Abstract Halogenation of Y‐series small‐molecule acceptors (Y‐SMAs) is identified as an effective strategy to optimize photoelectric properties for achieving improved power‐conversion‐efficiencies (PCEs) in binary organic solar cells (OSCs). However, the effect of different halogenation in the 2D‐structured large π‐fused core of guest Y‐SMAs on ternary OSCs has not yet been systematically studied. Herein, four 2D‐conjugated Y‐SMAs (X‐QTP‐4F, including halogen‐free H‐QTP‐4F, chlorinated Cl‐QTP‐4F, brominated Br‐QTP‐4F, and iodinated I‐QTP‐4F) by attaching different halogens into 2D‐conjugation extended dibenzo[f,h]quinoxaline core are developed. Among these X‐QTP‐4F, Cl‐QTP‐4F has a higher absorption coefficient, optimized molecular crystallinity and packing, suitable cascade energy levels, and complementary absorption with PM6:L8‐BO host. Moreover, among ternary PM6:L8‐BO:X‐QTP‐4F blends, PM6:L8‐BO:Cl‐QTP‐4F obtains a more uniform and size‐suitable fibrillary network morphology, improved molecular crystallinity and packing, as well as optimized vertical phase distribution, thus boosting charge generation, transport, extraction, and suppressing energy loss of OSCs. Consequently, the PM6:L8‐BO:Cl‐QTP‐4F‐based OSCs achieve a 19.0% efficiency, which is among the state‐of‐the‐art OSCs based on 2D‐conjugated Y‐SMAs and superior to these devices based on PM6:L8‐BO host (17.70%) and with guests of H‐QTP‐4F (18.23%), Br‐QTP‐4F (18.39%), and I‐QTP‐4F (17.62%). The work indicates that halogenation in 2D‐structured dibenzo[f,h]quinoxaline core of Y‐SMAs guests is a promising strategy to gain efficient ternary OSCs.

Abstract Achieving a high depth of discharge (DOD) in lithium metal anodes (LMAs) is crucial for developing high areal energy density batteries suitable for wearable electronics. Yet, the persistent growth of dendrites compromises battery performance, and the significant lithium consumption during pre‐lithiation obstructs their broad application. Herein, A flexible 3D Li13Sn5 scaffold is designed by allowing molten lithium to infiltrate carbon cloth adorned with SnO2 nanocrystals. This design markedly curbs the troublesome dendrite growth, thanks to the uniform electric field distribution and swift Li+ diffusion dynamics. Additionally, with a minimal SnO2 nanocrystals loading (2 wt.%), only 0.6 wt.% of lithium is consumed during pre‐lithiation. Insights from in situ optical microscope observations and COMSOL simulations reveal that lithium remains securely anchored within the scaffold, a result of the rapid mass/charge transfer and uniform electric field distribution. Consequently, this electrode achieves a remarkable DOD of 87.1% at 10 mA cm−2 for 40 mAh cm−2. Notably, when coupled with a polysulfide cathode, the constructed flexible Li/Li13Sn5@CC||Li2S6/SnO2@CC pouch cell delivers a high‐areal capacity of 5.04 mAh cm−2 and an impressive areal‐energy density of 10.6 mWh cm−2. The findings pave the way toward the development of high‐performance LMAs, ideal for long‐lasting wearable electronics.

Abstract 3D Cu current collectors have been demonstrated to improve the cycling stability of Li metal anodes, however, the role of their interfacial structure for Li deposition pattern has not been investigated thoroughly. Herein, a series of 3D integrated gradient Cu‐based current collectors are fabricated by the electrochemical growth of CuO nanowire arrays on Cu foil (CuO@Cu), where their interfacial structures can be readily controlled by modulating the dispersities of the nanowire arrays. It is found that the interfacial structures constructed by sparse and dense dispersion of CuO nanowire arrays are both disadvantageous for the nucleation and deposition of Li metal, consequently fast dendrite growth. In contrast, a uniform and appropriate dispersity of CuO nanowire arrays enables stable bottom Li nucleation associated with smooth lateral deposition, affording the ideal bottom‐up Li growth pattern. The optimized CuO@Cu‐Li electrodes exhibit a highly reversible Li cycling including a coulombic efficiency of up to ≈99% after 150 cycles and a long‐term lifespan of over 1200 h. When coupling with LiFePO4 cathode, the coin and pouch full‐cells deliver outstanding cycling stability and rate capability. This work provides a new insight to design the gradient Cu current collectors toward high‐performance Li metal anodes.

Abstract Tumor‐associated macrophages (TAMs) are one of the most abundant cell types in colorectal cancer (CRC) tumor microenvironment (TME). Recent studies observed complicated “cross‐talks” between cancer cells and macrophages in TME. However, the underlying mechanisms are still poorly elucidated. Here, PD‐L1 levels are very low in CRC cells but highly abundant in TAMs, and a specific PD‐L1+CD206+ macrophage subpopulation are identified, which is induced by tumor cells and associated with a poor prognosis. Mechanistic investigations reveal that CRC cells can secrete small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) taken up by macrophages that induce M2 like polarization and PD‐L1 expression, resulting in increased PD‐L1+CD206+ macrophage abundance and decreased T cell activity in CRC TME. sEV‐derived miR‐21‐5p and miR‐200a are identified as key signaling molecules mediating the regulatory effects of CRC on macrophages. Further studies reveal that CRC‐derived miR‐21‐5p and miR‐200a synergistically induces macrophage M2 like polarization and PD‐L1 expression by regulating the PTEN/AKT and SCOS1/STAT1 pathways, resulting in decreased CD8+ T cell activity and increased tumor growth. This study suggests that inhibiting the secretion of specific sEV‐miRNAs from CRC and targeting PD‐L1 in TAMs may serve as novel methods for CRC treatment as well as a sensitization method for anti‐PD‐L1 therapy in CRC.

Abstract Despite rapid improvements in efficiency, long‐term stability remains a challenge limiting the future up‐scaling of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Although several approaches have been developed to improve the stability of PSCs, applying ammonium passivation materials in bilayer configuration PSCs has drawn intensive research interest due to the potential of simultaneously improving long‐term stability and boosting power conversion efficiency (PCE). This review focuses on the recent advances of improving n‐i‐p PSCs photovoltaic performance by employing ammonium halide‐based molecular modulators. The first section briefly summarizes the challenges of perovskite materials by introducing the degradation mechanisms associated with the hygroscopic nature and ion migration issues. Then, recent reports regarding the roles of overlayers formed from ammonium‐based passivation agents are discussed on the basis of ligand and halide effects. This includes both the formation of 2D perovskite films as well as purely organic passivating layers. Finally, the last section provides future perspectives on the use of organic ammonium halides within bilayer‐architecture PSCs to improve the photovoltaic performances. Overall, this review provides a roadmap on current demands and future research directions of molecular modulators to address the critical limitations of PSCs, to mitigate the major barriers on the pathway toward future up‐scaling applications.
