Entomofauna of forensic interest associated with cadaveric remains of pigs (Sus scrofa L.) exposed to field conditions in Lambayeque - Peru. Rev. peru. entomol. 50(1): 1-11. The objective of this study was to identify the genera and / or species of wildlife forensic entomological interest, average life cycle, and faunal succession in the states of cadaveric decomposition of pig (Sus scrofa L.), exposed to field conditions. Work was realized from February to April 2013; by daily sampling for 60 days. The following species were identified: Chrysomya albiceps, Chrysomya megacephala, Cochliomyia macellaria (Diptera: Calliphoridae), Musca domestica (Diptera: Muscidae), and unidentified species of Phoridae and Sarcophagidae families; Dermestes maculatus, Dermestes frischii (Coleoptera: Dermestidae), Necrobia rufipes (Coleoptera: Cleridae), and three morphotypes of Euspilotus (Coleoptera: Histeridae). The entomofauna of forensic interest, their cycles and the faunal succession described in this paper can be used as tools to estimate postmortem interval. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
