In this article, we reflect on essential aspects of the exercise of the economic and urban centrality assumed by the city of Balsas in the regional scenario Sulmaranhense. This analysis took into consideration the study on the historical on the historical and social determinants that are understood as essential for a coherent reading of the socioeconomic dynamism assumed by this city in the regional scenario. Thus, we had to understand the particularities related to the genesis and diffusion of the processes of specialization of the tertiary activities, in particular, the commercial activity and its links to the development of the modern agriculture. From the methodological point of view, this analysis was based on the adoption of bibliographic studies related to the thematic area investigated, above all, the studies that involve the processes of space production in cerrado areas that have experienced an intense agricultural modernization since 1980. Associated to these aspects, we also carry out the treatment of statistical and demographic data organized by official bodies. This is the case of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics - IBGE and the Maranhense Institute for Socioeconomic and Cartographic Studies - IMESC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The objective is to understand the links between family farming and agribusiness in the municipality of Tabapuã / SP, from the analysis of three major driving force behind sociospatial, which refer to the cultivation of coffee, oranges and sugar cane. For both held research from methodological steps. Initially, there was a literature search; subsequently collected secondary data (IBGE, Seade Foundation, House of Agriculture, Labor Union of Rural and Municipal Library); at another time, there was the fieldwork, striving conducting structured interviews to the research subjects. Please note that these cultures were fundamental in specific periods for the process of organization / reorganization of socio-territorial unit. However, in this scenario, there was the dismantling and reduction of family farming. The expansion of planting important crops for international capital resulted in effects in the field of this municipality. Regarding the coffee monoculture, it emphasizes the sharecropping. Another time there was hiring day laborers for the harvest of orange, resulting socioeconomic impacts. Finally, the replacement key cultures occurred and even the area for coffee and orange due to expansion from cane sugar. Regarding the impacts occurred to the family farm, points up the difficulty of maintaining this activity against the obstacles imposed by the expansion of cash crops of international interest. Therefore, there was the impact from expansion of monocultures in the analyzed period, as well as family farming, which is in deep inattention of the municipal government. In addition, there was a lack of guidance these farmers against state action to develop this activity; this in turn is characterize as fundamental supplying basic and essential food for the Brazilian population. This study aims to analyze the process of territorialization of modern agricultural production in Porto Nacional in a period since the deployment of the first State apparatus to promote agriculture, such as ACAR - GO in 1968, until the decline of agricultural production in the late 1990. In this sense, are listed in the text, agricultural development programs allocated in the Cerrado, which made the region will dawn as one of the leading grain producers of Brazil, still in the 1970, as well as interviews with local actors who gave beginning to the process of modernization of agriculture in the county of Porto Nacional. Grain production in this county, within this period of time, present positive results at first, but some factors such as lack of price regulation, led in the mid-1990s, the decline of agricultural production. This article aims to discuss the statements and contradictions of the development that happens in regions that regulate the economy in agribusiness. In order to do so, we have based our research on the following cities: Lucas do Rio Verde, Mutum and Sorriso, all located in the Northern region of Mato Grosso state, whose economy is based on the so called agribusiness, also known as the agri-industrial complex. These cities present social economical indexes that indicate them as economically dynamic and well developed from the social viewpoint. We try to show that if on the one hand there is a development process, on the other hand there are contradictions that can only be solved from the historical process engendered in the social relationships. The territorialization of modern agriculture in Southeast of Goiás transformed the agrarian space of many municipalities as results of the "new logics" that if they had installed, marked by the intense use of science and the technology, by specialization, particularly the production of grains, aimed at agribusiness and foreign markets, by territorialization of agribusinesses, at last, new forms of exploration of the land. Added to this, the concentration of the land, the environmental impacts and the replacement of traditional producers, in many cases peasants, for agribusiness entrepreneurs, and consequence disputes use territory. Globalization constitutes on a vigorous process of social transformation, impacting on all regions of the world. Concerning the rural spaces, it introduces the modification of goods on commodities, subverting the local logics and internal coherences of places and regions. The territorial transformations on Rondônia results of the modernization of technical structures of agriculture and on the processes that enlarges the interdependences of rural-urban regions, which configurates the agribusiness of soy with the formation of that technical-informational-scientific environment. The waterway of Madeira-Amazonas grounds the territorial fluidity, imperative condition for the advance of globalized spaces.
