In order to learn the reaction and adaptability to water stress of Sedum yvesii, the changes in physiology of leaf water saturation deficit (RWD), plasma membrane relative permeability, chlorophyll content and fluorescence parameters were studied in different moisture gradient of water stress. The results showed that: after 20 days for submergence stress, it had an effect on the normal growth of Sedum yvesii; after 30 days for severe drought stress and 10 days for extreme drought stress, it can severely inhibit the growth of Sedum yvesii, even lead to death, which embodied in the dramatic decline of chlorophyll content, Fv /Fm, Fv'/Fm', ETR and the increase of RWD, relative electrical conductivity. The indicators of slight drought stress and moderate drought stress group have little differences with the control group. They did not cause a significant effect on the growth of Sedum yvesii, indicating that Sedum yvesii has a strong ability to these two kinds of water stress gradient.

Segmentation of diseased lungs in CT images is a nontrivial problem. As Active Appearance Model (AAM) has been applied effectively in this field, we propose a new approach for the construction of traditional AAM to segment the lung fields more accurately and efficiently: Matrixes based AAM (MatAAM). MatAAM is based on two-dimensional image matrixes rather one-dimensional vectors. Its appearance matrix does not need to be transformed into a vector prior to computing the appearance parameter. Instead, a covariance matrix is constructed directly using the normalized appearance matrixes and its eigenvectors are derived for the appearance parameter. The experiment results were compared to other landmark-based methods: Snake, Active Shape Model (ASM), AAM and several modified versions of them. For segmentation of lungs especially diseased lungs, MatAAM performed a superior result in both precision and efficiency.

Because of the poor quality of the operational water (urban reclaimed water) of one power plant in Hebei, China, a high-efficiency reverse osmosis (HERO) system with foreign patents is utilized for advanced treatment of the reclaimed water. The influence of the main factors (including the alkalinity and the suspended solid content of the feed water, the flux, and the pH of the concentrated water) on the performance of the HERO system were studied. The high alkalinity (high concentration of carbonate) of the feed water resulted in HERO scaling, and the low alkalinity caused the penetration of hardness through the weak acid ion exchangers and, therefore, also caused HERO scaling. The high suspended solid content of the feed water caused rapid decrease in the product flux of HERO. The low concentrated water flux also decreased the product flux. As the pH of the concentrated water became higher, the stability of the HERO operation increased. Based on the pH endurance of the membranes and the characteristic of the high-pH operation of the HERO system, the water production was basically stable when the pH of the concentrated water lay between 10.5 and 10.8. Affected by the ammonia in the reclaimed water, the pH of the product water was higher than that of the feed water. The pH of the feed water was higher than that of the concentrated water. When the pH of the concentrated water was above 10.8, the pH values were close to one another. The results of the chemical cleaning experiments indicated that hardness, phosphorus, ammonia, silicon dioxide, and iron ions were the main influencing chemical factors of HERO, in which the former three formed a sediment of magnesium ammonium phosphate, and the latter two formed an iron silicate sediment.

To characterize the concentration levels of PFOS and PFOA in the Qiantang River waters of China, 12 water samples were collected in May 2013 and analyzed. The concentrations of PFOS and PFOA were from n.d to 0.798 ng/L and from 65.9 to 102.4 ng/L, respectively. PFOS has been observed at a low concentration in these samples, while PFOA was detected in 100% of the samples with higher PFOA concentrations. PFOA concentrations were far higher than those of PFOS in all the samples, which subjected to be influenced by the inflows of the chemicals from a lot of the textile dyeing industry along the south bank of the river. Although the PFOS and PFOA concentration in Qiantang River water samples did not exceeded this provisional health advisory level (limit) established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency for PFOS and PFOA in drinking waters of 200 ng/L and 400 ng/L respectively, continued exposure to even relatively low PFOS and PFOA concentrations in drinking water may increase the risk of health effects.

To provide the quality assurance for various samples test, fast testing methods of the performance of laser confocal micro-Raman spectroscopy system for cell analysis are developed. The silicon wafer was used on the performance test of LabRam INV system produced by Horiba JY. The silicon wafer can not only be used for system calibration (the band of 520.7cm-1), but also for the evaluation of the system performance. The curves of the intensity at the band of 520.7 cm-1 as a function of laser intensity radiated on the sample, pinhole and time were achieved. The results show that the intensity at the band of 520.7 cm-1 change linearly with the laser intensity, which can be used to evaluate the laser intensity radiated on the sample. The intensity changes with pinhole can be used to determine the size of pinhole for different purpose. The stability of Raman system can be determined by the variation of the intensity at the band of 520.7 cm-1 with time, which helps to decide whether it is suitable for other sample test.

A 1000MW ultra-supercritical unit was studied to gain the energy consumption characteristics by means of thermodynamic analysis. Comparing with the designed conditions, the power generation efficiency under real operation is much less; especially under 50% and 100% rated loads. The higher superheated steam temperature and lower reheat temperature were found to explain that. At the real running, the higher superheated steam temperature induced more attemperation water, while reheat temperature lower than the designed point would decrease the power output. Aiming at solving issues about temperature control in unit operation, several details could be paid extra attention to. For instance, attemperating water comes from outlet of the high-pressure heaters would have a much slighter influence on generating efficiency.

The authors have investigated the edge emission of microcavities which are formed by low-molecular organic light emitting diodes sandwiched between dielectric mirrors and the metal cathode. The edge emission relative to the surface emission is found to significantly depend on the layer number of alternating high and low refractive index films in dielectric mirrors. The enhancement of cavity devices can reach a factor of ~3.0 compared with noncavity devices. Spectra of organic film pumped by edge emission of microcavity devices have been observed, a mechanism of achievement of an amplified spontaneous emission has been discussed theoretically.

Because its pilot stage is a two-position tree-way valve, the previously research piezoelectric type pneumatic digital valve also constantly works in on or off state even in the case of output stable pressure, which makes the valve with pressure fluctuation, waste gas and other shortcomings. In order to overcome the above problem, a novel pneumatic digital valve driven by dual piezoelectric is presented in this thesis. And its simulation model is built based on the AMESim and Matlab/simulink joint simulation platform. On this basis, its control method is researched by the simulation. The simulation shows that the Bang-Bang and the PWM control algorithm can basically achieve the digital proportional control of the valve, but the valve has overshoot. For this, the compound control algorithm with PID plus PWM is proposed to control the valve. The simulation results show that this algorithm is effective which can reduce the pressure overshoot.

It is an issue whether the Kaijiang-Liangping area (in the northeastern Sichuan Basin, SW China) was a controversial ocean trough during Changxing age in the late Permian-early Triassic. Some vitrinite reflectance (Ro) profiles from wells in the northeastern Sichuan Basin show obvious breaks, and the breaks are coincident with the boundary between the middle Permian and late Permian. Based on the Ro data, the heat flow history in the northeastern Sichuan Basin was reconstructed. The result shows that the heat flow reached its peak value at the end of middle Permian (~260Ma). The spatiotemporal feature of the heat flow evolution is not in agreement with the fact that there was a Kaijiang-Liangping Trough existing in the late-Permian to early Triassic. The palaeo-heat flow anomaly was, in fact, a response to the igneous activity in late middle Permian.

A de-interlacing method for video surveillance in intelligent substation is presented in this paper. Firstly, a framework for performance evaluation is proposed so that the subjective performance of de-interlacing will not matter in applications such as video compression. Then pre-filtering is performed to remove potential noise, and a hierarchical structure is introduced for same-parity field pictures or opposite-parity field pictures to get more reliable optical flow results for compression. Finally the optical flow results are used to improve the accuracy of block-based methods for each partition of the to-be-interpolated image and the final motion vectors are determined. Experimental results show that the proposed solution can achieve both better peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) performance and visual effects.

Based on quantitative structureproperty relationship (QSPR) of organic compounds, geometrical optimization and quantum chemical parameter calculations have been performed at the B3LYP/6-31G* level of theory for 75 polychlorinated naphthalenes (PCNs). A number of statistically-based parameters have been obtained. Relationship between the physicochemical properties of polychlorinated naphthalene compounds (n-octanol/air partition coefficient, sub-cooled liquid vapor pressure, water solubility) and the structural descriptors have been established by multiple linear regression (MLR) method. The results show that the molecular volume (Vmc), dipolar moment (μ), and the energy of lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (ELUMO), together with the quantity derived from electrostatic potential () can be well used to express the quantitative structure-property relationships of polychlorinated naphthalene compounds. The models constructed have good robustness and high predictive capability.

NOx is one of the most serious atmosphere pollutants, and how to control and remove NOx is the hot research in the environmental field all over the world. SCR is considered as one of the most effective denitration methods at present. In SCR technology, catalyst is the core of the SCR system, and the performance of SCR catalyst mainly depends on the active component and catalyst support. Catalyst support can not only affect the choice of the active material and the catalyst promoter, but also affect the flue gas denitration efficiency. This paper mainly introduces four kinds of SCR catalyst supports: TiO2, Al2O3, activated carbon and activated carbon fiber and ZSM-5 zeolite. The performance of the four types of catalyst supports are compared, and SCR activity test of Mn-Ce supported and V2O5 supported on different catalyst supports are conducted respectively. Finally, for Mn-Ce supported and V2O5 supported catalysts, this paper puts forward that TiO2 is the most widely used and effective catalyst support.
