With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, monitoring of confirmed cases for the disease is essential to understand and control its transmission. Through statistical data analysis, the status of COVID-19 cases in Baguio City, Philippines can be monitored which can help the local government fight virus transmission. From March 2 to November 15, 2020, there have been 2,805 confirmed cases recorded – 1,588 asymptomatic, 1,168 mild cases, 10 severe cases, and 39 deaths. For the said period, this paper describes the rate of infection using the 7-day moving average, two-week growth rate, daily attack rate, case doubling time, and case fatality rate. Moreover, it characterizes the distribution of infection based on sex, age, common symptoms, occupation, severity, and travel history of cases. Results show an increasing trend for the number of cases. Most of the positive cases recorded are males, individuals aged 20-29 years old, asymptomatic, and working outside their homes. Cough is found to be the most reported symptom of symptomatic cases. Local transmission of the virus within the city is also evident. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
