Abstract

In order to satisfy tunnel engineering survey and rapid transit railway engineering survey, this paper makes a study of the relationship between transition curve and neighbor point, and puts forward precise bisection method solution and approximate correction method solution which is suited to calculator. Besides, correction method is verified through comparing with bisection method to prove that its accuracy can meet engineering survey requirement.

Abstract

dvanced mineral admixtures can lead to economical high performance concrete with enhanced durability and reduced cement content. When super fine steel slag powder is mixed into concrete as active admixture, resistance to abrasion and resistance to chloride penetration are improved as well as workability and mechanical properties of the concrete. Resistance to abrasion of steel slag concrete is measured and resistance to chloride penetration is also determined by the method of NEL and ASTM C1202 in this paper. Result shows that compound mineral admixtures as partial replacement for Portland cement in mortar enhance abrasion resistance. Mixing mineral admixture is an effective means for controlling the chloride permeability. Concrete specimens prepared with compound mineral admixture with steel slag powder and blast furnace slag powder has very low permeability.

Abstract

Concrete properties can be greatly improved with the advanced mineral admixtures such as steel slag powder. Used in combination with Super-plasticizer admixture, steel slag powder can lead to economical high performance concrete with enhanced durability and reduced cement content. The effectiveness of steel slag powder on suppressing Alkali Aggregate Reaction is analyzed. The effectiveness of steel slag powder on suppressing AAR expansion was assessed using the method of ASTM C441 and accelerated test method. Results show that mineral admixtures with steel slag powder as partial replacement for Portland cement in concrete is an effective means for controlling expansion due to AAR. At most a 50% decrease in expansion rate of mortar bars can be found.

34. Properties of PbO2 Electrode Modified by AEO-7 for Electrocatalytic Degradation of Crystal Violet

Abstract

In order to improve the performance of PbO2 electrode, A kind of surface active agent – AEO-7 was added into nitric acid bath and modified PbO2 electrode was prepared on stainless steel substrate by anodic oxidation. The modified variations on surface morphology of the electrodes were examined by Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM); The polarization curves, Tafel curves and Cyclic voltammograms of modified and unmodified PbO2 electrodes were compared in Crystal violet solution; The electrocatalytic activities were inspected by electrocatalytic degradation of crystal violet. It was found that the modified electrode showed higher oxygen evolution potential, better corrosion resistance, and more excellent electrocatalytic activity than the unmodified electrode.

35. Synthesis, Characterization of Pr-TiO2 Nanoparticles and their Photocatalytic Mechanism

Abstract

The Pr-TiO2 photocatalyst samples were prepared by sol-gel method for improving the photocatalytic activity of TiO2. The resulting materials were analyzed by XRD, SEM, TEM, and XPS. The photocatalytic activity of the catalysts was evaluated by degradation of methyl orange under UV irradiation. It was found Pr doping retard the growth of crystalline size and the phase transformation from anatase to rutile. Praseodymium doping could bring about remarkable improvement in the photoactivity. This high activity was attributed to produce the lattice distortion and inhibit efficiently of the recombination of the electron-hole by Pr3+.

36. Preparation and Photocatalytic Property of Nd-TiO2 Thin Films Prepared by Sol-Gel Dip Coating

Abstract

Uniform and highly adherent thin films of TiO2 and Nd-TiO2 were deposited on high silica fiber by sol-gel dip coating method in this study. The surface morphology and properties of synthesized composites films were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM and XPS. The photocatalytic reactivity studies of TiO2 and Nd-TiO2 films were evaluated by photodegradation of the methyl orange (MO) under ultraviolet irradiation. The results shown that neodymium doped TiO2 films have higher photodegradation efficiency than that pure TiO2 films. The photocatalyst on high silica fiber have a higher photocatalytic activity compare to the glass due to it is light-guide fiber.
