Economics requires understanding and analyzing forces that bring buyers and sellers to a market place who then negotiate exchanges of goods and services based on a mutually agreeable price. This book presents a new ‘partitional'approach to understanding or interpreting the math of standard quantum mechanics (QM). The thesis is that the mathematics (not the physics) of QM is the Hilbert space version of the math of partitions on a set and, conversely, the math of partitions is a skeletonized set level version of the math of QM. Since at the set level, partitions are the mathematical tool to represent distinctions and indistinctions (or definiteness and indefiniteness), this approach shows how to interpret the key non-classical QM notion of superposition in terms of (objective) indefiniteness between definite alternatives (as opposed to seeing it as the sum of ‘waves'). Thus, the book develops a new mathematical, or indeed, logical, approach to the century-old problem of interpreting quantum mechanics, ensure it is of interest to philosophers of science as well as mathematicians and physicists.

In 1701, Frederick I crowned himself the first King in Prussia. This title required a process of royal status construction in conjunction with other European rulers, and Frederick found his most willing partners in the English monarchy. This volume examines their ceremonial and military cooperation. Diplomatic ceremonial was the medium through which the English state and its representatives recognised the new royal rank of the Hohenzollern dynasty. In exchange, Frederick engaged in extensive military cooperation with the English in the War of the Spanish Succession. Yet English statesmen and diplomats also instrumentalised Anglo-Prussian relations for their own status production, furthering their careers and elevating their rank via the symbolic construction of Prussian royal dignity. This book investigates this reciprocal construction of status and rank, exploring the aims and actions of actors involved, and assessing the extent to which they succeeded. Stirling numbers are one of the most known classes of special numbers in Mathematics, especially in Combinatorics and Algebra. They were introduced by Scottish mathematician James Stirling (1692-1770) in his most important work, Differential Method with a Tract on Summation and Interpolation of Infinite Series (1730). Stirling numbers have a rich history; many arithmetic, number-theoretical, analytical and combinatorial connections; numerous classical properties; as well as many modern applications.This book collects much of the scattered material on the two subclasses of Stirling numbers to provide a holistic overview of the topic. El creciente interés académico por las posibilidades educativas del cómic en el aula ha sido respondido con un desarrollo constante de nuevas propuestas metodológicas que demuestran que la implicación y motivación por parte del estudiante ante el uso de la historieta como herramienta pedagógica es una realidad con múltiples ventajas, que aprovechan al máximo la versatilidad formal y de contenidos, así como la fundamental conexión de la narrativa gráfica con la escrita de los tebeos, para establecerse como elemento clave ante los retos que supone la necesaria inclusión de nuevas metodologías activas en el aula. Los docentes encuentran en el cómic un instrumento que desde su naturaleza multimodal puede ser utilizado desde diferentes perspectivas en un proceso de aprendizaje que puede contemplar una transversalidad inherente a las nuevas propuestas innovadoras, fomentando tanto el pensamiento crítico como la creatividad.
