The article discusses a study which compared the phenotypes arising in different genetic backgrounds. It mentioned the inclusion of a Hungarian pedigree from Bukovina, Romania, affected by BSS and an English pedigree from northern England. It concluded that the identification of genetic variation is important in the prognostic counselling of cylindromatosis gene (CYLD) mutation carriers.

The article presents a case study of a 69-year-old woman with skin rash and flu-like symptoms after taking strontium ranelate. Laboratory investigations were conducted and the woman was diagnosed with drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome (DRESS), a severe, acute drug reaction, with persistent autoimmune hepatitis. Methylprednisolone and low-dose prednisolone therapy was introduced to the patient and improved results were observed.
