Cricket is an outdoor game which is highly common and extremely followed in Asia. This game has a huge fan following across the globe. There are three formats of playing Cricket. The challenges posed by each format is different from other. When two equally skilled teams clash, the outcome of the cricket match becomes highly unpredictable. Each team comprises of eleven members and the collective effectiveness of a team determines its win.This work is focused towards performing a thorough review of the various approaches and techniques that are deployed across the game of cricket and how they are instrumental in predicting the outcome of the game. Also a basic prediction model that uses classifiers like Support Vector Machines (SVM), Decision Tree and Random Forest. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
