This paper proposes a novel partitioned- stator liner-rotary permanent magnet actuator (PS- LRPMA) which separates the stator into an inner one and an outer one. Compared with current LRPMA, the magnetic reluctance of the PS-LRPMA is decreased and the flux leakage is reduced by shortening the magnetic circuit, which flows through the iron core of the rotor. Three-dimensional finite element method (FEM) is used to analyze the magnet field distribution, the static and dynamic performance. The simulated results show that the PS-LRPMA has excellent electromagnetic performance, such as higher thrust and higher torque density.
