The author reflects on the concept of a paperless office. He narrates the function of an Olympia manual typewriter and carbon paper in his time. He argues that inspite of the availability of the computers, writers still prefer to edit on paper. He considers that the shift to a paperless office is determined by cost management, space utilization and the need to share data. He also concludes that factors should be evaluated towards accomplishing this goal.
