The article focuses on a report regarding pulque-drinking in Mexico by English surgeon John Bland-Sutton which was published in "The British Journal of Inebriety" in 1912. According to the report, pulque was produced by fermentation of the sap of the maquey (Agave Mexicana) in England, London. It describes the aguamiel from the plant as sweet, pale yellow fluid with good taste and very attractive to insects. Moreover , the process of fermentation was more than 24 hours.
