This paper deals with the preparation of Plate-shaped Calcium Carbonate and Its Application in the Paper Coating. calcium oxide and carbon dioxide were used as major materials to preparetion the Plate-shaped Calcium Carbonate, The best reaction conditions as follows: w(CaO)：w（H2O）=1：5, V（CO2）：V（atmosphere）=1：2. Then use the Plate-shaped Calcium Carbonate in spreading. The results show that the Plate-shaped Calcium Carbonate is a high-performance product that can obviously enhance the paper’s smoothness, whiteness, air permeability, printing ink absorbance.

lightweight composite paper honeycomb core wallboard as green building materials and low carbon product of modern life, its lightweight and energy saving, environmental protection, easy construction which other wallboards can't reach, but in actual use, the residents reflects its sound insulation performance is not very well, The lightweight composite paper honeycomb core wallboardand is composite with two rigid panel and paper honeycomb core which is in the middle of the wallboard. However, at present, people rarely Study on Sound Insulation Property of lightweight composite paper honeycomb core wallboard, so take the lightweight composite paper honeycomb core wallboard as the research object, through several sets of Different Specifications wallboard of experiment test,, the results showed that:The sound isolation property of calcium silicate panel is better than Gesso panel’s. The thick panel’s sound isolation property is better than the thin one. At the same thickness, the more layers of paper honeycomb core, the better sound isolation effect. Increase the layer number of paper honeycomb core has remarkable effect on sound isolation property.

This paper presents a compound fuzzy control algorithm method having modifiable factors based on PLC, and the modified fuzzy controller and PI regulator is realized by PLC, the system solves problems of imprecise paper cutter speeds, instability, and paper cuttings of different lengths. The results show that the system can effectively restrain influences from pure time-delays while maintaining stability and strong robustness.

Color management has been applied in the printing industry since 1993. Press papers as one of traditional substrates, its properties impact the quality of color reproductions. At present, almost all kinds of papers contain OBA. OBA works by absorbing ultraviolet wavelengths of the illuminant, emitting fluorescence at blue wavelengths, increasing the amount of light, and making the paper brighter. This effect of OBA is difficult to measure with common spectrophotometers accurately, which creates a mismatch between color proofing and printing. Furthermore, both the printing standards, as ISO 12647-2 defined substrate without fluorescence. It results in some problems in printing conformance using paper with OBA. This research discovered influence of OBA to color samples, derived colorimetric conversion method to correct and compensate the effects of OBA in papers, and demonstrated the efficient of the colorimetric conversion method in color management workflow with soft proofing.

Lots of unearthed objects and historical documents indicate the paper-making technology which had been invented in Western Han Dynasty moved to Japan through the Korean peninsula. This paper took the development of paper-making technology and how it spread to the major countries of East Asia as a clue to find out evidence of the early transmission of traditional handmade paper from the ancient literature, archaeological materials, research papers, and museum collections. Literature studies, field inspections and the traditional ways of recovery process were the main methods we used. After collecting and studying the materials, we drew the outline of the general picture of traditional handmade paper transmitting in the major countries of East Asia, and made a discussion about the relevant issues on the condition that the traditional handmade paper how to adapt to the geographical variation and the printing technology.

Four kinds of ink-jet papers with different surface characteristics are chosen in this paper, by the ink-jet proofing experiments, the influence of surface characteristics to dot gain is studied, and the law of dot gain with paper surface characteristics is discussed. During the experiment, surface properties including absorbency, gloss, roughness and whiteness are tested firstly; then, the standard wedge of GATF is printed on these papers in the same printing conditions; finally, the dot gain is tested by SpectroEye. After experimental data processing and analysis, dot gain curves of different ink-jet papers are concluded, the law of dot gain with ink-jet paper surface characteristics is summarized. The results show that dot gain is different in different paper, the evaluation of 3# is the best; dot gain is also different with different colors in the same paper, and it is serious in cyan but light in yellow; the biggest dot gain appears in different contrast with different colors, cyan appears near the 65% dot area. The result of this paper offers a certain theoretical reference and practical guidance to the selection, the research and development of ink-jet paper as well as the improvement of ink-jet qualities.

Paper surface efficiency (PSE), a paper property integrating gloss and absorbency, can be used to evaluate color reproduction after the interaction of paper and ink. But it was shown that the color reproduction was still related to paper whiteness in practice. So it is important to amend the PSE formula. In this paper, an assumed PSE formula which integrates gloss, whiteness and ink absorbency is firstly presented, and according to experimental data, it can be well forecasted that the change of these principal paper properties would affect color reproduction result via the new PSE formula. The data connection between the assumed and new PSE formula and ink color reproduction based the description of photo-density measurement and chromatic one was studied subsequently. The results showed that photo-density measurement was simpler and more practical than chromatic measurement.

The precision of transferring paper is key factors to decide the print overprint accuracy, and vibration has an important impact on paper transferring accuracy. Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) can be used to extract the features of vibration test signal. According to the intrinsic mode function (IMF) by extracted, it is useful to analyze the dynamic characteristics of swing gripper arm on motion state. Due to the actual conditions of printing, the vibration signal of Paper-Transferring mechanism system is complex quasi periodic signals. Hilbert-Huang marginal spectrum that is based on empirical mode decomposition can solve the problem which is modals leakage by FFT calculated in frequency domain. Through the experimental research, the phase information of impact load at the moment of grippers opening or closing, which can be used for the optimization design of Paper-Transferring system and the improvement in the accuracy of swing gripper arm.

Each component of die-cutting machine at high speed may produce vibration and die-cutting quality would be affected in different degrees by direct or indirect vibration. Position accuracy of paper-conveying grippers may be an important influencing factor. Under some suitable hypothetical conditions, single degree of freedom no-damp dynamic model was established based on transferring principle of mass and stiffness equivalence and principle of equivalent substitution. Position process has been discussed at high speed, dynamic displacement deviationresponse spectrum has been gotten by numerical computation method in cam resting rang. The result of the analysis and computation shows that position error has an increasing tendency with the increase of the working speed. So it is vitally necessary that the maximum speed of die-cutting machine must be limited to meet die-cutting accuracy requirement when natural frequency of the machine is known.

The function of components and the theory of oil-paper capacitive bushing are introduced by analyzing its contracture, and the electric properties of insulation materials are instructed. The reasons and damages of lack of oil are proper illustrated, and the judging methods are offered. The distinguishing process of lack oil of bushing is illustrated by examples, and the accuracy and rationality of lack of oil finding by capacitive volume, dielectric loss angle, oil chromatogram analyzing and infrared ray test are demonstrated.

Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) is the most widely used co-binder and rheology modifier in paper coating. This work presents an investigation on the effects of CMC on coating structure development by measuring viscosity of the coating colors and by characterizing properties of the dried coatings. The results showed that CMC addition increased coating color viscosity and impeded latex migration to the surface during drying. However brightness, porosity and K&N ink absorbency of the coatings increased. It was assumed that viscosity increase and colloidal interactions between CMC and pigment particles caused less latex to migrate to the surface during drying, which in turn results in higher brightness and porosity of the coatings.

Effect of organic bentonite on rheological behavior of paper coating was studied. Organic bentonite was prepared by treating sodium bentonite with dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride (DADMAC) at the following conditions: DADMAC 20%, reaction time 3h, reaction temperature 80°C and pH 9. The results showed that shear stress and voscosity of coating enhance with increasing the amount of organic bentonite. In this testing, all of flow curves fitted Cross model very much, and rheologiclal properties showed the pseudoplastic fluid, characterized as obvious shear thinning .The bentonite modified with DADMAC could promote the rheological behavior of coating.

To improve the stability of a Paper-Transferring Mechanism (PTM), a profound understanding must be made on its vibration characteristics, on which based, a modified design was made. Through kinetic and dynamic analysis of the PTM, the natural frequencies were obtained based on the vibration signal detection and noise signal analysis. To reduce the vibration response of the PTM, first is to reduce its maximum acceleration and reduce the quality of moving parts and improve its quality distribution, then structural modification to the wallboards and pull beams of the platform should be made to render its inherent frequencies from its working frequencies.

This article does three-dimensional design for feeding device of octavo and color small offset press based on the pro/E software. It analyses the role of each part separately, requirements, and the working principle. And it does the design for the main transmission mechanism. The three-dimensional design of the device provides reference and basis for production and manufacturing of the printing press.

Analyzed the result computed of finite element heat transfer, discovered the temperature difference between the two sides of head is very small. Therefore its hot loss is very big. In addition, the temperature of dryer head flank is basically the same. Therefore the dryer head's heat dissipation can be simplified as a question of univariate heat conduction, also simplified to be a big plate heat conduction problem. This article offers simple algorithmic analysis of dryer head temperature field algorithm and the heat dissipation computation, and studied the head temperature computation and the heat dissipation analysis with a heat preservation board added. The importance that increased heat preservation board for energy conservation is pointed out.

In this paper, soy protein papermaking process conditions as dry strength agents were studied. The results show that a part of the three parts of soy protein and a mixed system with a cationic starch alone, or cationic starch, soy protein, as compared to dry strength additives will significantly increase the strength. The optimum conditions were: pulp types E, defatted soy protein, dry vacuum drying method is 105°C, adding ways to add the pulp, the best reaction time was 10min, the optimum dosage of 2%. Soy protein sources are widely readily available, and environmentally friendly and easily biodegradable, paper dry strength agents as a good material.

Proper waste management in Malaysia is needed for the organic wastes such as pineapple leaf and cassava peel where affects the increase the amount of solid waste dump into landfill. Thus, to overcome this problem agro waste material can be constructed in many production industries to commercialize the use of alternative fibre for the paper industry. The main objective of this study is to demonstrate the use of fibrous in pineapple leaf and cassava peel by production of alternative fibre based on chemical properties and surface morphology characteristic. This study conducted for the chemical composition by analysed by TAPPI Test method, Chlorination method and Kuchner-Hoffner method. Every chemical components analyse; Cellulose (Kuchner-Hoofner), Holocellulose (Chlorination method), Hemicellulose (Chlorination method), Hemicellulose, Ash content (T211-om-93), Lignin content (T222-om-98) and Sodium Hydroxide soluble (T203-om-88). The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to observe and determine the morphological characteristic of both crops. The result indicates that pineapple leaf more suitable for becoming an alternative fibre than cassava peels. Pineapple leaves have a high Holocellulose content (85.7%), cassava peels 66%, followed by Cellulose pineapple leaf (66.2%), cassava peels (37.9%). However, hemicellulose content in pineapple leaf (19.5%) less than cassava peels (37.0%). Lignin content of pineapple leaf is lower (4.2%) compared to cassava peels (7.52%) in this study. From SEM images, cassava peel contained abundance fibre such as hemicellulose and cellulose that is held by the lignin in it and Pineapple leaves give a condensed composition of fibre structure. The chemical compositions and morphology study of pineapple leaf and cassava indicate pineapple leaf have a high percentage to be used as an alternative pulp in paper making industry, promoting the green technology. However, cassava peels make some of properties that can also be through for the paper industry.

When processing in the manufacture for production of paperboard boxes, there arises amount of waste paper as material, which is subsequently sent for recycling. The paper passes through the first crushing device, which ensures small pieces so that they can be transported by pipeline to a pressing apparatus. Paper material in the molding machine is forced into the pits of suitable size due to the additional handling and transport. So both pipe as well as the molding machine may be so congested with material during the failure that the equipment requires unexpected additional cleaning. The sensor detects the level of waste material in pressing device, thereby avoiding congestion in a timely manner and prevents subsequent failure. The sensor uses the resonant frequency of the oscillating rod. The microprocessor controls and evaluates the response of the rod oscillations. Sensor performance was exposed to qualification tests when it shows ability to operate also in extreme conditions such as dirty and dusty surrounding with high humidity and temperature level. Sensor detects the vibration attenuation at the poles of the rod that is caused by touching different materials. Thus may indicate changing concentration level of a material and not just pieces of paper but for example, also sand or other suitable materials or height of fluid surface.

In this paper, the low-temperature (the maximum pulping temperature was less than 150°C) and conventional (the maximum pulping temperature was 165°C) kraft pulp of pinus kesiya and Dendrocalamus giganteus Munro were bleached by OQPaP. Then bleaching properties and paper properties of two kinds of bleached pulp were compared and evaluated respectively. The results showed that the strength indexes of the kraft pulp at low temperature were significantly higher than those of conventional pulp with lower viscosity.

This paper analyzes the delignification mechanism of wheat straw pulping process. The lignin removal of pulping process is left in black liquor. The higher the black liquor lignin content is, the bigger the lignin of paper pulp is removed. The relations of black liquor lignin content and alkali concentration to pulping time are described in detail. The results show that delignification process is divided into two stages: quick and slow stage. The lignin removal rate in the first stage is much higher than the second, that is, lignin has been removed more sufficiently after quick stage. In first stage, reaction order of delignification is 1.0, and 0.7 with respect to OH-, the activation energy is 38.62 kJ • mol-1. The latter delignification also belongs to the first-order reaction and 4.4 with respect to OH-, the activation energy is 75.56 kJ • mol-1. Apparently, slow stage needs to consume large amounts of energy to removal lignin.

In this study, we prepared unbleached chemi-mechanical pulp from waste poplar wood using alkaline processing under normal atmospheric pressure. The influnce of alkaline dosage and time to fiber morphology and properties of the paper were discussed. The parameters of fiber including the length ,width and curl index were measured by FQA. The optimal dosage of NaOH and the optimal time of soaking period in the preparation of pulp using waste poplar wood were studied. The results showed that the optimal dosage of NaOH was 6% and the time of soaking period was one day. The performance of the handsheet made from the poplar wood under the pulping conditions are as follows: tensile strength index of 27 N·m/g, tear index of 0.51 mN·m2/g, burst index of 1.7 KPa·m2/g, folding strength of 16 times, ring crush strength index of 5.7 N.m/g, whiteness of 55.5 ISO, white opacity of 97%, paper absorption liquid rate of 0.32 mm/s.

Enzymatic refining of eucalypt bleached kraft pulp with the cellulase NOV476 was studied. The effects of this cellulase on the physical properties of pulp, fiber morphology and fiber appearance of the eucalypt bleached kraft pulp in different application conditions were discussed. The results show that, with the increase in the amount of enzyme, tensile strength index, burst index and TEA index of paper are increased and then decreased; elongation and tear index of paper have been declining, Zeeil tensile strength index has been an upward trend. Without beating the pulp sample, gradually increases as the amount of enzyme, the average fiber length and the average fiber width are gradually reduced, while mean kink index substantially constant. Number of vessels in fiber overall reduced tendency reaches a minimum in the amount of enzyme 0.5μ/g, the phenomenon is most obvious. In the same conditions of beating time, gradually increases as the amount of enzyme, the average fiber length is gradually reduced, an average fiber width is gradually increased, the mean kink index reaches a maximum in the amount of enzyme is 0.5μ/g. Number of vessels in fiber overall reduced trend.

This paper compared the differences of laccase modified APMP and unmodified controlled trails to characterize laccase’s impacts on the whiteness, physical properties and fiber morphology of APMP. From this paper, we can see that after laccase modified, the whiteness of the APMP significantly reduced; physical properties of the APMP were reduced after the first enhanced with increasing the amount of laccase. when the amount of laccase was 2u/g, the physical properties of the APMP were best, the same time after 2u/g laccase treatment ,the surfaces of the pulp fibers engendered the devillicate and peeling.

The stickies in pulp and paper machinery especially in the blankets will cause a lot of problems such as paper defects, increasing the time of machine shut down . Therefore, Inhibiting the Stickies of blanket is very important to regular production. In this study,we mainly studied on the inhibition of Stickies in the blanket with enzyme. The processed blanket was treated by several kinds of enzymes. The results showed that the optimum enzyme treatment conditions were obtained as followings:PH of 7, temperature of 50°C, 2×104U/g of cellulose enzyme, 2×103U/g of amylase and 104U/g of lipase. The blankets obtained better cleaning situation under this conditions.

With the improvement of environmental protection requirements, paper-making enterprises are imperative to eliminate pollution directly in production. This paper aims to adopt environment-friendly bleaching method, yield good quality pulp products. Op-Pa-P bleaching process of reed displacement cooking pulp is studied in this paper (O-oxygen, P-hydrogen peroxide, Pa-peracetic acid ). The experimental conditions of Op and Pa stage were optimized respectively. It included oxygen pressure, temperature, time in Op stage and charge of peracetic acid, temperature, time in Pa stage. The results show that the optimal technological conditions of Op are: 0.9Mpa, 100°C, 70min, Op stage can make brightness increase by 57.3%, viscosity decrease by 25% and KMnO4 number reduce to 2.6. Pa stage optimal conditions are Pa charge 1.5%, 70°C, 75min, brightness reached to 79.1 %ISO, KMnO4 number to 1.0, viscosity to 631mL.g-1. The brightness of P bleached pulp reached to 84.8%ISO, viscosity 601 mL.g-1, KMnO4 number 0.8.

The total sulfur rate of the coal sample was 4.973%, the inorganic sulfur content was more than 60%, which was the main component in the coal sample. The effect of grinding fineness, flotation pulp density, collector and frother on coal flotation desulfurization were investigated in this paper to remove the inorganic sulfur. The results showed that it reached to the optimum desulfurization rate 54.7% when the optimum grinding fineness was 39.20% -200 mesh rate, pulp concentration was 80 g/L, kerosene consumption was 1.4 kg/t, 2#oil loading was 100 g/t, and the total sulfur content reduced to 2.72%. The optimized flotation condition determined by orthogonal experiments was as follow: pulp density for 60 g/L, kerosene dosage of 1.4 kg/t, 2#oil consumption of 100 g/t. In this case, total sulfur content reduced to 2.19%, the total desulfurization rate and the inorganic desulfurization rate were 55.96% and 92.89%, respectively.

Influences of self-developed additives WEC02/WEC03 on sizing of mechanical pulp are analyzed in this study. The results indicated that the optimal dosage for paper sizing were 0.2% (w/w) for WEC02, with sizing degree of 33 s, and 0.8% for WEC03, with sizing degree of 52 s. In addition, the combined usage of WEC02 (0.2%) and WEC03 (0.6%) at pH7.0 could get better sizing performance than single application of WEC02 or WEC03 with sizing value of 77 s. It is obvious that WEC02/WEC03 have great potential to improve sizing efficiency in neutral paperrmaking, leading to saving the sizes dosage and cutting down the production cost.

Chinese paper companies wastewater emissions, has become an important source of pollution. This article describes the sources of the paper industry wastewater, the main pollutant, the status and shortcomings of conventional treatment technology research. The study progress and applications of photocatalytic oxidation reaction in the treatment of wastewater from pulp and papermaking process were reviewed. The potential advantages and the development trend of photocatlytic oxidation reaction in the fields of effluent treatment were discussed.

This paper describes the method of treating wheat straw pulp black liquor with microwave radiation. The granular activated carbon and CuO are used as a catalyst.Effects of effective factors such as the total amount, ratio, microwave power, time on treating process are studied. The reaction mechanism is also researched. The results indicate that the oxidative decomposition process of lignin or organic pollutants is combined action of activated carbon and CuO absorption-degradation with microwave induced oxidization. This approach is easy to operate, quickly to treat, completely to react and no new pollutants. So it is used to treat black liquor of containing organic pollutes which is hardly degraded.

This paper aims to study the effect of using Oxidized White Liquor (OWL) on pulp brightness in peroxide bleaching. The proper setting of the concentration of hydrogen peroxide, the bleaching temperature, and the bleaching time was also studied. The Central Composite Design (CCD) was proposed to generate necessary experimental runs. Regression analysis was used to determine the relationship equation. Optimization helped determine that to obtain the targeted brightness of 83%, the ratio between the volume of OWL and sodium hydroxide should be 50:50. This ratio should be used with a concentration of hydrogen peroxide at 6.9 g/kg, a bleaching temperature of 90 oC and a bleaching time of 75 minutes.

Recovery and use of secondary fiber for paper production is increasing all over the word. In recovered paper recycling, stickies are the most detrimental among the contaminants, affecting both the process efficiency and the quality of the final product. In this study, StickAway enzyme was used to treat the old newspaper(ONP) pulps. The effect of enzymatic treatment on the macro and micro-stickies, the drainage property, as well as the formation of paper products were investigated. After treatment of samples with 3LU/g (o.d pulp) doses of enzymatic for 1.5 h, it was found that 14.6% of the micro-stickies could be removed. The cationic demand, turbidity value and particle size were decreased 7.23%, 14.4% and 6.02% respectively compared the control sample. Furthermore, enzymatic treatment also improved the drainage properties of pulp slurry and the formation of paper products. Results confirmed that under the optimal conditions, the StickAway enzyme show the excellent performance in the treatment of the stickies of recovered pulps.

The hydrophobicity characteristic of lignocellulosic fibers is an advantage for some paper or paperboard. In this work, the unbleached kraft pulp was treated by laccase and lauryl gallate (LG). The sizing degree, water retention value (WRV) and the wet strength of the treated fibers were studied. The optimal process conditions such as the beating degree of pulp, the drying time and drying temperature of the resulting paper for improving the sizing degree and wet strength were discussed. The results showed that the sizing degree of pulp with beating degree of 25 °SR could be increased by 4.6 times after laccase/LG treatment. The optimal drying time and temperature of the resulting handsheet was 30 min and 105°C for improving the sizing degree of pulp, respectively. The water retention value of pulp with beating degree of 25 °SR decreased. The wet/dry tensile index value of the treated pulp increased after laccase/LG treatment. The high drying temperature (above 105 °C) of handsheet helped to enhance the wet strength of pulp.

Hand towel is one kind of disposable tissue paper which has characteristic of soaking up water quickly and lower cost. It becomes increasingly popularity in families, at work, and public places. There are many kinds of raw materials to produce hand towel according to its level. Some researches showed that bleached chemical pulp could be partially used to the production of hand towel and some other household paper. In this study, some kinds of raw material which be used to produce hand towel were analyzed and trying to looking for new one. Poplar Extruding Mechanical Pulp (EMP) had characteristics of long fiber, high level of strength and brightness. Different ratio of poplar EMP and certain Bleached Kraft Pulp were tested to make hand towel. The effects of poplar EMP on whiteness, tensile strength, bulkiness, absorbability were discussed. The results showed that characteristic targets of hand towel made from poplar EMP and Bleached Kraft Pulp met the quality requirements of GBT22455-2009 and satisfied the high-end hand towel. The new hand towel had lower cost, higher stiffness and higher bulkiness. It was feasible from the technique and economy point.

A substantial increase in demand of paper causes a severe shortage of wood, paper recycling have become increasingly important; Deinked pulp flotation column has the features of less site area, good treatment efficiency, easily control and so on, which can be wildly used in fiber recycling in abroad. This thesis uses the working principle of ore dressing to recycle secondary fiber in order to apply flotation column in wastepaper recycling. And meanwhile this article primarily study on deinked pulp flotation column which is imported from Canada, and drawing 2D maps of flotation column, Meanwhile comparing the application of image enhancement techniques in bubble dimension measurement of deinked pulp flotation column.

The focus of this study is to investigate the effect of cellulase enzyme treatment of the pulp on the reduction of energy consumption and the physical strength of old corrugated containers (OCC) fibers. Different cellulase samples including Novozyme Fibercare R, Novozyme Fibercare U and Novozyme Fibercare D used to improve the pulp beatability and physical strength of OCC fibers were comparatively studied. The effects of different cellulase samples on the breaking length and bursting index of paper were investigated. It was shown that Novozyme Fibercare D was proved to be the suitable cellulase sample used in the pretreatment of OCC fibers. It could become possible that the energy consumption of pulp beating reduced by 33.3% and the breaking length and bursting index of paper sheets increased by 50% when OCC fibers were dealt with Novozyme Fibercare D.

Paper properties, including physical properties and optical properties, fiber quality analysis and COD in the pulp effluent were used to investigate the effects of substituting Mg (OH)2 for NaOH on the properties of poplar APMP in this paper. The results from fiber quality analysis showed that increasing the substitution levels of Mg (OH)2 for NaOH in the poplar APMP could increase the content of fiber fines,the pulp had shorter average length,and levels of kinking and curl reduced.The results of paper properties analysis ,including physical properties and optical properties ,showed that the bulk and light scattering coefficient of handsheets could be improved,while the physical strength and brightness couled be decreased after using Mg (OH)2.The research for COD in the pulp effluent showed that it could reduce content of COD in the pulp effluent after substituting Mg (OH)2 for NaOH on the properties of poplar APMP,so that clean production can come true easierly,while it could retrench the cost of production and yield good economic returns.

Nowadays, over 95 % of fly ash is used as construction products in the Czech Republic. However, around 80 % of fly ash is used for renovation of open-pit quarries and areas affected by human activity. Production of artificial aggregate is the way to use over 90 % of energy by-products in the building material industry. It is necessary to find appropriate combination of parameters of input materials and conditions of production to get optimal properties of aggregate. The paper gives an account of the influence of parameters of fly ash and conditions of firing on the quality of ceramic body made from fly ash. Temperatures of 1050 °C, 1150 °C and 1200 °C were examined. The research focused on the structure of the ceramic body as well as its physico-mechanical parameters.

Lignin is the second most abundant naturally occurring macromolecule found in plant cell-wall, vascular components and woody stems. It is the largest renewable source of aromatic biopolymer. However, lignin is recalcitrant to be broken down by most chemicals. This is because of its complicated heterogeneous molecular structure. However, lignin depolymerization has huge potentials for the synthesis of a number of useful chemicals, perfumes and pharmaceuticals and toiletries. The oxidation products of lignin are important precursors for pulp/paper and food industries, synthetic thin films. Vanillin, veratryl aldehyde and para-benzoquinone are the oxidation products of lignin. These chemicals are the precursors of optically active alcohol, ketone, violuric acid and benzaldehyde. However, the oxidation of biolignin has been remaining a challenging task. Green catalytic approaches might be an interesting solution for the selective depolymerization of lignin into various platform chemicals. Metal oxide/silica supported nanoporous gold has received strong attention as green catalyst for the transformation of various natural polymers. Mesoporous metal oxide/silica provide enlarged surfaces for the breakdown of C-C, C-H and C-OH bonds. This paper has reviewed various green catalytic approaches for the control depolymerization of biolignin into platform chemicals.

The influences of endo-cellulase pretreatment of bleached softwood pulp before refining was investigated in this paper. Refining energy consumption, paper properties, wetting properties, electric charge and aggregation structure of fiber were investigated. The results showed that pretreated with endo-cellulase at the dosage of 0.4ECG/g before refining could increase the refining degree by 53.09%, and it would reduce refining energy consumption significantly. At this dosage, the tensile index of the paper sheet increased while the tear index of paper sheet decreased slightly. Additionally, enzymatic pretreatment could raise fiber surface wettability, lower the absolute value of Zeta potential and decrease the crystallinity of fiber, which was help to improve refining performance.

The improvement of Kraft Liner board strength, including burst index, ring crush index , inter-layer binding strength and folding endurance was investigated. The performance of several WEC paper chemicals were compared to select the optimum one and the most appropriate level. It was found that: (1) with respect to bottom liner board pulp, the optimum furnish was experiment G-3 with the dosage of 0.3% WEC03S + 0.2% WEC02 , while ring crush index being increased by 47.6% , folding endurance by 50.0% and burst index by 20.7%. (2) in terms of three layers composite structure of linerboard, the optimum furnish was experiment E-4 with the dosage of 0.3% WEC03S + 0.1% WEC02 +0.04% WEC02A for cover layer , that of 0.3% WEC02 + 0.03% WEC02A for bottom layer , and that of 0.03% WEC02A for core layer.

In the process of recycling phosphate ore processing wastewater, the accumulation of inorganic ions and the flotation reagents have a great influence on the flotation performance when they reach to a certain concentration. This paper studied the effect of Ca2+, Mg2+, SO42- and PO43- on the reverse flotation of phosphate ore through the single factor experiment. The experimental results show that Ca2+, Mg2+ and PO43- have less effect on the flotation performance, and that a certain amount of PO43- in the ore pulp can reduce the dosage of acid and improve the flotation result. SO42- has a significant effect on the reverse flotation of phosphate ore and the concentration of SO42- should be controlled under 1 g/L in the backwater utilization.

Rosin as a natural renewable resource has become an important research topic. The esterifiable rosin used to do the cation neutral sizing agent has the advantages of low dosage, good effect, and low demand for equipment. In this paper, the rosin esterification reaction temperature, reaction time had been made a detailed discussion. When the reaction temperature is 230°C, the reaction time is 6h, the dosage of ZnO (as the catalyst) is 0.2% (relative to the rosin), the acid value of rosin is the lowest, and the esterification has the most complete response. The emulsified rosin glyceride as the sizing was used in papermaking. The results showed that the sizing degree of paper was the highest when the dosage of sizing and Al2 (SO4)3 were both 1.5 %( relative to the dry pulp).

During the wet PU, PVC synthetic production, MCC could be served as a good micropore and thickening agents, and could obviously enhance the feel and elasticity of synthetic leather, but cotton pulp and wood pulp resources, which were used as raw material commonly to produce MCC for synthetic leather, was limited. In this paper, MCC was prepared with wheat straw pulp through the dilute acid hydrolysis, alkali treatment, enzyme treatment, drying and crushing. This paper focused on the effect of conditions of acid hydrolysis on performance of MCC, and the optimization of process parameters. The morphology, size, crystallinity and thermostability of MCC were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, TGA spectrograph. Wheat Straw MCC could meet the requirements of synthetic leather industry standards for MCC.

Single factor experiment was used to investigate neutral deinking technology of old magazine paper (OMG) by self-compounded NTM-2 deinking agent. Olympus inverted biological microscope were used to research distribution state of ink particles in the secondary pulp before and after deinking treatment. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was used to analyze fiber surface changing during neutral deinking and ink particles dispersing behaviors in the paper. The results showed that NTM-2 deinking agent had a good deinking effect to OMG, optimum operation conditions of neutral deinking was NTM-2 0.5%, deinking temperature 50°C, deinking time 40min, repulper time 25s, pulp consistence 1.0%, and floatation time 6 min. Under these conditions, brightness of the deinked pulp increased 8.4%SBD, and the ink removal efficiency reached by 90%. Olympus inverted biological microscope images showed that there were a large number of ink particles in the un-treated pulp, and these ink particles integrated with fibers tightly. After treated by neutral deinking, most of ink particles were separated from the fiber, dispersed and suspended in the pulp evenly. SEM images indicated that there were little ink particles in the secondary paper, the fiber surface turned more smoother, and the clean degree would nearly corresponding to the effect of alkaline deinking.

Several kinds of fibre materials including waste paper, wheat straw, bamboo and hardwood pulp were refined by using medium consistency refiner (MC refiner) at pulp consistency of 6-10%, and fibre fractions classification and length distribution after refining, paper physical properties and specific energy consumption during refining were compared with the refining process by using traditional low consistency refiner (LC refiner) at pulp consistency of 3-4%. The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of pulp consistency on refining response of the fibre materials. Results show that refining at consistency of 6-10% with the MC refiners effectively preserves fibre length, and the pulp after refining contains higher proportion of long fibre fractions in comparison with the pulp refined at consistency of 3-4% with LC refiners. It is also found in the experiments that physical properties of the paper made from the pulp refined at consistency of 6-10% with the MC refiners obviously enhance, and specific energy consumption during refining reduces by 30% compared with the refining at consistency of 3-4% with LC refiners.

The reeds are the reeds of the Gramineae Lo bamboo family and they are major non-wood papermaking raw materials. Based on the importance of the reed in the papermaking, many useful discussions have been carried out about its pulping and bleaching processes (Shatalov et al.,2001).Finnish scholars reported a pulp by the xylanase treatment could reduce the segment of chloride to chlorine consumption of 25% for the first time in 1986 (Viikari et al., 1986),and it was soon put into industrial production after then. Xylanase can reduce the amount of chemical additives by improving the bleach ability of the pulp, thereby reducing environmental pollution and reduce production costs, and increase the brightness of the paper (Anatoly et al., 2007).Although many scholars have done a lot of research in biobleaching, and have made some progress, but most of the selection of microorganisms are fungi and neutrophilic bacteria, the production of xylanase is usually in the pH 5 - 7, 40-50°C which often leads to maximal activity, thus lack of compatibility with the conventional chemical pulping process. In recent years, the thermal stability of alkaline xylanase has been paid much attention (Shatalov et al.,2003). Alkalophilic bacteria secreted extracellular enzyme with heat, basophilic characteristics, can be used directly to the biopulping pretreatment and bleaching of wood and non wood raw materials. The recent study on organic solventbased pulping of giant reed showed that competitive papermaking fibres could be produced using this advanced pulping technology (Shatalov and Pereira, 2001). The amount of enzyme not only directly affects the size of pulp hardness, degree of polymerization and brightness, but also was the basis for investigating the economic of dealing with enzyme.The results of alkaline bacteria xylanase bleaching ramie fiber have been reported previously (Zheng et al., 2000). In this study, the xylanase of alkalophilic Bacillus is used in reed pulp bleaching pretreatment, and the physical and chemical properties of the enzyme to deal with the reed pulp are analyzed.

The main materials of artificial fiber pulp are natural fiber from wood and linters etc. However, it will be more and more difficult to make this pulp in China because of the scarcity of forest resource and cotton field. Reed is widely distributed with high yield in china. Therefore, exploitation and utilization of reed in artificial fiber pulping have an important social significance. The artificial pulp made from reed was studied in this paper. The pulping method adopted pre-hydrolysis followed by Kraft cooking. The results showed that the great influence factors of pre-hydrolysis were the highest temperature and holding time. The optimal pre-hydrolysis conditions were: 175 °C, 75min, solid-to-liquid ratio 1:6. Under the conditions, semi-slurry yield was 60.8%. Compared with the chemical composition of reed materials, the pentosan decreased from 20.33% to 7.37%, the lignin decreased from 26.46% to 21.14%, ash decreased from 5.56% to 4.05%, besides the relative holocellulose increased from 75.95% to 81.26%. The dissolving pulp obtained after cooking and bleaching of semi-slurry met with pulp performance index requirement.
