The article presents information on the compound 1-[N-Methyl-N-(4-methylbenzyl)amino-methyl]ferrocene or [Fe(C5H5)(C15H18N)]. In the structure of this compound substituted cyclopentadienyl plane is nearly perpendicular to the plane of the benzene ring. Cyclometallated compounds are widely used in organic synthesis, such as the Heck and Suzuki reactions. The deviation of atom N1 from the C11/C12/C13 plane is 0.4580 (1) Å and methylene atom C11 is coplanar with the benzene plane [deviation 0.0204 (3) Å ].
