P(論文), ナイロン-6極細繊維を固定相に、蒸留水をプローブとして、インバースガスクロマトグラフ法による吸湿量測定に及ぼす温度の影響を調べた結果、極細繊維の特徴ある吸湿挙動が見られた。(1)保持容量とピーク面積のプロットについては、キャリヤーガス流速を変化させると保持容量は変化するが、その傾向は前報と同様に、下に凸の曲線を示し、どの流速においても、注入水分量の極少ない領域で、水分子とナイロン6極細繊維との間に、強い吸着が起こっていることを示唆した。(2)キャリヤーガス流速を20m1/minにし、測定温度を90℃から40℃まで変化させたところ、90℃では、キャリヤーガス流速40m1/minの時と同じ吸湿量であった。(3)測定温度80℃以下では、キャリヤーガス流速40m1/minの時よりも吸湿量が増えた。(4)BETパラメータであるN_mも吸湿量に対応していて、測定温度80℃以下では、キャリヤーガス流速40m1/minの時よりもN_mが増えた。キャリヤーガス流速の変化に依存した。(5)さらに詳細な検討が必要と思われる。, The adsorption behaviors of water vapor by Nylon-6 micro fiber were measured in the range 40～90℃ by inverse gas chromatography, under the carrier gas flow rate in 20m1/min. The values of retention volume decreased with increasing the peak area, indicating the strong adsorption of the vapor on Nylon-6 micro fiber at low vapor pressure. The adsorption isotherm as a whole was found to be of BET IItype with certain number of adsorption sites. The carrier gas flow rate didn't affect the estimated amount of the water vapor adsorption at 90℃. The amount of the water vapor adsorption increased with decreasing column temperature in the range 40～80℃.

P(論文), Melting behavior of Nylon 6 ultra micro fibers and micro fibers with 0.4～21.0μm diameters has been inbestigated. Two peaks were observed for the melting of the ultra micro fibers. One showed the lower initial melting temperature and the lower central melting temperature with the diameter reduction, and the other showed no variation of the temperatures with the reduction. It was inferred that the melting behavior of the crystal in the surface region of these fibers is definitely different from that of the central region. This surface effect of the fiber on the crystal melting is reported here for the first time.

P(論文), The post-harvest lignification of asparagus was investigated. Spears of asparagus 1 day after harvesting were stored at 15-23℃. Immediately, 3, 7 days after storage, the samples were analyzed for their lignin content, histochemical color reactions were observed and taste tests were carried out. The content of lignin after 7 days of storage was more than twice that of the unstored control sample, even when weight loss during storage was considerd. Four kinds of histochemical color reactions indicated the cell wall lignin of asparagus to be of the guaiacyl-syringyl type for sclerenchyma, bundle sheath and pith parenchyma, and of the guaiacyl type for all other tissues. Lignin deposition on the vessel and sclerenchyma cell walls was detected from the beginning of storage, while deposition occurred on the other tissues in the latter half of storage. The analytical and taste test results clearly show that lignification proceeded from the lower to the upper part of a spear.

P(論文), The effects of 10 polyphenols and 2 aromatic amino acids on human salivery α-amylase (SA) and porcine pancreatic α-amylase (PA) were investigated in vitro by Blue Starch methed. (1) Tannic acid, caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid and gallic acid showed strong inhibitory effects and their concentrations of 50% inhibition (IC_) were below 1mM for either of SA or PA, whereas IC_ of (+) -catechin were 1.583mM for PA and 6.778 mM for SA. (2) Among the other chemicals tested, catechol, L-dooa, DL-dopa, guaiacol, L-phenylalanine and L-tyrosins did not have significant effects on the SA and PA activities. (3) Tannic acid was found to have larger effects on SA than PA, whereas all the other samples showed a stronger inhibition on PA than SA.

P(論文), One group of Bartlett pears that was transported from YAMAGATA Prefecture in 1991 was after-ripened at 20℃, and another group was after-ripened as well after the storage for 7 days at O℃. Changes in alcohol insoluble solid (AIS), water soluble pectin (W-S), soduim hexametaphosphate soluble pectin (P-S), hydrochloric acid soluble pectin (H-S), total pectin (T-P), total sugar, reducing sugar and acid content of the two groups were determined. The results were mainly as follows; (1) In one group without cold storage, AIS content decreased from 3.75% before after-ripening to 2.40% on the ninth day at the stage of maturing and to 1.96% on the eleventh day. W-S content increased from 0.162% before after-ripening to a maximum of 0.231% on the ninth day and then decreased to 0.081% on the 13th day. H-S and T-P content decreased gradually to half on the 13th day. Total sugar and reducing sugar content increased during after-ripening, but P-S and acid content did not change so much. (2) In another group precooled at O℃ for 7 days, AIS, pectin, sugar and acid content changed irregularly during after-ripening. The fruits softened unevenly.

P(論文), One hundred forty-nine strains of bacteria were isolated from 24 powder-puffs used daily by 24 female students. All the powder-puffs had some bacteria which grew on Soybean-Casein-Digest-Lecithin-Polysorbate 80 broth agar medium. Six powder-puffs had many bacteria of more than 1000 colony forming unit per 1 ml of powder-puff washing. Bacteria including genus Staphylococcus, genus Micrococcus and genus Bacillus were isolated, of which common species were S. epidermidis and B.subtilis or B.pumilus. The incidence of S.aureus was as low as 7 strains in 149 ones.

P(論文), Normal stems and stem gells of the cultivated type and domestic native type of water bamboo(Zizania latifolia Turcz.), were observed comparative anatomically, and were studied on their histochemical properties, especially as to distribution and rise and fall of acid phosphatase (ACP-ase) 1) Compared with the cultivated type, the native type is higher in number of tillers, narrower in width of leaf blades, higher in position on the stem of forming galls, smaller in size of stem galls, and earlier in maturation, being unsuitable as food crop. 2) The senescence of tissue, indicated by sclerenchymatization, lignification, and acid phosphatase (ACP-ase) deactivation of cell walls in epidermis, hypodermis, assimilatory tissue, cortex fiber and vascular bundle sheath of the normal stem, proceeded faster with the native type than the cultivated type. 3) The ACP-ase activity in immature stem galls of the cultivated type was higher than that of the normal stem. In particular, the markedly high activity was noted in the peripheral tissues of vascular bundle and hyphal cavity. Distribution of starch, protein and lipid well corresponded with that of ACP-ase activity. 4)In the tissues of senile stem galls after formation of spores, ACP-ase was deactivated and starch grains disappeared. 5) In the native type no difference in histochemical properties of the stems was noted between that infected by Ustilagoesculenta and the normal.
