Abstract

The article reflects on randomized clinical trial conducted on patients with multivessel coronary disease and acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) to study whether percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) known as angioplasty reduce adverse cardiac events. The study reported decrease in refractory angina, nonfatal myocardial infraction and cardiac mortality in patients undergoing PCI intervention.
