The ligand molecule is chelated through the N(3) atoms of the imidazole rings to the Pt atom, which lies on an inversion centre. Bond lengths and angles are normal

[Au(C 5 H 8 N 2 ) 2 ]Cl.H 2 O cristallise dans P2 1 /n avec a=7.692, b=11.351, c=16.890A, β=97.98°, Z=4; affinement jusqu'a R=0.0350. L'atome Au est lie de facon presque rectilineaire aux atomes C des deux cycles imidazole. La valeur de l'angle C-Au-C differente de 180° (175.8°) permet aux atomes Au de se rapprocher dans le voisinage des cations.

The anion of the title compound, (NH 4 )[Au(C 5 H 10 NO 2 S) 2 ].3.667H 2 O, has roughly linear coordination of the Au atom to the S atoms of the ligands [Au-S 2.2900(13)A and S-Au-S 178.47(7)°]. The C-S...S-C torsion angle is 29.3 (2)°. The packing arrangement is determined by short Au...Au contacts [3.221(1)A] as well as hydrogen-bonding interactions between ligand carboxylate and amine functional groups, the ammonium counter-cation and water molecules of hydration. Bond lengths and angles are normal.

The cation of the title compound, [Au(C18H15PS)2](PO2F2), lies with the Au atom on a 2-fold axis, with Au—S 2.277 (2) A and S—Au—S 172.40 (12)°. The deviation from linearity is not caused by Au⋯Au interactions. It may be caused by intramolecular π–π interactions between phenyl rings. Bond lengths and angles are normal.

Methyl (±)-(1α,1aα,3aα,6aα,6bα)-1a-ethenyl-1,1a,2,3a,4,5,6a,6b-octahydro-6a-methoxy-2,2-dimethyl-3,6-dioxacyclobut[cd]indene-1-carboxylate, C 15 H 22 O 5 , adopts a hemispherical conformation with the methoxy, methoxycarbonyl and vinyl groups pointing outwards from the hemisphere. The tetrahydropyran ring is in a chair conformation and the tetrahydrofuran ring is in an envelope conformation.

The structure of Czochralski-grown lanthanum strontium tetraoxogallate, LaSrGaO 4 , a K 2 Ni 2 F 4 -type compound, has been redetermined by X-ray diffraction. The improved quality of the crystals resulted in a higher precision in the determination of the geometric parameters than reported previously [Ruter & Muller-Buschbaum (1990). Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem. 584, 119-124]. La and Sr atoms are equally distributed on a nine-coordinate site, and Ga is in a distorted octahedral site stretched along [001]. PIXE analysis gives excellent quantitative results.

The absolute configuration of (+)-bromosuccinic acid has been determined to be (R). Bond lengths and angles are normal. C4H 5 BrO 4 crystallizes in P2 1 2 1 2 1 with a=7.578, b=8.735, c=9.371A, Z=4, R=0.0419.
