This article proposes parameter sensitivity analysis for planar self-coupled windings to reduce parasitic inductance in three-capacitor EMI filters. Numerical simulations with variations in six parameters are demonstrated to assess the performance of a compensated filter. From the simulation results, feasible criteria to further improve compensated filter performance for both differential and common modes are proposed. In addition, sensitive parameter values can be avoided to achieve more stable compensation performance.

A high gain patch antenna using more subwavelength hole metamaterial as radome operating at 3.5 GHz band is proposed in this work. We use a metamaterial superstrate, which is constructed by stacking three layers of Jerusalem cross structure. The structure can be applied to modify the radiation pattern and increase antenna gain. The proposed structure is made by three layers FR4 and the Jerusalem cross structure is printed on the front slab at each layer. This radome's refraction index approximately equals zero and increases the antenna gain at a frequency close to 3.5 GHz. In addition, we change the number of subwavelength holes in metamaterial radome to further enhance antenna gain. A patch antenna which is covered by the proposed metamaterial radome can achieve a maximum gain of 7.8 dBi.

This paper proposed a low profile RFID tag antenna design for metallic objects application. The antenna structure consists of two non-connected capacitance loads and two rectangular patches electrically connected through vias to the ground plane to form an RFID tag antenna that is suitable for mounting on metallic objects. The experimental tests show that the maximum read range of RFID tag placed on a metallic object and in the air are approximately 2.5 and 2.3 m, respectively. Hence, it is suitable for RFID applications when the tag needs to be mounted directly on a metallic object, and the thickness of the tag is of major concern. Simulation and measurement results of the proposed RFID metal tag antenna are also presented in this paper.

In the paper, a printed small antenna for Ultra-wideband (UWB) communication system application suitable for integration in wireless Universal Serial Bus (WUSB) dongles is presented. The proposed antenna has bandwidth of 8.41 GHz form 2.74 GHz up to 11.15 GHz with return loss values below - 10 dB in the whole frequency range. The proposed antenna consists of two symmetrical triangle metals and rectangle ground. The antenna design utilizes symmetrical triangle to achieve broad impedance bandwidth with good gain performance. The antenna fabricated on PCB area of 16 mm ×38 mm × 0.8 mm and small size easily integrated to RF-circuit. The prototype antenna has characteristics of the Omni-directional radiation pattern, UWB, simple shape, good gain and low cost. Detailed simulation and experimental investigations are conducted to understand antenna behavior and optimize for broadband operation.
