energy flow in the local eco-aquaculture industry chain, evaluate and analyse the integrated effects of the ecological-economy and their long-term evolution trends, identify the defects of the system and then make recommendations to improve system performance until 2025. This model is divide into three parts: aquaculture, policy and effects and also the interaction and material-energy flow mechanism among each part as the logical framework of modeling. In this study, we focus on the eco-aquaculture system particularly at Integrated Aquaculture Park (i-Sharp), Setiu, Terengganu; Malaysia. The results from the simulation revealed that the potential risks which are the negative effects of the system are identified. Then, the system improvement especially policies are made in order to reduce, eliminate all the risks as well as negative effects and at the same time bring and expand the ecological and economic to the positive effects. The systems also can diagnose scientifically the potential short-comings and defects in the system, provided the basic improvement policies as well as checking the effectiveness of the improvement policies. Finding the correct location of any facility and determining the demands which are to be assigned to it is very crucial in public health service. This is to ensure that the public gain maximum benefits. This article analyzes the previous location decisions of public primary healthcare (PHC) facilities in the district of Kuala Langat, Malaysia. With total population of 220214 (in 2010), the PHC in the district is currently served by 28 facilities. The percentages of total population covered (in 2007) within the maximum allowable distance of 3km and 5km are 69.7 percent and 77.8 percent respectively. This is very low compared to the Malaysian National Health Policy of Health for All or 100 percent coverage. The determination of health facility location should be planned carefully to further increase effective primary health service to the nation that is required for economic sustainability. Land falls into the category of prime resources. Land use and land cover changes are identified as the prime issue in global environmental changes. Thus, it is necessary to initiate the land change detection process for land sustainability as well as to develop a competent land use planning. Tropical country like Malaysia has been experiencing land use and land cover changes rapidly for the past few decades. Thus, an attempt was made to detect the land use and land cover changes in the capital of the Selangor, Malaysia, Shah Alam over 20 years period (1990 - 2010). The study has been done through remote sensing approach using Earth Sat imagery of December 1990 and SPOT satellite imageries of March 2000 and December 2010. The current study resulted that the study area experienced land cover changes rapidly where the forest area occupied about 24.4% of Shah Alam in 1990 has decreased to 13.6% in 2010. Built up land have increased to 29.18% in 2010 from 12.47% in 1990. Other land cover classes such as wet land, wasteland and agricultural land also have undergone changes.
