23. Investigation of Preparation and Thermoelectric Properties of Ca2.5La0.5Co4O9 Porous Ceramics

Abstract

CO(NH2)2 as pore-former used to prepare porous Ca2.5La0.5Co4O9 thermoelectric materials by solid-state reaction technique.Microstructure,density and thermoelectric properties (temperature dependence of electrical resistivity,Seebeck coefficient) of the samples were studied in details.The results have shown that the porosity increases and the pore structure is improved with the pore-former content increasing,and electrical resistivity and density decrease while Seebeck coefficient raise.The improvement in electrical resistivity and Seebeck coefficient leads to higher power factor values at 913 K (around 1.32 mW/cm·K2) than undoped samples.

24. Preparation and Characterization of NTC NiMn2O4-La1-xCaxMnO3 (0≤x≤0.3) Composite Ceramics

Abstract

Composite ceramics made of spinel structure NiMn2O4 and CaO-doped perovskite structure LaMnO3 were prepared by a conventional solid state reaction and sintered at different temperatures. The XRD patterns have shown that the major phases presented in the sintered samples are NiMn2O4 compounds with the spinel structure, La1-xCaxMnO3 with the perovskite structure and NiO with a monoclinic structure. SEM images show that the density and grain size of the composite ceramics increases with sintered temperature increasing. The electrical resistivity of the composite ceramics at 25°C is found to change significantly depending on the CaO content, while the thermal constant B is still reasonably large in the range of 2400 to 3000 K. For the composition x = 0.1, the composite with a low electrical resistivity (ρ25°C=4.46Ω·cm) and moderate B value (B25/50=2762K) was obtained. These composites could be applied as potential candidates for NTC thermistors in the suppression of the inrush current.

25. Influence of Mole Ratio and Pressure on Properties of UHMWPA6/GdCl3 Fiber by Dry-Spinning Method

Abstract

In this work, the solution of PA6/GdCl3 with different complex ratios were prepared, using gadolinium trichloride (GdCl3) as complexing agent, formic acid and hydrochloric acid as solvent. The fibers were then prepared by dry spinning method and characterized with scanning electron microscope (SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and Instron tensile testing. The results indicated that fibers with good morphology and mechanical properties could be obtained when mole ratio (MR) was 0.04 and PA6 concentration was 22wt%. Moreover, we found that spinning pressure had significant influence on the properties of fibers.
