Die'Craniomandibuläre Dysfunktion'(CMD) beschreibt Störungen im Bereich der Kaumuskulatur und/oder des Kiefergelenks, die struktureller, funktioneller, biochemischer und psychischer Ätiologie sein können und schmerzhafte oder nicht schmerzhafte Beschwerden hervorrufen. Die Symptome sind vielfältig und reichen von Zahnschmerzen bis zu Tinnitus und Schlafstörungen. Diese Komplexität an Symptomen, die eine CMD hervorrufen kann und die multifaktorielle Ätiologie sorgen dafür, dass die Beschwerden oft erst spät oder gar nicht erkannt werden und eine Chronifizierung der Beschwerden die Folge ist. Derzeit haben sich als Therapieverfahren für die CMD Aufklärung, Okklusionsschienen, Physiotherapie/Selbsttherapie, Psychotherapie, Cyclobenzaprin, Antidepressiva, Analgetika und Benzodiazepine bewährt bzw. wurden durch Studien als effektiv bewertet. Aufgrund der Tatsache, dass die Dentalhygienikerin (DH) und Präventionsmanagerin die Patienten in der Regel häufiger antrifft als der Zahnarzt und dass vor jeder Behandlung eine allgemeinmedizinische Anamnese erhoben werden sollte, können Verhaltensänderungen und gesundheitliche Veränderungen schneller durch diese bemerkt werden.

Despite success with treatment when diagnosed early, breast cancer is still one of the most fatal forms of cancer for women. Imaging diagnosis is still one of the most efficient ways to detect early breast changes with mammography among the most used techniques. However, there are other techniques that have emerged as alternatives or even complementary tests in the early detection of breast lesions (e.g., breast thermography and electrical impedance tomography). Artificial intelligence can be used to optimize image diagnosis, increasing the reliability of the reports and supporting professionals who do not have enough knowledge or experience to make good diagnoses.
