Due to the presence of recalcitrant organic compounds, the pulp and paper effluents after treatment by conventional biological processes still contain high concentration of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and colored substances and do not satisfy the national emission standard. The objectives of this work are to present the research process on environmental materials with application of ozone-based technologies in removal of characteristic pollutants in pulp and paper effluents and suggest the feasible development trend. In this work, basic mechanisms of degradation of organic pollutants by ozone-based technologies in the presence of environmental materials as catalyst are described. The removal efficiencies of characteristic pollutants commonly found in pulp and paper effluents, such as absorbable organic halogens (AOX), resin and fatty acids, phenolic compounds, lipophilic wood extractives and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), are presented.

The paper wooden compound pallets are produced through the processing and assembly by using particle board, paper tubes and PE coated paper board as raw materials. Comparing with traditional wooden flat plate, the new type of green environmental protection pallets has many advantages such as high strength, light weight, low cost, waterproof, anti-moth-eaten, no need fumigation, etc. is an ideal green transport packaging materials for export commodities. The paper discusses and probes into the process and technology of paper wooden compound pallets.

Tertiary treatment wascarried out to treat pulp and paper effluent from secondary treatment processby a three-dimensional electrode system equipped with modifiedbentonites as powdery electrode. The cetyl trimethylammonium bromide modified bentonite (CTAB-bent) and hydroxy-aluminum pillaredorganic bentonite (OH-Al-CTAB-bent) were synthesized and characterized by XRDand FTIR spectroscopy analysis.The impacts such as the dosage of particle electrode, electrolysis times,current density were on the COD removal efficiency and decolorization effect ofeffluent were also investigated. The results showed that the experimentscarried out by three-dimensional electrode system with OH-Al-CTAB-bent weresufficient for the COD and color removal efficiency. A current density of 30mA/cm2, electrolysis time of 40min, and the particle electrodedosage of 1.6g/L were selected as an optimum conditions that allows fast andlow cost treatment. The effluent can achieve the discharge standard of waterpollutants for pulp and paper industry (GB3544-2008) after electrolysis.

Waste paper sludge ash (WPSA) is a byproduct and problematic waste of paper industries. The investigation was driven by the increasing demand for reuse options in paper-recycling industry. This paper present on the morphology and physical analysis studies on polymerization of WPSA mortar. Two (2) types of polymeric mortar mixes containing WPSA with alkaline activators and without alkaline activators were prepared. The morphology of each mixes was determined using Spectra Electron Microscope (SEM) and the physical test is focus on compressive strength. However, the element diffraction of each mixes using Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDX) was also carried out as a method to identify the polymerization of polymeric mortar. From the result obtained it is found that the utilization of WPSA reduced the polymerization of polymeric mortar due to more pores. From the EDX analysis it is also revealed that the WPSA polymeric mortar also contained less synthetic aluminous silicate compound. However, the strength gain up to 6MPa and it is comparable with other high calcium material mortar.

Paper electromagnetic drying technology is a new paper drying technology different from traditional steam drying. Today, environmental pressure deteriorating, energy crisis approaching, doing researches on paper electromagnetic drying technology has a special meaning, especially to high speed toilet paper machine which is truly needed and has a vast developmental potential. This thesis is based on electromagnetic dryer and steam dryer study. And the changes measured in the experiment at diverse temperatures and quantities in the experiment has shown a higher efficiency of electromagnetic drying technology than conventional steam drying technology.

Experimental studies on biogas yield of Ulva pertusa were carried out at different fermentation conditions. At 25°C, 35°C and 45°C, the biogas yield from fermentation of Ulva pertusa were 223.2mL/gVS, 256.2mL/gVS and 300.0mL/gVS,respectively, while the methane content in the biogas produced at 35°C was the highest. In addition, biogas yield reached to 482.5mL/gVS and 499.6mL/gVS by adding waste paper of 3.5g and 7.0g to the fermentation liquor, the corresponding methane content in the biogas were 56.0% and 51.2%, respectively. Comparatively, higher biogas yield, methane content and system stability could obtain from Ulva pertusa by adding 3.5g ~ 7.0g of waste paper and fermentation at 35°C.The fermentation process of Ulva pertusa for biogas production generally lasted for 19~25 days.

What happens in the paper surface about ink absorption is of great important for appearance of final printing. The aim of this experiment was to investigate the influence of printing pressure and printing speed on ink layer thickness transferred onto coated paper through quantitative analysis by laser scanning confocal microscope (LSCM). Meanwhile, the influence of printing pressure and printing speed on print density and print gloss were obtained. The results implied that higher printing pressure resulted in higher ink layer thickness, print density and print gloss when printing pressure is less than 700N, but higher printing speed resulted in lower ink layer thickness, print density and print gloss when printing pressure is constant. It could be concluded that the coated paper with high printing speed compared with low printing speed resulted in lower ink absorption, lower print density, lower print gloss and worse printability on the condition of same printing pressure.

The objective of this experiment was to investigate the influence of coating solid on surface properties and ink penetration and to characterize the penetration depth through quantitative analysis by laser scanning confocal microscope (LSCM). Fluorescent ink was used to observe and characterize ink penetration and distribution by LSCM. The results implied that the surface properties of coated paper could be adjusted and improved by increasing the coating solid. With the increasing of coating solid, ink penetration depth declined and ink penetration uniformity increased. It could be concluded that the coated paper with high coating solid compared with low coating solid resulted in lower ink usage and better printability on the condition of same print density.

A novel hollow microsphere plastic pigment was prepared by the soap-free seeded emulsion polymerization. This pigment, with polyacrylate as core and with polystyrene as shell (PA/PSt) had hollow structure after dryness. The latex was characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR), and particle size analysis. The synthetic pigment was applied in the paper coating, and its influence on the printablility of the coated paper was investigated. The results show that the overall properties of the coated paper can be effectively improved when the clay in the base formulation is replaced by a small amount of hollow microsphere plastic pigment.

Fibers of dissolved air flotation rejects were been carboxymethylated to make dry strengthening agent. The effects of carboxymethylated time on carboxyl content, water retention value and physical properties of paper sheets were discussed. The effects of pH, dose of additive agent and additive aluminum sulfate on paper properties were discussed. The result show that carboxyl content and water retention values increased with the increasing of carboxymethylated time according to the research. IR analysis indicates that carboxymethyl has been connected to the surface of fibers. SEM micrographs shown that fibers were intergraded more closely benefit from the addition of dry strengthening agent. Tensile index, burst index and folding endurance respectively increased by 90.1% 101.8% and 833.3% on the condition: the additive agent amount 3%, pH 5, additive aluminum sulfate 0.5% of original pulp. Tensile index, burst index and folding endurance respectively increased by 74.0%, 87.8% and 877.8% when the carboxymethylated time was 110min for recycled pulp. This paper can be used as the theoretical basis for reusing of fiber of dissolved air flotation rejects.

The ink penetration behavior depends on the coating surface structure and surface properties of the coating layer in the papermaking process, which include coating recipes and coating conditions, etc. The objective of this experiment was to investigate the relationship between binder content and ink absorption using laser scanning confocal microscope (LSCM). Fluorescent ink was used to observe and characterize ink penetration and distribution in coated paper by LSCM. The results indicated that higher binder content could result in higher amount ink absorption. With the increasing of binder content, ink penetration depth in coated paper increased. Sample G2 with 20 parts binder produced the most unevenness ink distribution. It could be concluded that the coated paper with 25 parts binder compared with the other samples resulted in higher ink usage and better printing quality.

The surface topography and properties of coating layer have an important influence on penetration and distribution of the print ink. In this research, the main objective was to investigate the effect of binder on the coating surface topography and characteristics. The surface microstructure was explored in the method of numerical and visual analysis using mercury porosimetry measurment and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The findings indicated that the binder content on the coating surface affected the pore size, depth and distribution of the coated paper surface. The conclusions were drawn that more amount of binder on the coating surface could contribute to improve the coating surface topography and the formation of even pore size and distribution, which was good to the paper surface characteristics and resulted in low roughness, high paper gloss, low ink absorption and high paper surface efficiency.

Polyimide fibers and polyamide acid fibers was used as main materials to make polyimide fiber paper. The effect of the properties of polyimide fiber paper by hot pressing temperature and hot pressing pressure was discussed. The experimental results showed that when the pressure of hot pressing was 12Mpa and the hot temperature of hot pressing was 220°C, the sheet had excellent strength properties and electrical performance.

In this paper, the effects of xylanase modification on pulp and paper properties of masson pine mechanical pulp were investigated. After the modification, the Zeta potential of pulp and the cationic demand of whitewater increased，the drainage property of the pulp increased obviously. At the same time, the amount of shives decreased, it showed that using bio-enzyme could improve the utilization rate of raw materials as well as reduces the energy consumption of the mechanical pulp. On the other hand, xylanase modification had great effect on the dynamic contact angle, with the dosage of xylanase increased, the contact angle of the pulp first increased and then reduced.

Recycling of waste paper is one of pop topics of pulping and papermaking industry. Deinking technology is the key of recycling of waste paper. It is briefly introduced that methods of waste paper deinking and mechanism of deinking and constitute of deinking agent.

In present time, recycled paper from xerographic and laser-printed wastepaper plays an important role as alternatives to paper from virgin pulp because of their good pulp quality and high amount of wastepaper each year. This type of paper is classified as Mixed Office Wastepaper (MOW). The xerographic and laser-printed inks are usually called “toner” which its formulation is different from conventional ink. This work aimed to investigate paper recycling by flotation deinking process. The flotation experiments were conducted using SDS (sodium dodecyl sulfate) and Triton X-100 (C14H22O(C2H4O)n). The experimental results demonstrated that ink removal was more efficient with the use of non-ionic surfactant (Triton X-100) than anionic surfactant (SDS). The efficiency of ink removal was determined by ERIC and the pulp’s brightness. In addition, the quality of de-inked pulps was evaluated by pulp physical properties such as burst strength, tear strength and tensile strength.

This work investigated paper recycling by washing deinking processes. Experimental parameters were pulp consistencies, amounts and types of surfactant. The resultant pulp of 1.5%consistency and 0.9 wt% of nonionic surfactant, Triton X-100, is the optimum washing deinking process. The resultant pulps have optical and physical properties closed to non-printed paper. Surfactant concentrations were kept below CMC to provide low ink specks, high brigthness and strength on handsheets. The recycled pulp will be use as a raw material for electrical purpose paper.

In this paper, a kind of sizing synergist,AKD,cationic rosin(CRS) and oil resistance agent were mixed in different proportions, we make it as a kind of new water repellent agent ,and for internal sizing. The best dosage and the composite ratio of the synergist, AKD, cationic rosin and oil resistance agent was discussed mainly in this experiment. And then the copy paper were tested of the substanceweight and contact angle, and compared with the water resistance when the domestic water repellent agent or AKD was added alone. Conclusions of this experiment are following: the optimal conditions were that the mass ratio of AKD and CRS is 6:4, the additive level of AKD and the cationic rosin is 6% (based on dry weight of pulp), the quantity of the sizing synergist is 0.5% , and no oil resistance agent was added, the effect of water resistance is best.

In this paper, the domestic old book paper(DOBP) was subjected to deinking process. Surface and colloid characterisitics of DOBP deinking pulp(DIP) system was investigated. The relation between surface and colloid characterisitic changes and efficiency of deinking (brightness and residual ink particles content) was studied. Technical conditions that affect the deinking pulp’s colloid chemical behavior were also analyzed here.The results showed that colloid-chemical behavior of DOBP deinking system could be changed during the deinking process. The colloid-chemical behavior, such as Zeta potential and surface tention, had a certain corresponding relation with deinking efficiency of DOBP deinking system. When Zeta potential of the deinking system was more great, and surface tension was more low in a certain range(Zeta potential was -17.0~ -16.0mV and surface tension was 59.0~61.0mN/m), brightness and ink removal efficiency of DOBP will be improved.

Refining is an energy-intensive papermaking process where energy consumption contributes about 18% of the total manufacturing cost. Through the application of cellulases before refining, mills can reduce their energy requirement for refining of pulps and realize the aim of energy consumption. In the present study, two kinds of cellulase within or wothout the cellulose binding domains (CBDs) were used to treat the pulp aimed at reducing the refining energy consumption in production of grease proof paper. In order to compare and evaluate these effects on reducing the pulp refining energy consumption, these two cellulases were compared based on their effects on Schopper-Riegler freeness (°SR), fiber morphology and paper properties ( tensile index, tear index). Orthogonal test was used to examine the interaction of enzyme dosages and contact time on the beatability of the pulp. Results showed that the cellulase of Refinase M (within the CBDs) was excellent in reducing the refining energy consumption, when pretreated with 0.02% of Refinase M about 18.5% of the refining energy can be saved, and the properties of paper were not affected obviously. Moreover, results showed that the existence of CBDs in cellulases play a significant role in reducing the energy consumption. Examination of the fiber surface by SEM show notable improvement in fibrillation.

High consistency refining (HCR) and low consistency refining (LCR) of unbleached Masson’s pine kraft pulps for sack paper were studied in this article. The properties of their refined pulp and handsheet were analyzed comparatively. The results showed a high consistency refining was more suitable for sack paper with unbleached Masson’s pine kraft pulp than a low consistency refining. High consistency refining is of advantage to retain the fiber length. The tear index of the handsheet of high consistency refining were higher than that of low consistency refining. The TtensileT TenergyT Tabsorption (TEA)T index and air permeability of the handsheet of high consistency refining which were crucial properties of sack papers were better, though higher tensile index could be obtained with low consistency refining.

Eco-friendly high-yield pulps (HYP) are becoming increasingly used to product high value-added fine paper that is traditionally produced exclusively with chemical pulps. However, due to the presence of a large quantity of photosensitive lignin in the HYP pulp to more effectively utilize woods resources, there is a concern on the long term brightness stability of HYP containing paper. In this research, various TiO2was added to coating colors to improve the light fastness properties of HYP containing coated paper. The effect on the stability of optical properties of coated paper including brightness, opacity, color difference and the degree of brightness reversion before and after accelerated aging were studied. It was shown that the brightness stability of the HYP containing coated paper increased with increased addition of TiO2. Rutile TiO2was especially more effective than other types of TiO2on yellowing inhibition of coated paper. At a dosage of 3 parts of rutile TiO2, the brightness stability of coated paper containing 20% of HYP was found to be even better than paper made of 100% chemical pulp coated with conventional coating color.

It is an important factor that the paper tension for web press printing and roll paper manufacture. Especially commerce web press is the more important. The commerce web press has not only the first tension control, but also the second tension control. The second tension control would control tension wave restrict accurate bound. The simulation method was discussed about paper tape tension the second tension control on some problems of high speed Web press controlling system in actual adjustment course, and different respond graph was obtained on the different controlling parameter by MATLAB and controlling system capability target. Intuitionistic and exact foundation was offered for system analysis, comparison and choice arithmetic, which benefits the further research.

The intention of this paper is to review of some recent innovative novelties about paper and board pigment coating raw materials. First an overview is given of “traditional” coating raw materials and the coating process. Then new starch based pigments and binders as well as novel plastic pigments are reviewed regarding their effect on coated paper properties. Finally it is concluded that further innovations and research are needed.

To enhance printing qualities, this study used refluxed silica (SiO2) from rice husk by hydrochloric acid (HCl) at different molarities and reaction times as coating agent for printed paper. Characterization of the refluxed silica from 2M HCl 120 min elucidated the purity of 98.7% and amorphous structure. Particle size of the silica exhibited uniform size of 3 μm and the color measurement (CIE L*a*b*) indicated 94.79+0.48+1.24, whiteness and color difference (E) were 84.85, 3.28, respectively. The coating agent was prepared by water-based varnish of acrylic resin mixed with the synthesized silica at different proportions: 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 (%wt), and later was applied on 170 g/m2-white kraft papers. The results showed that the water-based coating varnish with silica exhibited an increase of viscosity as increasing the amount of the silica. Printing qualities indicated that the vanished printed paper with 1.0% silica elucidated the highest details in shadow tone and text (font) sharpness. The color gamut yielded a wider scope than the printed papers which were varnished with the silica at 0.0%, 0.5% and 1.5%. Nonetheless, the color density showed insignificant difference to 1.5% silica varnished paper.

Paper-based material has been frequently used as part of packaging solution as an option towards reducing municipal solid waste generation. Various studies on mechanical behaviour of paper-pulp packaging material have been conducted based on the machining direction and cross machining direction. However, there is still gap of information on paper-pulp packaging material behaviour at diagonal direction. A study has been conducted to investigate the variability to tensile properties of paper-pulp packaging at various packaging section (draft and base surface) and different specimen orientation (horizontal, vertical, and diagonal direction). In this research, results from the stress-strain relationship obtained from tensile and compression tests are presented. The data obtained are further analysed using ANOVA to find out whether material variations are significantly different with varying sections and orientations. Findings in this research supported the anisotropic properties of paper-based packaging material. Draft surfaces exhibit weaker strength than base surface. Also, the variability of stiffness and strength of specimens are more significant in horizontal and vertical direction compared to diagonal direction.

This paper experimentally examined the impact of four different drying methods (free drying, press drying, vacuum drying and impingement drying) on paper physical properties including roughness, elongation, air permeance, tearing resistance, tensile index and bursting strength. The handsheets materials are HWBKP (Hardwood Bleached Chemical Pulp), SWBKP (Softwood Bleached Chemical Pulp), CTMP (Chemical Thermo mechanical Pulp) and ATMP (Advanced Thermo Mechanical Pulp). Good experimental data were obtained for the four pulps under different drying conditions. The results of our investigation indicate that press drying have lower surface roughness, elongation and air permeance but higher tearing resistance; the vacuum drying have higher roughness, tensile index and bursting strength; the impingement drying have lower tearing resistance, tensile index and bursting strength but higher elongation and air permeance. Selection of different drying conditions for effective productivity and quality improvement potential is proposed as a direction for the future dryer design.

This paper describes the precipitated calcium carbonate filler applied to paper industry, which was prepared by adding a specific crystal control agent. And a series of influencing factors in carbonation process was studied, such as carbonization temperature, concentration of milk of lime, carbon dioxide concentration and the crystal shape control dosage. Therefore the optimum conditions for preparation of chrysanthemum-shaped crystalline calcium carbonate were determined.

In the effort to produce sustainable concrete, considerable attempt has been placed on replacing the main ingredients in concrete mixtures with more sustainable materials with the objective to reduce the carbon footprint. One of the replacement materials is waste paper sludge ash (WPSA), a local industrial by-product generated abundantly by newsprint mills which possesses considerable cementitious properties. Parallel to this, the high amount of construction waste, particularly concrete waste has become a difficult environmental issue to cope with in todays world. For this reason, recycling of concrete waste as a new alternative aggregate is being effectively utilized in concrete production. Thus, this paper reports on a study conducted to evaluate the compressive strength characteristics of the potential of using WPSA as a binder and fine recycled concrete aggregate (FRCA) as a virgin sand replacement in producing foamed concrete. The findings of this study exhibited that the inclusion of WPSA and FRCA for replacement ratios up to 20% and 15% respectively has significantly influenced the strength properties of foamed concrete.

Paper pulp molding products meet the product-protecting requirements and operating requirements through all kinds of structural forms in the application of product packaging, fixation and product buffering shockproof. Paper pulp molding products structural design influences the buffering performance of paper pulp molding products and packaging requirements of the products, therefore influences the packaging structure, processing production, mold design and processing method of paper pulp molding products.

Low density printing paper was widely used in printing best-seller at present. Besides of high bulk, good stiffness, soft color, it also had some advantages, such as reducing user’s load, protecting eyes, extending the storage time etc. Quality index of domestic low density printing paper was lower than foreign index. The gap mainly expressed on tensile index specially. This study used Aspen BECMP as main pulp, as a result of its higher strength, lower cost and other advantages comparing with PRC-APMP. Here we discussed three pulps ratio to make low density printing paper. The results of experiment indicated that using Aspen BECMP was able to make low density printing paper by adding certain amount chemistry pulp. Moreover, the best bulk value can up to 2.45cm3/g, and the tensile index was 36.08Nm/g.

This paper presents a distributed machine vision inspection system, which has a large field of view (FOV) and can perform high precision, high speed real-time inspection for wide paper sheet detection. The system consists of multiple GigE Vision linescan cameras which connected though Gigabit Ethernet. The cameras are arranged into a linear array so that every camera’s FOV is merged into one large FOV in the meantime the resolution keeps unchanged. In order to acquire high processing speed, the captured images from each camera are sent into one dedicate computer for distributed and parallel image processing. Experimental results show that the system with fine detection capability can satisfy the requirements of real time detection and find out the defects on the production line effectively.

In this paper, we studied the possibility of wood powder in place of mechanical pulp in paper making to get high bulkness, also the dry-bleaching method of wood powder, the strength enhancement and retention effect for wood powder during paper making were all introduced and analyzed in detail.

Tobacco stem and tobacco dust made reconstituted tobacco paper-base with a paper-making method, effect of extracted and refined on tobacco stem and tobacco dust, particular effect of tobacco stem and tobacco dust ratio on physical properties, chemical composition and microstructure of reconstituted tobacco paper-base were studied. The results indicated that the content of water soluble sugars, total alkaloid, chloride, total nitrogen of the extracted tobacco stem and extracted tobacco dust were decreased, content of holocellulose was increased. With decreasing of tobacco stem pulp ratio (increasing of tobacco dust pulp ratio) of reconstituted tobacco paper-base, there was rapid decrease in tensile index, tear index, bulk and air permeability of reconstituted tobacco paper-base. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) showed that tobacco dust ratio more than 30%, bulk of reconstituted tobacco paper-base decreased significantly. Content of water soluble sugar, total alkaloid, chloride and total nitrogen of tobacco reconstituted paper-base decreasing significantly after paper-making.

Some properties of paper sludge were analyzed, including water content, organic material content, pH value, fiber content, ash content,C,H,O,N,S and metal content in dried sludge. The results showed that water content was high, organic material content was high, pH value was in a neutral level, metal elements were varied. Besides, calorific value was detected in a thermal power plant.Disposal of residue wastes from pulp and paper mills is a paramount issue facing the world today. Paper sludge is the solid waste from papermaking industry. The sludge treatment and disposal process will bring about environmental pollution. Therefore,much attentions should be paid to disposal of paper sludge. It is expected that this paper can provide deep insights into the disposal of paper sludge.

The purpose of this resarch was investigated the air-oil temperature field distribution under air-oil lubrication and oil lublubrication, meanwhile also study the air-oil lubrication effect under different air velocity inlet the bearing cavities of the high-speed paper machine dryer section. Base on the CFD theory, the temperature field of CARB bearing outer ring and the velocity field of the bearing cavities were simulated by the FLUENT software.Result show that air-oil lubricatin can reach the same cooling effect is contras with oil lubrication in the same heat production by roller; the best air-velocity value of air-oil lubrication system is obtain for the change of temperature and pressure in bearing cavities. It is confirm that the air-oil lubrication is viable in the high-speed paper machine dryer section.

For high print quality, halftone dots should have minimal dot gain and sharp, circular edges, the receiving surface must have a line, high-porosity structure and be hydrophilic. Paper surface chemistry requirements for good inkjet print quality are so unconventional that new paper grades for printing should be specially designed. In this paper, the printability, coating structure and the color reproduction after printing of coated paper was studied.

Composite soils have been widely used in civil engineering applications, especially in slopes, embankment dam and landfills. This paper aims to investigate effect of fiber inclusion on shear stress of composite soil (i.e. clay composite). A series of laboratory direct shear tests carried out to evaluate paper reinforcement effect on strength behavior of composite clay. Kaolin clay was selected as soil part of the composite and paper was used as reinforcement. The paper reinforcement parameters differed from one test to another, the paper length was changed from 10 mm to 30 mm and paper content were varied from 5% to 15%. Normal stress kept constant at 150 kPa. For each test, stress_ displacement graph derived and the results were compared. The results proved that inclusion of paper reinforcement affected strength behaviour of clay composite so that increasing in paper reinforcement content and length caused increasing in shear stress.

Waste paper recycling refers to a process of regeneration-ink and other impurities being removed from waste materials and pulp fibers being recycled. The ink is the main impurity for waste paper. Especially, the residual ink influences the quality of deinking pulp and determines its purpose. Therefore, to expand the scope of deinking pulp use, inks must be removed as much as possible, to reduce the residual volume.

The paper pulp compression molding material is one of the most commonly used materials in packing industry. Their mechanical properties attract attentions from professional visitors and researchers. It is a difficult work to test the mechanical properties as the paper pulps are thin, anisotropic and sometimes wet. To spray ink spots with the surface of the specimens is not allowed either. The digit image frequency correlation method (DIFC) is presented in the paper, the information carrier of the displacement is the nature texture on the tested surface. Image acquiring and analysis are accomplished by the CCD camera and computer. From the displacement field strain distributions were obtained and the mechanical properties of the paper pulp compression molding material were evaluated. The test system is simple and the sensitivity is adjustable. DIFC is approved a suitable test method for paper pulp compression molding material.

The paper explores the use of pineapple leaf fiber (PALF), banana stem fiber and kenaf fiber to produce paper has been done in order to find the alternative source and the method to recyle used newspaper. The decreasing of already material which is cause by the unstable ecosystem and taking long time to harvest. The alternative source can help to increase production of paper and reduce the cost of production. The experiments using PALF, banana stem fiber and kenaf fiber as raw material in paper production have been conducted to assess the advantages in terms of mechanical properties, especially tensile strength, tearing strength, thickness, and grammage of paper. The result obtained from the tests will be compared among the three types of material. Through the observation of the experiment, it was found that the data obtained with different properties of paper produced from the different material.

In is paper precipitated silica is used in coated paper coating. It shows that the effect of different silica on properties of pigment dispersion is different. The dosage of silica influences the properties of pigment dispersion too. The viscosity of coating is higher than the corresponding pigment dispersion. The higher the viscosity of pigment dispersion is, the higher the corresponding viscosity of coating is. The more the dosage of silica is and the littler the particle size of silica is, the larger water retention value of coating is. When the precipitated silica is used in coated paper coating, the viscosity of coating is increasing. If precipitated silica coat paper, the whiteness of coated paper increases by 1%-2%

The manufacturing process of particle composite for furniture, made of waste paper and wood particle, was studied and discussed in this paper, and an ornament cabinet and a Chinese style teapoy were assembled in the laboratory with the composite. The results showed the mechanical properties of composite made of waste paper, was low. Wood particle was blended with waste paper and made into composite, and the mechanical properties of the composite could meet the demand of particle board for furniture and ornament under the Chinese national standard. The application of waste paper-based composite was feasible technically.

The physical structure and chemical properties of coating layer have an important influence on transferring and setting of the printing ink. In this study, the effect of pigment on coating layer structure and surface properties was investigated. The surface topography was explored using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The findings indicated that the pigment affected the pore size, depth and distribution of the coated paper surface. The conclusions were drawn that coating could improve coating surface topography and calcium carbonate pigment compared with kaolin pigment was not good to the paper surface properties, which resulted in high roughness, low paper gloss, high ink absorption and low paper surface efficiency.

This paper uses the culture paper commonly-used filler PCC (precipitated calcium carbonate) and makes a good ratio of other raw materials and dosage of various other chemicals. Under the certain papermaking craft condition, with the certain quantum, the experiment changes the filler proportion of the paper to make paper samples and test the samples’ properties and the printing ink transfer.The experiment establishes an influence curve relationship, through that we analysis and draw the conclusion when the proportion of PCC is in the range 20% to 30%, it will get better ink transfer effect, which will provide reference for actual production.

For the family embarrassment and annoyance brought by the replacement of slippers when someone pays a visit, a cutting paper tape machine for sole coating was designed. Based on the detailed calculation and preliminary drafted general design scheme, the electric motor was chosen, the transmission ratio was distributed reasonably, the structural style and related parameters of worm gear were designed, and the stress strength was checked. Based on these, the three-dimensional model was established, through simply simulation, the scheme was verified and improved, and the parametric design was realized. Thus, one kind of convenient and practical cutting paper tape machine for sole coating is provided for families and high-grade places, which is greatly convenient to visitors.

This article states the principle and design method of load distribution, discussing the problems and solutions in the process of designing load distribution; the description about the importance of designing load distribution in the paper machine transmission system provides a theoretical proof to avoid uneven load distribution. And in this paper, the application of ACS800’s DTC inverter in load distribution of 2640/500 three fleeting multi-cylinder paper machine is introduced. The inverter’s communication, automatic interlock and parameter’ setting are presented. The application in practice proves that the result is effective. Meanwhile the attentive matters in practice are also provided.

In this paper, the effect of the charge of hydrophilic and lipophilic nanosized TiO2 on the optical properties and printability of coated paper was investigated. The parameters including brightness, opacity, surface strength and sizing degree were used to evaluate the optical properties and printability of coated paper. The effects of hydrophilic and lipophilic TiO2 on the properties of coated paper were discussed. It was shown that the optical properties and printability of coated paper increase persistently with the change of nanosized TiO2 charged from 5% to 15%. Once the charge of nanosized TiO2 was over 15%, the main properties of coated paper took on a downward tendency. The properties of coated paper were related to the surface properties of nanosized TiO2 samples. It was found that the lipophilicity of nanosized TiO2 sample played a more important role in the improvement of the coated paper properties, which was believed to be based on the fact that lipophilic nanosized TiO2 could be well compatible with the binders used in the paper coating.

The article introduces each component of feeding paper machine of printing press which are press feet mechanism, paper separation mechanism and paper transfer mechanism, the function and the principle of work. Each mechanism is undertook a variety of designs and we choose the best design of each structure according to its functions. Design adopted is as follows: Press feet mechanism adopts the cam-linkage mechanism; Paper separation mechanism adopts the cam-linkage slider mechanism; Paper transfer mechanism adopts the conjugate cam-linkage slider mechanism. The machine is simple, practical and reliable.

Preservative was very necessary used in coated paper coating. Preservative was typical paper additive which was low dosage and high yield. Preservative classification, function mechanism and application technology of coated paper coating was introduced and summarized by the numbers in this paper. Finally the development direction and prospect of preservative used in coated paper coating was prospected.
